During the football game, Juan Rico (Casper Van Dien from Sleepy Hollow and Deadwater) is jealous when he sees Carmen Ibanez (Denise Richards from Wild Things and Scary Movie 3) talking and laughing with Zander (Patrick Muldoon from A Christmas Reunion). Juan pushes Zander and tells him to stay away from his girlfriend. The two men make the match a personal matter, to show who is the better man. Juan's team, the Tigers, wins.

It's the Tony the Tigers versus the Fro-Zone Giants. They may be fascist, but at least they allow co-ed teams, which is a little confusing, but not as confusing as AT&T wanting to be associated with this bleak and violent future! I'm certain I'll have more questions than this film will have answers!

Really fun scene but no one going to talk about Rico over here channeling the Force and Flipping 10 feet in the air over his opponents? lol Stupid fun movie and it delivers stupid fun moments which made it so great! Movies are about escaping life and this did that in aces!

I watched this movie when I saw Denise Richards I fell in love with Denise Richards she's so beautiful and so gorgeous she was the girl of my dreams

Announcer: "And Rico is in there."
Announcer 2: "Great catch and great play and oh boy we've got a flag down."

Announcer 2: "Yah this is confusing Mike. Taking another look no contact is made and the defenders simply run into each other."
Announcer: "Well this changes everything, the Tigers are now back 10 yards and have 2 seconds left."
*Tigers throw incomplete pass*
Announcer 2: "oooh and that one hurts... and as you can see the Giants player is over on the sideline banging Rico's girlfriend."

My fav part of this clip? When Dez issues Rico that sidelong wakeup smack and basically tells him to get his head out of his ass.
You have to admit for this semi fascist society they are very progressive when it comes to equality between men and women. The football teams have mixed gender and later in the army you can see men and women showering together without anyone being weird about it.
That's deliberately some, as sexuality is suppressed in service to the state. You literally need to fill out paperwork and be a citizen(military service) to get approved to have kids.

The sad thing is, Carmen was nice to zander because she doesn't love johnny enough that she wants to be faithful enough to him. Afterall, if she loved him enough, she wouldn't have dumped him. Am I wrong?
If she didn't love him, she wouldn't have been emotional when she thought he was dead.

@@fanso76 Of course, she liked him as a person, and maybe in a way Zander was "more her type", but it's pretty clear from the deleted scenes (plus her mourning his death and her reaction to when she saw he was alive) that she did love Johnny, even if she put her career and aspirations before anything. I don't even think she was that deeply invested with Zander either. He just coincided with her ambition, they had chemistry, and a heavily flirtatious relationship, but it wasn't anything that would've lead to anything that deep (even if, well, he were to live). Zander was just there to guide and help her along her path until his death, but Carmen had her sights set on one thing, and that was her career, being a pilot and lieutenant.
@@SuperBrianMak good argument. Its pretty clear that carmen does'nt seem to reciprocate the feelings johnny has for her. Ive often used the argument she was more attracted to zander, but another argument to use is that she put her career before a relationship and that she wasnt really any more interested in zander than she was in johnny. She just wanted to put her career first and didnt feel it was going to make it easy for a relationship with johnny anymore rather than because she specifically liked zander more. Its all up to interpretation.
Umm no, Zander was the one who took advantage of Carmen when she was mourning for Johnny. Even in the books Carmen is more into Juan, so that's canon to begin with. And secondly, she never did stop loving him and only gave Zander sex when she didn't know what else to do, and when Johnny was alive that whole thing that they had was over just as fast as it was built up. So no..she doesn't return those affections to Zander, there's the explanation.

No Rico was justified as Carmen had given up on them already. She was going to become an officer and fly. Rico failed to get in and she was already ready to get out when that happened. Then in comes a cute guy who is going to the same academy she is going to and she starts flirting with him. She's not chasing Rico or Zander, she's chasing success and status. After Zander dies and Rico becomes a hero and an officer she gets back with him. It's about standing with her.
