I found this documentary quite biased and unfair to Lou Reed for not including any interviews with him. Even if this film was made after his death there must be a big archive of interviews where he talked about the Velvet Underground. His point of view is missing.
they did include interviews with him?? they're played as audio over many parts throughout the film, I reckon they didn't include the video of it if there was any because it may not have aesthetically fit in with the rest of the other interviews. you could argue his presence in those interview clips is not equal to those of the other members, but that's just the unfortunate luck of him passing a good while before the documentary was being made. I wouldn't make the assumption that there is a HUGE archive of interviews from him and that the filmmakers didn't go through whatever interviews there were of him, Lou wasn't as forthcoming and open to interviews to the same degree as most big rockstars, and it's less likely the quality of questions being asked in that interview could have led to useful insight to the story being told in the documentary
Thank you for making this. Been listening to TVU for years, they make me feel at easy and in peace. Wish they released more albums though. My favorite song is ''Oh! Sweat Nuthin'!'' from Loaded. Underrated band, Beatles quality.
How come I haven't heard about this before have been a fan for a long time..must of been out when I were crazy zone 😲😜😆 new york scene at its best!!!! 💋💘🎶😎
In terms of pop music for the masses of people yeah. VU+Nico is a 60s pop album with some interesting sounds. But looking at the Velvets in the context of underground music, they create it. You could say they were the first "alternative rock" band. And i use that lightly.
Left everybody hypnotized
Revolutionary doco from Haynes - so underseen

The banana, the black album and the grey album are all equally phenomenal and influential
Right, because Candy Says, Sweet Jane, Rock and Roll, Oh Sweet Nuthin, etc are are not good. Thank you for enlightening us. 🙄
