nice videos thanks I have question I have forklift hyster h50 xl start but when I push pedal for aceleration cut off I have to put my hand on hold fron air filter runs fine if I take my hand off the forklift cut off
We have a Impco model J, with a sticker with P/N JB 201205. It does have a spring button in the center. Also on the casting it has WCO 08 LBS. I took the discharge tube off and turned the key on. It blasted harder than 8 lbs it seemed. Are the Rebuild Kits the same for the "J" model and the "JB" model ? What is the function of the spring button in the center ? Found a new unit for $97 on EBay. Dealer wanted $800. Thanks for your time.
+VideosByAl not sure about the difference between j and jb. The spring button on the center is a primer. Anytime you feel pressure coming out of that hose to the mixer, it's means the regulator is not doing its job anymore.
Good memory. Yes, we had the Toyota road guy drop a potentiometer in and that took care of the problem. Currently using a 5 and 7 series Electric 5000 lbs trucks, and the 5 series Lp is a back up. Well when it runs ;). Thanks again for your help.
Just for info that primer button was first used on Century LP systems. It was intended to aid in the first start. It was controlled by button on dash which depressed plunger. Saved on long starter crank time also aided engines with low vacuum conditions. There was also a kit to adapt an electric plunger to Impco systems. @@forkliftgeek10
Hey man I have a lpg Toyota forklift. It’s got no start. It tries to start but can never catch. I tried spraying starting fluid right into the intake and still nothing. So that lead me to believe there no spark because starting fluid should atleast get it to start for a second. I checked the spark by grounding the spark plug and it’s got spark but it looked weak. I changed plugs and still the same thing. Could it be a weak spark or should I look somewhere else ? Any recommendation on what I should check. The distributor cap looks a little worn but I would think if it’s sparking it should start. It’s a 2014
Spark should jump at least 3/4 inch using a test light or a wire connected to body ground or negative. If it does not it is weak to jump the spark plug gap under compression.
We have a 5 series that got pull out of service because too much LP was being delivered. I have not had time to look for the problem. I don't think it has a map sensor, I think raw liquid is getting to the carb. Is that possible ?

How can I get in contact with you I have a problem with a fgu25 rebuilt regulator, took carb apart. got running great hot. but will NOT start cold... Starter keeps kicking back, it will start and cut right off I'm losing my mind...... Please help
ForkliftGeek cold starting is when it does it. It's kicking back like a gas motor out of time... at 0:38 that box on the fan shroud goes from the diaphragm to that hollow box I'm assuming that box is some type of expansion chamber all the way over to the air cleaner where the plug is I guess for the air filter indicator I did away with all that put a fuel filter on a short hose to the diaphragm to keep it clean plugged of the air cleaner side .and it started cranking smooth again and running better
ForkliftGeek it's kinda hard to explain typing..when I go to start it cold it will shut right off. and do that like ten times all the while the starter grinding like it's out of timing...then it will run rough and clear up and be fine. I got it to where it runs and starts great when it gets warm.. but cold starts are hell on it
ForkliftGeek cold starting is the problem it used to be starting all the time but everything I've done it's just cold starting it is a few min process getting it going cold it starts cuts right off starts cuts right off
How does a fella get in contact with you? Wanna pick your brain about a Raymond OPC 550, code 84. Tried swapping parts, meter places, on and on and on. Was hoping you could help.
Sorry about the reply in the other video. I forgot I sent this one. Anyway, yeah, the truck lurches forward a bit at selftest before the brake engages. We've tried swapping VMMs and brakes just as a test, and it still does it. Thanks for taking the time to comment on this and your videos! Awesome stuff.
+Oat lord knowing that the truck moves then it can only be a mechanical issue. You said you replaced the brakes, did you try to adjust it? Did you replace the brake as a whole or just the top part with the pads? At start up the computer powers up the drive motor with the brakes engaged then looks at the encoder. If the encoder was sending a signal it would code out 84. But since the truck was moving then naturally the encoder would send the signal. To verify you could unplug the encoder before start up and see if it still codes out.
+Oat lord another test is to unplug the connector for the brake before self test, if it stops the truck moving, then somehow the brake coil is being energized. If it still moves then problem is with brake or the motor shaft spinning independently from the brake rotor.
i really appreciate the videos you put out. I am a road warrior going on 2 years now. I have learned a lot from your channel. Keep the videos coming.
+flippercon84 thanks
thank you for this video ive been meaning to watch it as soon as you put it out
Excellent video and tutorial. Thanks for your time!

why is the pcv valve not plugged to the carb?
Because that is where the vacuum gauge is hooked up to during testing.

Thanks a lot. I'm going to take it apart and look it over. Can't hurt anything at this point.
+VideosByAl you're welcome. Say, did the throttle potentiometer fix the problem on your 4 wheel electric?
Good memory. Yes, we had the Toyota road guy drop a potentiometer in and that took care of the problem.

TOYOTA FORKLIFT SAME AS THE VIDEO MOVED FROM LPG TO GAS BUT THE ENGINE DIESELING ANY CLUE?
I'd look for carbon build up. Also make sure the spark plugs are correct.

I have propane coming from my air filter when i turn it off. What could cause this?
It could be from multiple causes. It would vary depending on the fuel system being used. But common cause would be the propane regulator.
Thank u for sharing😃😃😃😃😃
I have one with similar issue. Lock off valve is clicking and relay is clicking. The cel light is also pulsing. I'm lost

+VideosByAl yes, if the vaporizer is not able to regulate the pressure.
Thanks a lot Jay!!

When it is not starting, what is missing? Spark or fuel? Also check vacuum reading when cranking should be between 3 to 5 inches of mercury.

So, it's not acting up anymore?
