Degesu acting the way he did this episode makes sense. He put all his faith in Gomah to handle this problem. And he never doubted him until the past couple episodes. With turning off Warp-Sama and when he hesitated last episode about his confidence in the Gendermarie Force. He’s ambitious, yet impulsive. Look how quick he was to try and kill Dende in the first episode. He panicked after realizing Gomah didn’t have a real plan that didn’t involve the third eye.
i was walking around campus while listening to this and the sudden gohan impressions had me looking like a psychopath laughing at seemingly nothing

Finally Gomah is a threat and the stakes increasing. I’m excited for the final episodes.
If Ajay doesn't fire the Chekhov's Gun by showing his face and overcoming his shyness, then this will truly be thr Daima of podcasts.
They spent the entire show telling us to be careful of Gomah because he’s powerful for him to do absolutely nothing until getting the 3rd eye.
Why was he powerful again? Feels like a let down.
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it characters like Glorio and panzy saying that, which from their perspective maybe he is, but I agree it should have been shown how powerful he was at the very least before the third eye.

Also I laugh my ass off every time they cycle back to Ajay "hating" episode 8 and loving episode 13, it has to come up every single podcast lmao

Gohan being in the narrated prologue will be so hilarious if he doesn't show up with Kibito at the end, another random thing in Daima that amounted to nothing lol.
I think how this shoe fares on rewatch is super interesting. I remember being very annoyed by a lot of the stuff in the Tournament of Power for example, like the U2 girls, bc I viewed their comedy and presence as a deterrent for that week whereas I was pretty endeared to them when I was allowed to binge that arc and consume it on my own pace and on my own terms.
A lot of that depends on how Daima finishes out though. If it ends on a whimper then obviously these recent episodes will feel even worse to rewatch, but I actually do expect a strong ending for Daima.

Degesu was always very Staff Officer Black-coded to me. He seemed like he would play the role of the usurper and be the guy who used the third eye, but I guess he got kicked off the main bad guy list, unfortunately.
This is my exact thought too
i thought that too, and while technically still true. the issue is more how it's executed. Black's disillusionment with red was pretty well laid out, its established fairly early of what specific intentions he was following red on to in extent. when he realizes what kind of person Red is, it makes complete sense that he'd defact ntm it's been awhile but his end is him:
-shooting red
-pretty sure he tried to offer goku a job
-ends with him escaping and through a robot jet and goku blasting him
all fairly paced and laid out and generally tense within the realms of what the series was for the time.
with degesu, his reasoning and choice to act now makes no sense and all basically happens in 1 episode. there's hardly any escalation both due to the gap in power but also how incompetent he's been shown to be up til now.
black was never a challenge for goku, but not only were his reasonings understandable and realistic, he's also more competent. the fact that he shot his boss at all is a heck of a statement.
similar to the "supreme kai compared to Future trunks because they have the same role" thing. degesu never has a moment to actually show off anything good or interesting he brings to the table. no backstory either to make us either sympathize or at least understand how his internal logic works
trunks is about the same and while he was fairly useless. he never gets hit with that stick becuase the circumstances that lead him to become that are easy to understand

Am I the only one who enjoyed this episode and was relieved after the last sucked? I loved that they found Dende by sensing him. They found him right away. I love when shows don’t forget their own lore, which is what it felt like last episode
No youre not. It was better than the last episode, but I still think this episode could have been better if the show's pacing was not so...padded out.
I am very optimistic for this week's episode though!

I hate that they found him by sensing his ki, it just begs the question why didn't Goku just teleport to him immediately, did they just forget he can do it?
At least before you could assume baby Dende's ki was too weak or something but now that excuse went out of the window.
I’m progressively starting too hate Mark after each podcast.
IMO these last two episodes feel like they should have been condensed and fit into a single episode which would've helped the pacing tremendously. Overall though after a slow start the second half of episode 16 had me legitimately excited again as all of these characters and plot points are finally coalescing!
I love the podcast and look forward to each episode. Ya'll are great but last few eps Mark be HATINGGG

I can't believe THIS was the episode they were going to have a special viewing for. The Temu Ginyu Force and the worlds most underwhelming glind.
I would've loved to see how the crowd reacted to that, because they no doubt would've tried to hype up the episode prior to showing it off to them. Especially given how less tolerant the average western Dragon Ball fan is towards this kind of thing to begin with.
Man, I can wait to hear the disappointment in this episode, lol. I suffered through it. I just couldn’t understand why no one seemed to be in a rush for anything. And don’t even get me started on Degesu…

Mark and tyson proving to all the other anime Fandom that draginball z heads only care about fancy fight scenes lol. Since besides the fight scene(which had no story to it besides showing to the world 3 residents that goku is strong lol), what was so good about that episode?
bro almost every episode has had fighting in it and they've hated almost every single bit of it. they even jokingly criticize Ajay because it seems like he'd eat up anything if its animated well, even Ajay got into it!
obv that's not true, but they straight up explain why they like it so much. they don't like it because it's just "a fight" otherwise they'd like everything in this series. they liked it due to the way is built up to and paid off and how the story continued into the fight showcasing gokus character with no dialogue through the choices he made throughout. 3 had a personality, the fight takes advantage of the actual size change the characters went under, and it's paced well to them. not being too long or too short.
like literally go back and watch the early ones or just Marks vid on daima. they were extremely positive and hopeful.
i thought this episode sucked and almost everyone and every youtuber i've seen discuss it feels the same basically EXCEPT for these 3.
tyson the only one i know even found the gendamarie force funny to begin with.

Also mark is a literal scrooge everytime he's on screen becuase he's decided to kill himself with working so hard. Also the fact he doesn't find even the hamster cute just shows that this show isn't for him and it's for the og dragonball fans who love kid goku going on a silly adventure story.

Eh, for Goku not teleporting to Dende when he sensed him I can think he didn’t do it cause he had others with him. It takes more energy teleport multiple people than it does just himself
