Addendum/ Halo C&C is worse, it's like they are forcing people to come together and independently make new versions of kane's wrath, new maps, new missions, new weapons, new ships, etc.

I loved command and conquer, Red alert, tiberian sun, but never played red alert 2. Generals wasn't bad. Total annihilation trumps all them imo. Dawn of War 1 was badass too.

warhammer 40k have this stuff, you are HERO unit, and just summon dudes, no buildings, no stuff, just gather resource and summon units

I remember wanting this game for christmass when I was young. I was a kid who played RA3 and loved it hoping this would be similar... you have no idea how sad I was trying this game out
I've only ever played red alert and it's expansions, command and conquer and Tiberian sun. Never played RA2 or anything newer. After I found total annihilation my search ended.

@@c.james1 supreme commander, beyond all reason, and the og total annihilation with the escalation mod is imo the absolute best rts games ever created. When I say how much variety total annihilation escalation has in the way of units, bots, vehicles, ships, hovercraft, aircraft, nukes, structures. 3 tiers of units and an experimental tier. It's absolutely ridiculous the amount of ways to win or lose a match. It has a thriving 3rd party client. The game came out in 97 so the original servers are obviously dead. Total annihilation forever is the client. Still has a very alive community. Anyway check out those 3 games. Total annihilation with the escalation mod, beyond all reason, and supreme commander forged alliance. If you like rts games you're search will end there.

EA happened and made a crappy company of heroes knock-off.
A C&C spin-off in the style of company of heroes or dawn of war 2 could very fun. I mean, if it wasn't made by EA. If only Relic could get hold of the franchise and bring back some of the old folks from Westwood... especially Frank Keplacki. It ain't a C&C game without a Keplacki soundtrack. Image if there were three "ages" that you could set a game into, Tiberium Dawn, Tiberian Sun and Tiberium Wars. Each one change the available factions, units and map assets, so a Tiberium Dawn could be a nice lush grassland, but the same map in Tiberian Sun mode is a wasteland.
Where's my Command and conquer General 2 ?
Generals, RA 1,2 and 3, Tiberian wars and Kane's wrath. All of them are absolutely spectacular. I didn't care for the rest of the C@C series. Just my personal opinion. If the name Westwood rings a bell, you know where I stand!

Can’t believe how badly a franchise was ruined the game was never the same after red alert and bastardised, keep hoping someone picks it up and returns it to its glory days. Such a massive following for a cult game that has always been the best in this genre nothing else comes close

@@gregw4303 truly a shame. I havent touched it since I played 1 skirmish way back. I remember one of my biggest disappointment was the fact that there were infantry caps. But not to fear, this was a blemish on the series but every other game has been great. I know it isnt EA, but today I still play C&C tiberium sun. Especially with the warzone mod its incredibly enjoyable just to spend a couple hours when Im free playing skirmishes. Maybe you can try Company of Heroes if you hadnt already!

C&C4 was and is objectively terrible. Once again EA put a revolver in a good studios mouth. This isnt a command and conquer game. Its a shit tier MOBA and a disgrace that they even released this dumpster fire.

I know I'm super late to this, but having just played the remastered games and loved them, I tried Red Alert 3 and C&C 3 and just really hated the new zoomed in look. I get trying different things but to me I just disliked not being able to see the whole map easily anymore.

Just finished what is probably my 50th playthrough of the Red Alert 2 campaigns, one of the greatest games of all time. Look at the fucking state of this mess what were they thinking. EA could make a couple of million quid easily if they remastered RA2.
at first i was watching and remember yeah why i haven't played this one even thought i played the previous one and remember just how different it was......
it is challenging indeed but it kinda mess me up a lot since i played the previous game........

@@Pretency you need to play singleplayer to unlock those techs. it adds importance to campaigns and story line of which this franchaise invest so much on actors and filming compared to other games. I wouldn't be surprised to learn they will start a movie after this.

I'm not here to talk about the "too different" argument, but Red Alert 2 and Generals and their own kings in separate categories. THIS is just outclassed by Halo Wars 2 in every way imaginable
I feel like they could've made this another franchise within the C&C universe if they renamed everything instead of forcing it into an extension of the Tiberium series. Part of the reason for all the hate for this game was because it didn't have the gameplay nor spirit of the Tiberium universe. As a separate entity it would've been fine; this is what happens if you try to force things or rush projects without thinking about the bigger picture.

