I want one so bad! I love that manufacturers like Honda are still producing air cooled engines. Not everyone wants a liquid cooled race machine. People like me want a reliable, tractor like machine with low maintenance. THANK YOU! And the fact that it has fuel injection. Drool. I hope this breeds competition with the other Japanese manufacturers.
Just went to the international motorcycle show in downtown Dallas today (Jan. 5th), and the Honda exhibit had one of these. It looks really good in person. I sat on it, and it feels really, really good! Very nice seat, it's narrow but not as narrow as the 250R, and it's fairly soft, not a wooden plank like the MX bikes. Also I leaned the bike side to side and it doesn't feel heavy at all, they apparently got the center of gravity quite low, and it feels really good. The suspension feels pretty firm when sort of bouncing on the bike some. Another thing I noticed, the fit and finish is excellent, and the attention to detail is superb. The last thing is the tires. Maybe switch out the stock tires (not that great looking), for some Michelin Starcross 5 tires or whatever your favorite knobby is.
I'm very excited for this bike. I have a 2015 CRF230F that I bought new and got my son the CRF125. He's now bigger than me and will get the 230. Old Dad gets the new 250. Can't wait!
It’s great to see Efi on these bikes. This would also make a nice street bike like the 230L was. Now if we could just convince Suzuki to do the same on their DRZ and DR.
I used to have a Yamaha TT-R 250. It was such a nice trail bike, but I wished that it had a lower seat, and a smaller gas tank. Honda has been reading my mind. This CRF 250F has 35" seat. (1 inch lower than the TT-R) and a 1.6 gallon tank. (The TT-R tank was 2.7 gal) These bikes are so good on gas that you don't need to carry the extra 6 lbs of fuel over your front wheel.

Im 35, 5’10”, 175lbs. I just bought this bike 2 weeks ago. This is my first bike ever. So far i rarely shift into 3rd gear while on the trails. 2nd gear will throw me around if im nit careful. I dont plan on doing any mods anytime in the future.
Ok Honda... you seriously have my attention. And I ride a 450x, but this bike is just reminiscent of the XR250. I just might be buying this for a second bike. I can't wait to see how people will mod these things.
But no headlight, tail light or odometer? XR's had those years ago and they were immensely useful for off road riding in low light conditions? What would that have added? $100 to the cost of the bike?
Even WET 265LBS is heavy(kinda sucks)! I'll have to test drive one on the trails! 280cc(CRF280F) coming in at 265 wet with lights would have been awesomer!

whats the difference between crf250x vs crf250r vs crf250f? seems to be the same bikes, the X has a headlight and taillight. just trying to see why pay 8k for the R when the F is only 4.5K
How is the new suspension compared to the 230f. I usually ride various 250f models however im 52. 200 lbs. And way too many broken bone's just looking to have fun now. Am i too heavy. Also. Is it still going to be low maintainens???

I love this bike, I just wish it was a 350-400. Being a trail bike it's not beholden to race specific displacements. I'd like a bit more displacement for my fat butt.
Thankful Honda hasn't forgotten about their "play bike" lineup but I would love to see some better forks. This new bike weighs about 15 pounds more than the predecessor and has an inch less of front suspension travel...
@@slayerson1 I'm hoping that since they went with a 5 speed gearbox, and since the engine is larger and a little more powerful, that they will be using a wide ratio gearbox for those five speeds. I would hate to buy one, only to discover the top speed is absurdly low.

Defining a trail bike meaning all the Japanese motorcycle manufacturers have forgotten what one is. A trail bike is between a trials bike and an enduro bike, it as a 21 inch front and an 18 inch back wheel, it has a low front mudguard, it has lights and indicators. it is simple to maintain for it has a air cooled single cylinder , single overhead cam engine with lock and nut tappet adjusters with carburettor or a simple fuel injection system and an engine size between 125cc to 400cc the most popular would be 250cc. it has a fuel tank of no less than 12 L. it as a dual seat with passenger pegs and the seat height of no more than 830mm. meaning it is people friendly. The trail bike. where has it gone when is it coming back.? If you put the word trail bike into the search engine and what do you get, big adventure bikes, off-road bikes ,super Moto bikes , but no trail bikes.

Your brand new 250 trail bike is reasonable but I still can’t afford it. I’ve got a good bike but just need more power. I have a 2006 Susuki drz 125 black edition. Honda is becoming my favorite bike though. Wish I could have one.

I really like this bike, I'm seriously thinking about retiring my old XR250R and getting one of these when they come out.

You missed power output, weight, fuel capacity, seat height and ground clearance. All very important factors.
