@@patro7177 the rasengan isn’t a wind release jutsu. It’s not an elemental jutsu at all. Kakashi used an unaltered rasengan which isn’t an elemental jutsu. It only became a wind release jutsu when naruto added wind chakra and created the rasen shuriken.
This is as good as I got for you. Fire- heating up the chakra. Lightning- vibrating the chakra. Wind- flattening the chakra into a gajillion tiny blades. Earth- channeling the chakra through the earth. Water- channeling the chakra through water. The last two are pretty lame and uncreative.

Well to me Chakra Natures were something that your body was already partially creating at all times. For example Itachi's chakra would always have a bit of regular fire nature chakra in it, so the transformation is already done for the most part. This would explain why learning the opposite Chakra Nature is so difficult since your body has to completely change from one form into another and then into another.
Does the whole consept of optic nerves not regrowing not apply? It's like you can just pop them in and out like accerories to an action figure like Rescue Heroes.
Philip Hockenbury L8 reply but they use med jutsu to regrow those. When Madara stole Obito's sharigan from Kakashi you can see the green chakra right after he puts the eye in his socket.
Seven years later, these are still the best videos on TH-cam explaining concepts from Naruto. Especially Chakra Natures and the elemental releases. They still hold up, but I wonder if remastered, longer versions of these videos would have any new information considering how many years it’s been.
So Orochimaru, the first 3 Hokage's, and Muu (my personal favorite kage) are the only known ones in the series to have mastered all chakra nature's. I guess it could make sense for Orochimaru, Hiruzen, and Muu using different nature's, but for Hashirama and Tobirama, it just feels weird. Anyone agree?

N. Mercer well yang release only restores what a person genetically has: kakashi had his original eyeball restored and not a sharingan. THEREFORE... it is impossible for an uchiha who can only be given yin release from spirit of indra to have yang since spirit of ashura only goes to senju members.

I believe that wood release is just a combination of water/earth and medical ninjustu due to it creating live wood and probably no one thought to add yang to it. That’s probably why white zetsu had trees sprouting out when they got near/defeated by naruto due to him releasing a lot of yang chakra.
Personally in the nature circle I would switch earth and lightning. It makes little sense that lightning overpowers earth when the ground itself is a natural isolator that absorbs and disperses lighting. More over lightning that passes through pure water will seperate I to oxygen and hydrogen, pretty much vaporizing it. Kishimoto is weird
What about the effects of chakra natures have on the others that are not right next to each other. For example- does water have an advantage over wind or do earth techniques have an advantage over fire? Just asking
Techinically the Kekkei Tota isn't a born-thing using Fire Wind and Earth. It simply requires full mastery of those 3 elements and not an affinity for all 3. Mu stated he could teach the "secret" to using it to any ninja who had said mastery (like Hashi/Tobi/Hiru/Oroch), but he only ever did teach it to Ohnoki (who had a natural affinity to Earth style only, but had mastered those 3).
Lightning is the strongest of the 5 basic element in naruto. Countless applications, you can do lightning sword, aoe lightning, boost strength and speed, lightning nuke, body armor etc.
Jidokwan CXCIII the rasengan dosent have to have a chakara nature combined to it. you can add any chakara nature to the rasengan. naruto does this to make different chakara nature rasen shurikens(which originates from adding wind nature to the rasengan) from the chakara he got from the tailed beast
i think there's a difference between being able to use a few jutsu of an affinity and actually mastering that affinity. yeah kakashi's affinity is lightning but with how many jutsu he seems to know and with the variety of chakra natures, i'd say he's mastered all five or can at least use a few from each. i mean, just because some one can play chess, that does not mean they are a master of it so i guess it really depends on what _you_ consider to be mastery.

