I recently visited Turkey on a family holiday. Whilst I was there, my perception of kids completely changed. There were 3 types of kids. 1. Kids that don’t really throw fits but aren’t the calmest or mature either And then I saw 1 example of the third, when we were in a restaurant, and there was a kid who was around 5, who walked in, sat down on his own, tucked in his napkin and even looked at the menu, waiting for his parents, whilst they did whatever they wanted. Having kids doesn’t automatically mean you have a lean scream machine that will occupy you 24/7. And if you raise the child to be that way, that’s your fault, and you can’t then then say “I hate all kids” It’s the equivalent of seeing a hispanic cross a border and declare all of them illegal immigrants. As always, it’s just idiots who can’t take accountability.

I was number 3 because my parents gave me the beatings if I acted like 1 or 2. As a child that got raised with physical punishment, it did had benefits like not daring to misbehave but also negative effects like being afraid of making mistakes and not having the guts to speak up.
@@spikey0245 I definitely agree. Corporal punishment has its advantages but they’re ultimately outweighed by their disadvantages. Children like some of my childhood friends grew extremely distant from their parents because of it.

@lunaballuna I mean this might be an introvert talking but not everyone wants to live that lifestyle yeah that seems cool and all but to some people buying a snack without worrying about it hurting your budget is freeing to them
The pure hatred that my generation seems to have for children is very very weird. I understand not wanting them, or even not liking them. But everyone just SHITS on kids for literally just existing.
@@Tokyo1889 that’s kinda WHY ppl don’t wanna have kids. They’re annoying, they need attention loads of love, once you have em, nothing you want or care for matters your kid is now your life, their needs are over your own.
I had to laugh every time they called themselves dinks. Not only because it sounds stupid, but mainly because sadly they don't realize the word "dink" was a derogatory term the U.S. military used as slang for "Vietnamese" during the War.
Just a fun fact, the term DINK dates back to the 1980's at the least, I have it in a comic from 1989 which also uses the newly created word Yuppie, after the letters YUP, standing for Young Urban Professional, a new up and coming working class at the time. So the trend may be new, but it's far from a new term.
@@AustinCameron Well not really because that's an ethnic and religious group, people were of a certain age to be yuppies but there was a lot of choice involved with the lifestyle. They, for example, chose to just live in the city rather than commute to the suburbs as their parents had done. If you saw Mad Men, Pete Townsend would have been both, a WASP and a Yuppie. For the curious, the P stood for Protestant.
Having my daughter was the best thing to ever happen to me. Money don't mean s#!t compared to the love of a child, and how proud you can be when they grow up to be a good person.
It's like a dick measuring contest where some couples will show off how adorable their kids are on social media, and the couples who don't have kids will tell you how free and fulfilling their lives are. People just want validation and confirmation for their life choices.
I finally understand why my fiance gets so upset when people nag him about how once we have kids we won't have free time. These dinks advertise kids and having kids like it's a parasite that will ruin your life. I'm not saying people should have kids, there are absolutely people who should never once have a passing thought about having kids. It isn't for everyone and I don't think people should be harassed into having kids by friends and families. What I don't like is how these privileged people act like kids are nothing but a life ruining burden. It was especially scummy to say "We're not materialistic because you need more material things for kids" that's so manipulative and heinous to insinuate you're selfish for having kids. It's gross.
I like to point out not having kids doesn't make your life better. For example, I don't have kids, but my job makes sure I don't have eight hours of sleep cause overtime, and even if I don't have overtime, I still feel tired with eight hours of sleep. I can eat pizza whenever I want, but don't cause its unhealthy.
