I actually enquired after some dogs who were retiring from service. One was a 3 legged goofball of a German Shepherd and the other was a Belgian malinois who wasn't taking to protection work. Unfortunately, although I bonded with the dogs, the malinois was retrained for another role. I couldn't get the German Shepherd because I had no fenced in yard for the dog to run in.
