    I’ve been away from the hobby for a number of years and was an HO guy so I was a little nervous about a new layout. I had the opportunity to work with Dubai trains on this design and I can’t recommend him enough and he was a pleasure to work with. He’s very thoughtful in delivering exactly what you’re looking for and the turn around time was amazing. If you’re looking to take your layout to the next level or design a new one, I strongly recommend you reach out to Dubai trains, you won’t be disappointed.

      I have several layout design projects using Kato unitrack. This particulair layout was for a client. I provide layout design services if you are interested.

    This is an outstanding layout! Fantastic job!

    Doesn’t the green loop track cross the blue side track? If this is a full functional crossing, there are even more possibilities then the schematic states.
    Great layout.

      Thanks. Yes there are more possibilities. I illustrate some examples that are functional when operating.

    Hello, the two-way bridge you use, what reference number is it? I can't find any bridge with that curve, thanks

      Hi Juan, if i remember correctly we used kato brdges everywhere except for one. I have all the bridges documented om my patreon page. Have a look there.

    Hello, very nice. I am a beginner with kato n scale tracks, my question: the transfer track, does it need some special way to wire it ? In H0 that would not work without some special device to change the electric signal....or am i totally wrong ?

      Hello, yes this design does a some return loops. An auto reverser will be needed to switch the polarity regardless of DC or DCC operations.

    I guess I don't understand your return loop? 😕
    Is it a one use? 🤔

    • @DubaiTrains
      @DubaiTrains  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The return loop, the green track in the diagram, connects two sides of the loop in opposite direction. Because of this you can turn the train around when going through it, or use it as a return loop. It is in one direction only.
      Check this video if you want a return loop in both directions, and some other clever options. th-cam.com/video/VosRLZgbTVU/w-d-xo.html

      A well thought out plan. I'm beginning to wish I went N scale. When I do an HO model again, I'll remember why I didn't. lol.
      What did you end up with as a min radius on the staging?

    • @DubaiTrains
      @DubaiTrains  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Frank, 12.4" for the tightest staging track. The mainline is generally 15" and a bit tighter is selected areas what it isn't obvious. So yes, never to late to switch to N scale. Or start dig a new hole by switching to O scale!

      @@DubaiTrains So in HO that's +/- 24-25"R. Do you think that 12.4"R N-scale staging curve can couple & decouple, or are the curves intended to be for storage & passage only? I ask because my current plan for the "big" yard's tightest radius is on Track 1.
      My Track 1 is a combo alignment consisting of a 2' straight, 2' @ 22"R, another 2' straight, followed by 5' @ 50"R, and if needed, another 2' straight. Normally, Tracks 1 & 2 would be the two A/D tracks, but as designed, the A/Ds could be 3 & 4 (min 26"R). Having a solid 7 to 9 feet of Track 1 at a minimum of 50"R, I'm not exceptionally worried by the 2' of 22"R. But I haven't done a coupling test on a 22"R yet. It would be nice if it worked.
      Forgetting about me, me, me, the N-scale plan is a very nice use of space. 👌

      The staging wil mostly be for storage and passage.
      For HO, if you consistently use the same type and brand of coupler, as per my experience 22" won't be a big issue with 40' & 50' cars. 95% of them will couple and one or two notorious cars might need a nudge, as per the prototype.
