Here are the harmonica tabs for the Beatles’ I Should’ve Known Better, and these get repeated:
-23 -23 34 -34 34
-23 -23 34 -34 34
If today’s your first day here are the harmonica tabs for Love Me Do:
-45 45 -34 -12 -12 -12
If you know how to play single notes, let’s get into how John Lennon plays the harmonica part to Love Me Do on the recording.
Here’s the first line of Love Me Do harmonica tabs:
-5 5 -4 -2 -2 -2 -2
-5 5 -4 -2 -2 -2 -2
Wah wah wah Wah wah wah
-5 5 -4 -2 -2 -2 4 -3
Tongue roll
-2 -2 (pause) -2 -2 -2 4 -3
We’ll return to this song in level 8 to give you advanced players a great bending workout in the 2nd section of this song. But for now, let’s move onto level 3:
From Me to You
This song is originally in the key of G and was likely played on a chromatic harmonica with a button, but we can pretty easily play this in 12th position in the key of F.
Here are the harmonica tabs for the Beatles’ From Me to You:
-5 6 -6 6 -5 6 6 -4.
Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da
Released on the white album in 1968, this song has a fun Jamaican ska feel and the melody is super-easy if you can isolate notes.
4 5 6 4 5 6 4 5 6 7
-5 5 -5 5 -5 5 4
Yesterday
This is the C major scale ascending is: 4 -4 5 -5 6 -6 -7 7
This is the C major scale descending is: 7 -7 -6 6 -5 5 -4 4.
If you memorize that scale,👆🏼 it will help provide context for you to learn this song.
-4 4 4
5 -5 6 -6 -7 7 -7 -6 -6
-6 -6 6 -5 5 -4 -5 5 5
-4 4 5 -4 -3 4 5 5
If you’re digging this stuff, I teach of these Beatles songs very slowly and methodically in my Beginner to Boss course (as well as providing you with all the fundamentals you need to become a harmonica boss.😎)
Let it Be
Here are the harmonica tabs in C for the Beatles’ Let it Be:
3 3 3 -3” 4 3 3 4 -4
5 5 5 -4 -4 4 4
5 5 -5 5 5 -4
5 -4 -4 4
5 -4 4
5 6 -6
6 6 5 4 4 -3” 5
5 5 -5 5 5 -4 5 -4 -4 4
And here’s a cool little riff we can throw in at the end, that kinda mimics the piano bit on the original recording:
-56 56 -45 45 -34 34 -23 23 1234
Hey Jude
Released as a single in 1968, Hey Jude sold over 8 million copies, went to #1 in multiple countries, and is on many critics’ lists of the best songs of all time.
This song is originally in the key of F (again I’d recommend a Low F harmonica to play along with the recording.)
The reason this is level 6 is because there are lots of skips and lots of -7’s and -8’s which can be challenging for beginners. These are the tips for getting good clean high notes.
1.) Let gravity lower your jaw so that it's totally relaxed and in a nice "aw" vowel shape, your teeth should be far apart from each other
2.) Keep the back of your tongue down, like it is when you yawn. Make sure it's not in the "Kk" zone (how your tongue is when you say a "Kk" consonant.)
3.) Nice steady, GENTLE, airflow. Most beginners (and many intermediate and advanced players) use WAY to much pressure.
Here are the harmonica tabs for the Beatles’ Hey Jude:
6 5 5 6 -6 -4
-4 5 -5 7
7 -7 6 -6 6 -5 5
6 -6 -6 -6 -8 7
-7 7 -6 6
4 -4 5 -6 6
6 -5 5 -3 4
For the classic outro here are 3 options:
You can play this in the lower octave (requires a bend)
1 2 3 -4 4 -4 4
-4 4 -4 4 -3” 3
You can play this is in the upper octave
4 5 6 -8 7 -8 7
-8 7 -8 7 -6 6
For advanced players you could also do splits
14 25 36 -48 47 -48 47
-48 47 -48 47
And for the final 2 notes you can end with double-stops like this:
-56 56
Or if you wanna be super-advanced you can try Splits-with-a-bend. I first attempted trying this technique after I heard the queen of harmonica Indiara Sfair do it on here C Minor Improvisation. ❗Caution: these tabs look weird!
-3”6 36 -3”6 36
Love Me Do (pt. II)
This was most likely played on a chromatic harmonica with a button on the side.
There is evidence in interviews with John Lennon where he implied that he played this on a chromatic (which would make sense because this is a very professional level of precision on the diatonic that’s require to play this.)
Still, we can play this on a standard diatonic harmonica, and for intermediate & advanced players, this is a fun and challenging workout.
Here are the harmonica tabs for the second half of the Beatles’ Love Me Do:
-3” -3” 3 -2’
-2 -2” 2 -1 - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
Many years ago I learnt to play guitar with the Beatles, and now I'm learning the harmonica with them! Thanks a lot and greetings from Russia!

