I applied for a job as a hospital police officer and the background check was extensive as well. This investigator asked so many detailed questions. Also, everything was auto recorded. Damn!
Because people get nervous. The last thing I want is a bad polygraph because I'm just a nervous person when I'm really not lying about anything. Hell I get nervous just going into work every day and I've been in the army for 3 years. And before that a locomotive Conductor at 18 years old, nervous everyday then too. I got nothing to hide but are they going to fail me when I attempt because I'm nervous about getting interrogated?
From what I’ve been told by reputable personnel, if you show them that you have learned from the experience and changed for the better, they may overlook an arrest without conviction.
I want to be a firefighter, but I had poor grades in Highschool and was arrested for property damage (though not charged with any crime) about a year ago. How much will this hinder me?
Want real advice? WEAR AN UNDERSHIRT. Absorbs the armpit perspiration, which results in your brain not having to think about your sweaty pits being a sign of nervousness or stage-fright. This strategy has helped me greatly. We all remember the presentations in school and remember the classmates that sweat thru their shirts.
Hi sir, I would like to ask you a question , I'm process for las Vegas metro police , do you think if I don't remember exactly the dates either as my prior jobs or addresses and write down the days no exactly could be disqualification?
Bryan Quiroga month and year, city and state. Depends on how long ago. You need to call them and ask for your hiring dates. Even fast food restaurants have that available nationwide and even over seas. Name, dob, social. There is a sample background packet for NEVADA DPS online. Pretty close to what you’ll have to fill out. For fire or law.
I'm curious about how family can effect the background check. My dad has a felony from 20 years ago, and I have a cousin who has a felony charge and been involved with gangs.
I must have asked this question a hundred times, but what are my chances of becoming an EMT with a felony background? I'm above and beyond ready to overcome this and willing to do anything but something ridiculous to accomplish having this career. I'm with a fire department now and I'm taking emt basic this fall. I made ONE mistake 5 years ago, and I've always lived a straight life. I appreciate you taking the time to hear me out.
I have a question, I went to take my live screen fingerprints for California Corrections. I'm going, to be honest with you, I don't know if you could give me any advice in 2013 I applied for a cleaning agency, that agency cleans the sheriff's buildings. Even though I didn't get the job through the sheriff's agency, they took my fingerprints to work there. The problem was that I forgot to mention it, do you think they will find out? I got fired from work because I wasn't doing my best, I was immature.
i wanted to know can a person with a violent felony record get a job doing this or am i just going to waste my time and money going to school? also this was a 5 years back havent gotten into trouble since then
@@tio760 no you wont pass they have many candidates with no record, why would they choose you. Now the good part you can apply for a government pardon you have to put alot of work to get it. But nothing is impossible if you give a 100 percent no one is perfect. we all make mistake just some people get caught and others dont
That's not true I've met a full time paid firefighter who worked for a department in WA state out on the fire line in the summer and he was covered in tattoos and spent years in prison
Be completely honest and make steps to show you learned from your mistakes and are teaching others to joy make those mistakes, honesty will go a long way
Costas Tz first phase is written application which will have bold lettering at the top of the first page telling you whether your wasting your time or not. Don’t waste theirs either.
Dorian Swartout tell them. A mistake of the heart is more forgivable then a mistake of the mind. When you lie, you look dishonest and can’t be trusted. Just tell the truth because they will find out the truth one way or another. Good luck 😄
I am the best of the best whether or not I'm hired. I'm the best their is the best their was and the best there ever will be. These back round and pychological test are bullshit. It's weather they like you as a person or the way you look is what is going to get you a job. It's pathetic
No it really does not... some departments will put dozens through backgrounds... if they are putting 10 through, is $1,000,000 logical for people they won't hire

being nervous doesn't make you fail. They can see the difference between nervousness and tampering with answers or your bodies natural reactions
What if you were arrested but not convicted? Will they disqualify you?

If you got bounced out of a background just dont put that you applied for that department
Tnx for the helpful video man 👍I got Backround check started for cbp and this helps alot.

AlexSolva how is it bro
AlexSolva Your good to go after 5 years from a non violent felony to get your EMT state card
@@HookLine48 is this true?? I'm 2 weeks away from finishing my program and I'm so nervous
A felony conviction as an EMT? That's going to be next to impossible.

This is really helpful
If you have experimented with drugs years before how much does that prevent the possibility of getting hired?
Jason Watson I need an answer to this question as well
i wanted to know can a person with a violent felony record get a job doing this or am i just going to waste my time and money going to school? also this was a 5 years back havent gotten into trouble since then
Yup look into something else brotha felons are banned from carrying any guns
They should be too
You need to go to court have it dismissed and then apply with ATF to restore your constitutional rights
what if you were arrested but the case was dismissed?? can you pass the background?
tio760 it really depends on what you were arrested for, and how long ago the arrest happened? You can pass, not all arrests are an auto DQ.
@@STILLNIGHTPEARL My arrest was10 years ago it was possession of an illegal substance (not coke, not heroin, not weed), but the case was dissmissed.
tio760 you should be fine, just make sure you write it down, explain it to your background investigator.

what do i do if i was fired from stealing? I no charges or anything but what should i just say the truth?
Melissa Encarnacion firefighters should have integrity, if they ask, tell the truth and show how you changed yourself
We don't want to let a fire burn more than it needs to.
I was discharged from the military with a general discharge can I still get in?
Why not honorable?
robertpal9 what happened
Shitbag
Hi josh: I have had an extensive past, and I'm not proud of it. How do I answer those questions?
you dont because you wont get hired, let alone make it to the background investigation

On the initial application packet they usually highlight and in bold letters explain what would disqualify you.

I've smoked weed before but like 4 years ago..should I tell them that or just say no I haven't?

Yes tell him you smoke weed, no one is perfect and they will respect you for that.
For criminal organization
Good, bad, guess it doesn't matter.,""❤
What if I tried alcohol and weed 1 time and only took one drink and one hit shiuld I tell them about that
If you have to ask whether to tell the truth or not, you need to work on your integrity before you apply.
SDSU Aztecs 💯
im a gangster. like, a real gangsta. does that disqualify me?