That depends on you. If you don’t have kids but still choose to live an unhealthy lifestyle, it’s because you choose to, not because of if you have kids or not. There are plenty of childfree people who have an easier time staying fit and healthy because they have the time. And getting more sleep is generally easier.
why does everything have to be a trend nowadays? just live your life and keep it to yourself. these people are desperate for validation, if they were happy they wouldn’t feel the need to broadcast it online lol
I got pregnant when I was just finishing university. They told me I had “ruined my career”. Yes, instead of “congrats”, I received a “and your career?”. Let me tell you, that baby changed my life for the better. I’m thriving in my career, have the money to support my kid and enough for myself. It’s a matter of perspective. Am I tired? Sure. But my son is everything… that “dink” lifestyle is attainable and you’ll be sharing it with your family. 😅❤
Good for you!! CONGRATS!! On EVERYTHING you've accomplished. I was told around the age of 17 or just before my 18th birthday I believe, that I'd NEVER be able to have kids of my own. I had 2 miscarriages and absolutely believed I would never get to experience being a mother of my own kids. Cut to well over a decade later and I now have a beautiful 7 year old daughter whom is my world. Best thing I've ever done in life was having her. Being able to put my daughter first an give her a good life is by far the most fulfilling and wonderful accomplishment I have ever experienced. I wish you and yours the absolute best my friend! And truly congratulations on everything you've accomplished. Being a parent is truly the most exhausting, amazing, wonderful and fulfilling experience I've ever had. Best wishes again my friend! 💖🙏💖
Lmao it's funny how it goes from "so you're working? How about build a family and having a child?" And goes to "So you're having a child? How about your career" Anyway congrats!
Dammit, if they won't say congrats, I will. Congrats! Being a parent is a whole job on its own, and recently a disrespected one. We need to bring back respect for mothers, fathers, and guardians, cause they are responsible for our future.
I will never have children. And a lot of people around me are the same. I couldn’t afford it alone and two incomes sounds nice, without kids. But I get it when people want kids! EDIT-these people must be kidding, no way they’re really like that. And if they are -yikes
same, I don't kids since just in general how the world is right now (and medical conditions that are hereditary and I have it the worst being third generation and even a doctor had told me I can easily pass it onto a child and sdly can have it worse than I so-) But I'd never flex about it. I just don't have that kind of patients nor do I have that kind of authority/parenting skills in general to keep them away and keep stressing of what htey're watching or doing. cause I am a person who does indeed care, but that comes with too much stress ontop of everything else. but i'd never hate on people who want kids. me as a teenager did because my friend back then got pregnant and I said back then she ruined her life and now we can never hang out....granted we never hung out, but because I stopped. not her. but I learned a lot since then obviously 13 years later lol. but these people....oi....I'd never brag about it online saying haha I don't have kids so I can....erm....eat junk and go to florida whenever i want lol
@@savageratentertainment the stress of the responsibility would make it hell for me, I wouldn’t be able to ever relax, having children! It’s just the way it is!

As someone who was once a child I can confirm does not always get easier as they grow up there’s a lot of different struggles that come with raising teens and young adults.
As someone who doesn't have kids, it's so weird to me to brag about not having kids. Just because you don't want kids doesn't mean that someone else having them is wrong. Why is literally EVERYTHING in this world a competition now? Just be happy you're living your life the way you want to. Jesus christ, man.
To be honest due to current economics this trend is logical however, to sensationalize this is cringe. Granted having kids is not easy, then again living a responsible life is not easy too.
People with and without kids struggle. With kids, you get benefits to help out. Honestly, there hasn't been much of a shift for us from no kids to having kids. Especially since we cook most of our meals, practice good spending habits, and are wise with money. You add in the tax deductions and credits, child care assistance for preschool, and a strong support system and there has been very little shift for us financially. Not to mention, we bought our home at 2.8% interest and right before the sellers market. I'd also love to add after seeing the second stupid couple: my husband and I still have sex very regularly and kids has changed zero about that, we go on tons of adventures (like next year getting our daughter her first snowboarding lessons bc we love snowboarding), still eat gd pizza, have a date night every week where it's either the 2 of us or our daughter included (she's very behaved and quite, so it's never been an issue), we spend a ton of time together as a couple and as a family, and having a baby hasn't really forced us into poverty since we've both made great financial decisions since married at 21, meaning while we can't just drop 500$ on whatever we want, we can still splurge on ourselves as we have a savings set aside for stuff that we want (like buying a new sofa that we wanted this year or buying a new snake tank for me that I've been eyeing in January). It comes down to job security, home security, smart financial decisions (something these people lack hard), and having fun with each other and our daughter via dates/adventures/dare devil stuff we like/going out/or just staying home and eating pizza with the kiddo. ❤
The Reason why this "trend" is so cringe is that they're literally bragging not having kids to some people who are stressed about having kids and then the parents that are with the kids will actually be more stressed watching them bragging so TLDR this trend can make people with kids stressed
Sometimes it's okay that people show you life without kids because some people rush into it, not saying they will make bad parents just maybe they will not enjoy having kids in the long run
I don’t want kids because I genuinely just like to be alone and don’t like too much noise. I raised my little cousin growing up and it was a hassle, and she is now a big bundle of joy. But this genuinely sucks because some people cannot have kids and some are just not financially stable to have children.