Greetings from Ohio, USA! I'm a harmonica player in progress and a Beatles fan (you could tell by my username and profile picture).
I love your page so much. I have Let it Be pinned on my tiktok with a photo of my daughter. It helped when my father died, so I returned to it and took it to heart. I let it be. Thanks again.

Brilliant. Really enjoyable watch and you made it fun to learn. Thank you

Good stuff Luke. Love Me Do sounds fuller with the double stops for my ears.
Yes double-stops, splits, chords all increase blues horsepower. You and I and Joe Filisko all agree on this! 😎
My fave ever Beatles song, since the beginning, the harmonica makes it.
Great lesson mate :). Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you so much!

Thx 👌😎👍👍👍
Fantastico👍😁👏👏👏

Great set of songs to play, could you teach any of Wall of voodoo songs with harmonica?
Sure - Mexican Radio on a C harmonica: -6 -6 -6 5 5 5 -6 6. I'll do a Ring of Fire short. But do any of their songs actually have harmonica?
@@Harmonicacom Yes some of the songs on their album Dark continent like Animal Day for instance, also the singer Stan Ridgway plays harmonica on his solo albums after he left the band. The single Don't box me in, is great though he plays with a chromatic harmonica so I guess it's hard to play it with a diatonic.
The draw on the harmonica is much harder for me as playing single notes so I wouldn't say "I should have known better" is the easiest but great tutorials 👏👏
Hmm. Are you using the deep relaxed mouth position? th-cam.com/video/3a_aXi1q8oY/w-d-xo.html
If you are, and you keep the back of the tongue and jaw, dropped and relaxed, you should be in good shape for low these draws?
@@Harmonicacom Thank you, I will check this out as soon as I'm home 🤗
@@HarmonicacomIt really helps, thanks a lot 🤩
U r absolutely 💯 awesome
Thank you so much Lynn. 😀 Rock on! 😎

That's great and I've learned something new with blow 3 = draw 2! But in the harmonica solo of Love Me Do ... all the notes are not there on a diatonic. Lennon told Brian Jones that he had a button on his harmonica?
Hey John - Awesome. And yes, you are correct that Lennon played a chromatic on the solo, but it IS possible to play it on a diatonic as I show in level 8. Rock on my brother!
How do i blow chords on i Should have know better? Fab video ❤
th-cam.com/video/hWhBP-m8q0o/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Odh4DSKxL6R6KGeC&t=77
-23 -23 34 -34 34
-23 -23 34 -34 34
If there's a minus that's a draw.
If there's no minus, that's a blow.
Make sense?
Rock on! 😎
@@Harmonicacom thanks! I'll try!
It’s my understanding that that John was definitely playing a chromatic harmonica on Love Me Do was a chromatic (you can hear in the second part that the notes have been achieved without bending). The legend has it that the harmonica in question was stolen by John whilst in Hamburg, but I don’t know if that’s true.
Yeah the 2nd half undoubtedly is chromatic. I'm not 100% convinced that the opening line is played. The way he wails on the -5 sound like a diatonic to me.
Мечта. Просто восторг Владивосток.
FYI, From Me To You is in the key of C.
What harmonica should a beginner choose?
www.harmonica.com/which-harmonica-to-buy/
i would of prefer somer leesson about "little child" and no let it be or hey jude which they don't have any harmonica at all
how do you do a tonge roll

Yesterday... Are you sure about 5 and 6 at start ? It sounds odd...
No, you're right. I simplified it. To play it the real way would require very difficult advanced techniques on a natural minor harmonica. I'll do a vid on "the real way" in the future. Having a harmonica customized to be able to play it!
Why is it easier for me to learn by ear i try to follow this i mess up constantly if i never played it but once learned i can follow wird
🤷🏻
PLEASE I REQUEST FOR ANGELS LIKE YOU WITH NOTES PLS 😭 I NEED IT FOR OUR BAND PLS
What is Angels Like You?
@@Harmonicacom a song from Miley Cyrus
I wonder what that harp would sound like using a microphone with a wah wah pedal hooked up ?
Could be cool! Gotta try it!
@@Harmonicacom you know what else might be cool is using a microphone hooked up to some modulation effect pedal, such as the whirling Leslie sound in stereo.
Well playing harmonica through a wah wah pedal. You can get amazing sounds from it by using all types of wah wah sounds from crybaby to talk. I have a process pedal with four wah wah sounds. You will learn something new everytime you play through the pedal.
@@darrellbennett3491 I'll bet that would sound good. Do you know of any recordings of someone playing a harmonic through an effects pedal ?
Hello 👋 from Israel

Hi Luke! Hope I am first!
Right on my friend. Thank you. Rock on! 😎
i’m jealous
why? You got this! 👊🏼
Why exactly do you play "Yesterday" incorrectly?
