Charlie Hernandez mine is! No issues until 120k. Regular wastegate rattle. That’s it! And I beat the shit out of it. Just single turbo it at 130k! Still have to tune it
@@mikew3172 hey man how has the reliability been, i wanna buy this what do you think? sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/cto/d/san-diego-2011-bmw-335is-e92-coupe-dct/7141178763.html
Mohamed Khalid like I said I had no issues at all. Regular oil changes and that’s it. I haven’t even done the breaks yet because I drove mainly highway. But overall it’s a good car just learn how to do maintenance by yourself because dealer will rip you a new one $$$ lol
May I suggest an MFactory LSD? Replace rear subframe bushings and differential bushings with at least M3 parts for the former and aftermarket for the latter. Replace front and rear control arms with M3 parts. A better FMIC helps tremendously (do not cheap out), and you will need a new CP, even without a tune. Try the ECU flashes 1st (Cobb, MHD, BB) as they drive better than any Just Broken piggyback sending delayed false signals to the DME. I hear you on the 18", especially if you don't upgrade the brakes, which is fine for street driving. However, there is not a lot of room under the fenders, so 235 and 265 widths F/R are close to the limit without crazy negative camber. Well bought sir.
Max Nix hey man! It’s like you read my mind! The biggest complaint I have so far with the car is the lack of LSD! The mod path you mentioned is pretty much exactly where I’m headed with this car! I already replaced the charge pipe because I blew the stock one up. Replaced it with a VRSF unit and Tial BOV. Also running MHD. I chose it for the same reason you mentioned above. Way better power delivery and it’s really smooth. I’m actually shooting my next video now. It’s been delayed since I have been tied up with my business.
Just got a chance to hop over from your reply off your 4Runner post. WE have very similar tastes in vehicles. I had a 2001 BMW 330i. The difference is the timing in life we have chose either or. lol I went from the BMW, to a 2013 Mercedes C300 4Matic. (daily driver)It is fine, but I missed my off road adventures.(thus why I bought the 2018 TRD Off Road) At some point I will be getting back into a USED BMW. My choice will be the M3 E92 series. I believe the last year for the aspirated was your year. 2012. So definitely stick to your guns on your daily driver as a BMW and get back into the TRD 4Runner for your weekend warrior/adventurer. And I think you will have a long happy reliable vehicle life. With smiles every day of the week. :)
I actually recently thought about buying a new 4runner but I just can't justify it anymore. They are pretty expensive and we should have a new generation coming soon. So for now, I'm again looking for a new daily.
It would be awesome to get an update on your build path I have a 2013 335is and would be satisfied with 450 to the wheels but would love to hit close to 500 just wanted to see some recommendations
Ditch the run flats and buy a lithiumax battery from Australia so you drop 40+ lbs on battery and a further 20lbs nicer ride and drop in rotational weight from the tires
Of audi quality? They literally use cheap hard vw plastics, have worse paint quality, leather that wears out in like 5 years even if maintained properly, panel gaps cause paint to chip, and creeks and generally the plastics deform in just few years time.....audi quality looooool. Bmw def at that level of car id building the most solid and highest quality car. Once you get to 7 series, a8, s class there is no doubt s class is best. Audi is easily at back of the pack, ffs even the rs3 is built with quality of kinder surprise toy.....🤢
I personally have owned both and I honestly think the Audis are just a little bit better. Both are high quality for sure but I just like the Audi look, fit and finish a little more. Sweet Beemer by the way!
GermanInvasion that’s awesome you have both! I’m stuck between an iS convertible and M4 convertible. Thoughts? Also, I don’t plan on keeping either of them long term and only plan to do ECU tunes
!SPOILER ALERT! Episode 2: The 335is sucks...
Gavin, can't find the Episode 2 vid, did you post it?
Gavin Malm how did you launch?
Gavin Malm and why does it suck
I have a 2013 FBO 335IS....the only thing it sucks is E85 and it sh*ts out speed
@@someguy2312 It really doesn't suck. I just bought the wrong car. Should have got a E92 M3.
I still have the 2011 335is convertible and I still love it just like day when I purchased back in 2011.
Flyingaceful are the 335is reliable
@@charliehernandez9844 I'm pretty sure the general consensus is nope.

I have a port injected 335is 700 wheel. XHP DCT transmission tune >
Sick! I bet that thing is a absolute monster.

You will enjoy it. Great car.
I'll be honest. I had some buyers remorse at first but I have since started to enjoy the car a lot more lately.

Its coming soon. Been super busy with work! So far the car is running VRSF Charge Pipe, Tial BOV and MHD tune.

I initially had some buyers remorse with this car but it has grown on me a lot. I’m ready to actually continue this build.
I kept being distracted by that Honda CRV right behind you. I would've just let him pass you.
Pretty sure I was behind a van. That's a much quicker road with no traffic.
Bro, suspension tires first! That’s exactly how I think!
I'm having a hard time convincing myself to actually mod this car. I'm not getting the fizz.
Great car!
Thank you! Can’t wait to drive it out to visit you and the fam!
Unfortunately, your DCT will start slipping above 500 whp
Does the auto in a regular 335i slip as well? also is it true the Manuals handle 700+ while autos struggle
Ale T from what I’ve herd on the forums that’s true
So like a manuals better for hi hp
there are clutch kit that support up to 1200 with dct ive read online. dodson and ssp clutches
Yeah, they can definitely start slipping. I never really built this car up. I ended up putting a ton of miles on it.
Please let me know what mods you will be doing.
Flyingaceful new video coming very soon! I broke the car! Kinda but not really!
Gavin Malm 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

The ones Iv driven must be Broken then because they were way slower than that.
Rj you’re a fkn Idiot. Obviously never drove an is. I still have mine, now tuned. This car is a beast stock. As much fun as my m4cs
I actually have and it was surprisingly slow