C&C 3/Kanes wrath and generals/ zero hour are my favorite. Really sad to see that it’s nothing like the other games. I’m pretty sure this was the game that put the whole franchise down

It almost looks like they were trying to make some MOBA/Esport crap... with this type of simple and neutered game play
They probably were and just revamped it midway through when they realized it could not compete in the market.
LOTR battle for middle earth II you got to construct a base and manage ressources at strategic point

10 months simply weren't enough time to develop and flesh out the game properly.
I'm sure if there was more development time available, perhaps the ideas could've been developed a lot further to make these work within the universe of C&C.
The Crawler wasn't a bad idea in my opinion. But they could've done more with it.
The game could've had more mobile versions of classic buildings like a mobile refinery so that the classic ressource gathering could've been kept. Kane's Wrath had something like that with the MARV.
Then the crawler could've been used to fortify tiberium fields with turrets.
The story could've been tweaked in a way that for instance the TCN wasn't complete so that there were still lots of tiberium fields left to harvest in-game.
Also, while the player's wife was nice, I also feel she didn't fit very well into the story.

Tbh, we kind of had that with the nod mobile construction yard, which was enough. It would make the gameplay too easy if all your buildings could be moved. It worked for starcraft terrans because the resources in that game didn't get replenished.
Honestly, I liked SC as a kid when it came out, but now I can't stand it; too much micromanagement and micro strategy. I like cnc and its gameplay more.

Wow, seeing C&C and Red Alert remastered in 4K just hits me with a wave of nostalgia. I remember spending hours on end perfecting my strategies and base layouts. It's incredible to see the old graphics enhanced so much, and yet the gameplay still feels as tight as it did back in the day. They really don't make 'em like this anymore.
One reason i didnt play this or red alert 3...... the camera FOV is fucking terrible...
The forums where full of complaints about the camera fov when C&CRE3 released. EA said they are taking the critism on board for future titles, then released twilight.

The original games (Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert) from the 90s were absolutely brilliant in every way. Loved them so much as a kid and still play them today. However, I never liked any of the successors. They all felt generic and forgettable.

there's a reason why all C&C games sucked after Tiberian sun was because they got rid of the base building element. The ability to build a base with a fortified wall gave a SimCity kinda element to the game and gave alot ore defensive strategy to the game. When there's no base to build its just a slug match who ever can build the fastest

So, based on all the monitoring of criticism of the video game Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight, I can deduce the following general points that players dislike:
1) This game is not the same as previous games.
2) The game lacks continuity with the series.

Well... Holy shit.
In the gaming industry, more than the greed of mega corporations, the only thing I hate is player bias. And that's combined with hypocrisy.
If a sequel to a game has minimal changes, then DLC is full price.
If a sequel to a game has changed a lot, then it's no longer part of our favorite series.
In the case of C&C, fans are literally willing to chew on the same game. Tiberium Wars is literally a reskin of the very first game. And everyone is fine with that!
But when the quadricquel decided to completely rework the RTS system, combat, resources, units, collect many unpopular decisions in the genre, and make it all playable and work with a new approach to gameplay...
Thus creating a major rethinking of not only C&C, but the RTS genre in general.
But the fans screamed "It's not RTS, bring back the old way, with our bases and units!".
If the entire spectrum of fan complaints is "It's not like it used to be", then the fans can just fuck off, and with no desire to see them again.
And after all, it's always like this: Doom, Prince of Persia, Splinter Cell, DMC, Mirror's Edge.
To any desire to present the series in a new way, with new emotions, fans cringe with cries of "We want the same game we had 10 years ago!"
By doing so, they only kill the series permanently, preventing it from revealing itself in a new guise.

Ngl, this was fun, but the Unit limit was stupid. Thankfully, unlimited maps are dime a dozen. I think if it released now, it would be a much popular game, but they can't put the 4 in the title, has to be a spin off.

I remember seeing this pop up one day after release at complete random, I hadn't even saw it advertised or anything which is how I knew it'd be a train wreck. It's the only C&C game I've never bought or played to this day and this is from the guy who bought Renegade day 1. 😂
