Astro Van - Fixing the Sliding Door, Fuel Panel and Door Locks | Stealth Camper Van Build - Part 6!

- In this video, I tackle a few projects that needed to be tackled for a long while. I fix the sliding door that keeps falling off, I add a gasket and stronger hardware tot he access panel to the fuel pump and I replace all the door locks with faulty locks by accident.
All this is done on my Stealth Camper Astro Van

Heck yeah! I’ll have a video on how to replace all the brakes tomorrow.
Just a suggestion: The bearings in the rollers need lubrication, not the track. If you lubricate the track and not the roller bearings, the rollers can slide resulting in flat spots on the rollers. The lubrication needs to be put in the bearings. The track does not need lubrication, just cleaning.

How did you get the cover plate off the door track?
Good videos - On the sliding door there is a catch at the rear of the bottom track. It holds the door open until you give it a firm tug. I believe mine is broken. I watched hoping to find out what a part is called. Thanks Oh yeah, 2003 astro

Hey, i have the same van and i was wondering if you could help me design a way to get ventilation by installing a vent grate behind the license plate. 🤔 i want to make the plate stick out about an inch and have screened airflow coming in and out from behind the plate.
😎i don't want anyone to notice its there. I plan to use a USB computer fan on the inside of that door.
I have a couple ideas i need to draw, but i don't mind picking your brain for ideas.😁😊

Please keep posting on this van! Me and my Bf are doing the same to our Astro. We also need to replace the door slider. Could you please link the one you got, and has it worked well since you installed it?
The door slider I got actually doesn’t fit perfectly and the way I “modified” it makes the door sag a bit at the rear.
That is due to the backwards orientation of the mount.
I would actually pull one off a wrecked van next time.

Hey guys, I just bought an 03 Astro and the sliding door is stuck closed, any ideas on how to open it?
I imagine the handle isn't actuating properly. Try lubricating the moving components, then if you can, start taking apart the door panel

Hello I have a 1997 Astro and I need to replace the sliding door hinge rollers hinge pin and bushing but I can't seem to find them anywhere here in Canada could you tell me where you were able to find yours , many thanks . Shaun .
I bought mine, its a new aftermarket one, off of eBay, however, I had to do some slight modifying with washers as spacer to allow the door to shut properly. I recommend buying a lightly used example off eBay or pick one from a junk yard.