Just physics really. Fire needs oxygen to breath. So using that as a measure, if two techniques are at the same level of power, the fire technique would feed on the wind, growing in nature and power to be used against the person who cast the wind technique. While its only strong against it at the same level or higher, you can take it the other way. If the wind technique is A-rank in terms of power and the fire technique is c-rank or b-rank in power, the wind technique will most likely disperse it enough that its snuffed out or just not be able to sustain itself under the wind. At least that's my idea on it.
Kyouran 53 depends on the way u release the wind. u can block the fire release, or make it enormous. but again it depends on the way u use the wind release but it is not weak to it.
An interesting little theory point about Chakra Natures: "Nature" refers to the properties the chakra has, not that it literally BECOMES that thing. Chakra is the spiritual energy of one's soul combined with their physical energy to give it substance and then projected out into the world; it naturally has a set of properties and exists as a separate force. Because it's a spiritual energy (Yin), it can be manipulated by one's understanding and training, and those alterations are reinforced when it's given physical form (Yang). A lot of Ninja use this to have their chakra mimic the 5 basic elements, because they're easy enough for most ninja to do. But this doesn't actually make the chakra BECOME the thing it's mimicking; that would be Yin-Yang Release, creating physical objects from chakra that don't need to be SUSTAINED by that chakra to continue existing. So it's easier to think about Chakra Nature as making your chakra HAVE the properties of an element, rather than BECOMING the element, which to me makes wrapping your head around nature affinity easier. If you can't make your chakra mimic earth, you won't be able to perform Earth Style Ninjutsu, therefore having an affinity for Earth Nature Transformation is a prerequisite to using Earth Style rather than something that makes you BETTER at Earth Style. Additionally, it makes thinking about how Kekkei Genkai work easier. Each nature has a set of properties they impart upon their ninjutsu, so combining two natures creates a new nature that takes properties from both. This accounts for how different Kekkei Genkai users can use WILDLY different jutsu using the same Nature Transformation, because each of them is combining the properties in slightly different ways (looking at you, Lava Style), and it can help work out what a Nature Combo might be because they aren't LITERAL combinations of two elements, but a FIGURATIVE combination. For instance, Earth Style chakra has properties like "Solid, Brittle, Defensive, Compressed," and Lightning Style chakra has properties like "Energetic, Disruptive, Nullification." By combining Earth's Brittle/Compressed with Lightning's Energetic/Disruptive, you create Explosion Style. But theoretically if you combined the Solid/Defensive properties of Earth with the Nullification of Lightning, you could get an ENTIRELY different type of Nature Transformation, something like "Hard Light" or maybe "Adamantine."

So this confuses me, who are these videos intended for? Because as a newcomer to Naruto (currently working through the Pain arc, first watch-thru) These videos have already spoiled a few things for me, most not major.. a few.. kinda irritating but okay. Sharingan doesnt copy chakra natures though. It copies jutsu but the user has to be able to shape and change their chakra natures to match the elemental jutsu that they have copied. So kakashi should be on this list as well since data book has confirmed that he knows all 5 basic nature types including yin and yang (he has d rank genjutsu without sharingan and his seal on sasukes curse mark was also ying yang release

He doesn't have them mastered or anything he just can copy them, so while he can use them all it's only as a result of copying it through his sharingan and not by means of learning and mastering them.

Well to me Chakra Natures were something that your body was already partially creating at all times.
For example Itachi's chakra would always have a bit of regular fire nature chakra in it, so the transformation is already done for the most part. This would explain why learning the opposite Chakra Nature is so difficult since your body has to completely change from one form into another and then into another.

So Orochimaru, the first 3 Hokage's, and Muu (my personal favorite kage) are the only known ones in the series to have mastered all chakra nature's.
I guess it could make sense for Orochimaru, Hiruzen, and Muu using different nature's, but for Hashirama and Tobirama, it just feels weird.

I believe that wood release is just a combination of water/earth and medical ninjustu due to it creating live wood and probably no one thought to add yang to it.
That’s probably why white zetsu had trees sprouting out when they got near/defeated by naruto due to him releasing a lot of yang chakra.
Water + Earth + Yang = Wood
Water + Earth + Yin = Crystal

Personally in the nature circle I would switch earth and lightning. It makes little sense that lightning overpowers earth when the ground itself is a natural isolator that absorbs and disperses lighting. More over lightning that passes through pure water will seperate I to oxygen and hydrogen, pretty much vaporizing it. Kishimoto is weird

Techinically the Kekkei Tota isn't a born-thing using Fire Wind and Earth. It simply requires full mastery of those 3 elements and not an affinity for all 3. Mu stated he could teach the "secret" to using it to any ninja who had said mastery (like Hashi/Tobi/Hiru/Oroch), but he only ever did teach it to Ohnoki (who had a natural affinity to Earth style only, but had mastered those 3).

Lightning is the strongest of the 5 basic element in naruto. Countless applications, you can do lightning sword, aoe lightning, boost strength and speed, lightning nuke, body armor etc.

