I’ve never seen so many Smokey phase turkey with each other before like that, there had to have been some farmer’s birds that escaped and interbred. That’s why when I chose turkeys I got the local Osceola breed here in FL, I didn’t want to take the risk of messing up the gene pool if they happened to leave.
Great hunt, great shot. I am still new at turkey hunting but what was the reason for running down the turkey after the shot? Just interested to know if it something needed to do after shooting one.
Miguel Landestoy sometimes the turkey will flap its wings and could potentially take flight. It’s always good to get on them as soon as possible to avoid him taking off. At least in my person opinion.

Please tell me you keep the legs and eat them as well. I actually pluck my birds and use every bit. Pressure cooked the leg meat is as good as pulled pork!
wow you shot the bow at that bird standing behind your buddy holding a decoy in the field... i seen a guy slip on his pull back and shoot an elk in the head.... if you had a draw error you could hit your buddy? maybe it was the camera angle but that looks risky.

Here in middle georgia I seen a brown and white turkey it had big white splotches all over the only thing was it was a hen but she was unique. Ive seen white turkeys but never like that one

I hunted with a 45lb draw last year and then turned the draw weight up on the same bow to 65 and it shoots so much faster

Probably not a pure wild turkey or Melanistic Wild Turkeys overproduce the pigment melanin and colors can vary .
