    ZREMB is to Poland as Transporta is to Czechia and Slovakia.

    I remember 11-12 years ago in my home city I went to a soviet building where my relatives were staying with that soviet style lift, which looks like the ones in the video, but the doors were very aggressive as they closed like a crocodile, I think I nearly lost my one of my hands there

      @megalifts ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Idk what lift you were dealing with, but in overall soviet lifts are safe as long as they are well maintained. Almost all of them have door bumpers or door sensors (sensors are rare and almost never work). Also when someone is in the lift, it will not close its doors until you select a floor.

      "closed like a crocodile" 😁

    Surprising that they went with a 2 m/s lift in the 21 floor section and a 3 m/s lift in the 23 floor section. Only sensible explanation I can think of is if Poland has regulations where the lifts have a minimum required speed as a function of maximum distance traveled.
    I doubt that's actually the case, though regulations like that would prevent travesties such as the 1.6 m/s Gen2 serving 38 floors.

    Love the wooden interiors. They sound rather run down. I like the moment of suspense waiting for the doors to open. I really like the orange interior of the new ones. Yes, those pipes are really low. Nice green walls though 😜.
    This is dangerous. Don't try this at home. 😁

    I miss the leveling where the doors start to open 6 inches before reaching the floor. Mind you some of these were not well-adjusted spending far too long on the slow speed. Is there a good reason why you never see this these days?

      Also, door unlatches are not that long on GAL and Euro mechanisms (the only 2 types of mechanism used today). The door zone area (for pre-doors) must be shorter than the unlatcher otherwise the doors will dis-attach.

      @andrewthompsonuk1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@benolifts I am only familiar with the 60 and 70s Otis where the unlatch guides were about a meter long.
      The doors often found themselves on the wrong side of the latches on the lifts at school...

    Were the ZREMB lifts in the highest part of the tower blocks DC or AC drive? You didn't see a lot of Soviet era DC drive lifts, but this one almost seems too fast for a 2 speed AC.

    I wondered if you would go to Lodz eventually. I assume that these blocks would have been originally fitted with lifts from a state owned Communist lift manufacturer.

  • @z3rs4l

    How can you tell the schindler models apart, they seem so similar to me?

    • @benolifts
      @benolifts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The interior is very similar between the 3300 and 5500, but the build quality is very different. You can tell them apart by the behavior of the logic.
      This video shows the differences...

    How can you recognise if lift is a 3300 or a 5500?

    • @benolifts
      @benolifts  ปีที่แล้ว

      3300 Has no pre-door or pre-start when 5500 does. Also 5500 has controlled overrun bounce back levelling.
      3300 has crap sounding doors, when 5500 doors go "whoooo" (and 3300+ doors are half way between the two)
      3300 has a cheap chassisless feel and wobbles a bit and also rumbles up the shaft when 5500 is smooth and sturdy
      3300 has logic cabinet in door frame when 5500 has a proper cabinet
      3300 only announces the floor (and has either 3300 voice or smart voice) when 5500 announces everything (and either has Schindler international voice or eurolift voice).
      5500 has full miconic behavior and features when 300 has a shitty logic.