Jidokwan CXCIII the rasengan dosent have to have a chakara nature combined to it. you can add any chakara nature to the rasengan. naruto does this to make different chakara nature rasen shurikens(which originates from adding wind nature to the rasengan) from the chakara he got from the tailed beast
i think there's a difference between being able to use a few jutsu of an affinity and actually mastering that affinity. yeah kakashi's affinity is lightning but with how many jutsu he seems to know and with the variety of chakra natures, i'd say he's mastered all five or can at least use a few from each. i mean, just because some one can play chess, that does not mean they are a master of it so i guess it really depends on what _you_ consider to be mastery.

Just physics really. Fire needs oxygen to breath. So using that as a measure, if two techniques are at the same level of power, the fire technique would feed on the wind, growing in nature and power to be used against the person who cast the wind technique. While its only strong against it at the same level or higher, you can take it the other way. If the wind technique is A-rank in terms of power and the fire technique is c-rank or b-rank in power, the wind technique will most likely disperse it enough that its snuffed out or just not be able to sustain itself under the wind. At least that's my idea on it.
Kyouran 53 depends on the way u release the wind. u can block the fire release, or make it enormous. but again it depends on the way u use the wind release but it is not weak to it.

An interesting little theory point about Chakra Natures:
"Nature" refers to the properties the chakra has, not that it literally BECOMES that thing. Chakra is the spiritual energy of one's soul combined with their physical energy to give it substance and then projected out into the world; it naturally has a set of properties and exists as a separate force. Because it's a spiritual energy (Yin), it can be manipulated by one's understanding and training, and those alterations are reinforced when it's given physical form (Yang).
A lot of Ninja use this to have their chakra mimic the 5 basic elements, because they're easy enough for most ninja to do. But this doesn't actually make the chakra BECOME the thing it's mimicking; that would be Yin-Yang Release, creating physical objects from chakra that don't need to be SUSTAINED by that chakra to continue existing. So it's easier to think about Chakra Nature as making your chakra HAVE the properties of an element, rather than BECOMING the element, which to me makes wrapping your head around nature affinity easier. If you can't make your chakra mimic earth, you won't be able to perform Earth Style Ninjutsu, therefore having an affinity for Earth Nature Transformation is a prerequisite to using Earth Style rather than something that makes you BETTER at Earth Style.
Additionally, it makes thinking about how Kekkei Genkai work easier. Each nature has a set of properties they impart upon their ninjutsu, so combining two natures creates a new nature that takes properties from both. This accounts for how different Kekkei Genkai users can use WILDLY different jutsu using the same Nature Transformation, because each of them is combining the properties in slightly different ways (looking at you, Lava Style), and it can help work out what a Nature Combo might be because they aren't LITERAL combinations of two elements, but a FIGURATIVE combination.
For instance, Earth Style chakra has properties like "Solid, Brittle, Defensive, Compressed," and Lightning Style chakra has properties like "Energetic, Disruptive, Nullification." By combining Earth's Brittle/Compressed with Lightning's Energetic/Disruptive, you create Explosion Style. But theoretically if you combined the Solid/Defensive properties of Earth with the Nullification of Lightning, you could get an ENTIRELY different type of Nature Transformation, something like "Hard Light" or maybe "Adamantine."

Honestly, these videos are awesome. Unfortunately they have way to many spoilers for a noob.. but a well-versed fan that is caught up wouldn't need these videos. So this confuses me, who are these videos intended for? Because as a newcomer to Naruto (currently working through the Pain arc, first watch-thru) These videos have already spoiled a few things for me, most not major.. a few.. kinda irritating but okay.
That's all, I think you're doing a great job. The videos are well made, not long winded, good info etc. but, the spoilers make them unwatchable until I finish the series.. So I'll be back then I guess lol keep up the good work and try to avoid spoilers or put warnings in the new videos! I have friends that just started as well, and I'd love to recommend this channel but they hate spoilers more than I do!

Sharingan doesnt copy chakra natures though. It copies jutsu but the user has to be able to shape and change their chakra natures to match the elemental jutsu that they have copied. So kakashi should be on this list as well since data book has confirmed that he knows all 5 basic nature types including yin and yang (he has d rank genjutsu without sharingan and his seal on sasukes curse mark was also ying yang release
