The amount will be deducted accordingly from and to your destination and you can top it up as you want.. For taking public bus just go to any bus interchange and buy a TransLink card. Don't pay bus ride by cash. Firstly it cost more. Secondly they don't give you back your change!!!. It can be a very very expensive bus ride. So if you put in $5 or $10 note, that's it. The Bus Captain (driver) not allowed to handle cash. By the way you can also ride the MRT with this card.

Carrot cake is actually raddish and not glutinous rice. The Chinese called raddish white carrot, and that's how the dish became carrot cake. For public transport, if you have a Visa card, it can be used on MRTs and buses. Just need to tap in and tap out and it will be cheaper for you. BTW, Singapore has one of the lowest corporate tax rate in the world at 17%, much less than USA, so it is incorrect to say we pay alot of taxes for what we enjoy in terms of good infrastructure etc.

Bus trips in Singapore don't cost $5. Just tell the bus driver where you wanna go and s/he'll tell you the price. Some basic research on the public transport system would have saved you some money and make for a less stressful adventure.

You overpaid that bus trip. Should have bought a Nets cash card or Ez link card at 7 Eleven store, top up 10 dollars and use for travelling around Sg. 5 dollars is too much. And the driver is not local and just brushed you off.😔. I have extra cards with me, of you still in Sg can give you one. Bukit Batok was my childhood place. That place you walk was my.old playground😅
So the bus driver corrupted... Would he get a harsh sentence in Singapore? His face is all over youtube now... his facial expression and gesture were also super rude, condescending & obnoxious, especially when he knew that Nick was a tourist and a first-timer on a Singaporean bus
@@CollideWithTheSlope to be fair to him, bus drivers in Sg does not give change. The norm is to use fare cards but I agree his attitude sucks. But there are many other bus drivers who are very nice and helpful. It's just unlucky to keet a driver like that

Driver local worse, like sg taxi.. every foreigner sure they take longer road trips cost more and their driving skill like ride rollercoaster make people wanna vomit🤮, indonesia drive better smooth comfortable. Same like china, hongkong taxi driver cant comfy smooth drive. So that why better take online aps grab go car or mrt.😊✌🏻
Hi Nick when you put $5.00 into the slot , you shud tell the driver , where you going n he shud give you your change. I. Saw the driver waving his hand as if telling you , there's no change n that's bullshit. Bus fares do not cost more than $3.00 per trip from one end to the other. Cheers