as somome who hates children, don't want kids don't nees em these people seem very unhappy trying to convince people they are happy. i understand kids aren't the only purpose in life but these people need to get off social media and leave their home more than once a month to restock supplies at costsco
You could just do what my parents did, worked as dinks for 20 years got very wealthy and then had kids with assistance of a nanny and still had plenty of free time to work and go on trips.
@@sumisusan1517but they won’t be there for their kids because the life expectancy is 61-65. Imagine if you were 16-18 and your parents just died. Its fucking terrible.
Some people forget that people can be happy with kids too. But just like being child-free, it depends on each person's mental health, lifestyle, financial situation, patience, personality, etc whether they're happy.
The real problem isn't how you choose to live your life. The problem is that people feel the need to post it online for everyone to see when there's no actual need to do so. Everyone is looking down on privacy, when it should be one of the most valuable things on your life.
People shame people for having kids. People shame people for not having kids. How about everyone mind their own damn business and enjoy life. You get one. You never know if you’ll lose your life the next day. Embrace the life you have and mind yo damn business.
3x a week is rookie numbers lol we have two kids and do it daily still. Hell, I woke up at around 3am this morning we had a session and she went back to sleep😂
If you feel the need to tell other people constantly how happy you are... maybe you´re not as happy as you think. This goes for both, people with and without kids. Just live your life and stop this cringe shit holy fuck.
Now personally I don’t and will never want kids. And I think the thought that people who don’t want kids, won’t know a truely fulfilling life, they’ll never know what true love is, as if a child is the only thing someone can love more than themselves), and they’ll be lonely or whatever, is actually really stupid. And people with children that spew this shit about people who don’t have or want kids (not parents as a whole ofc) , honestly feel like people who didn’t realize they didn’t want kids until they had them and while they love their kids, think it’s unfair that they don’t get to go back and have that choice Some people are fulfilled with kids some people aren’t, However- if you claim to be child free and you act like this it honestly feels like you’re overcompensating for something, I mean I know people can be really stupid towards people who don’t want kids but this ain’t helping. They’re just as backhanded and infuriating as the other side and have their heads too far up their own asses to see how childish they act. It’s so infuriating
I think the main problem people are having is these videos come off as "oh you have kids? Well your stupid as fuck and you will be miserable the rest of your life and will hate your kids" they give off that vibe most of the time. I don't think it's really fair to say the first part of your comment is stupid. Because I would bet most that say that is exactly what happened to them so they are saying it to other people. Also the love thing I mean being a parent is a different kind of love nothing else feels as deep as that so I can somewhat agree with that statement of you really don't know what true love is and again probably coming from people that thought exactly like you or them or whatever at one point.
I’m single and Childfree, I do find these videos a tad cringe, but not anymore cringe than the videos of parents slapping their kids all over the internet without consent. I can tell you right now as a someone who helped babysit from a very young age and observes people with kids. Most of them did not think it through. I’m dead serious. The amount of thinking that the majority of people who want kids DONT do, is scary. Almost every child I know was unplanned and the parents don’t have the financial, mental, or emotional capacity for them. It’s heartbreaking.
I completely agree with your stance, Pegasus. The general public at large doesn’t care if you do or do not have kids, live your life how you want and don’t force your ideals down people’s throats in your desperate search for validation. What surprised me about the videos was the couples saying they could go on holidays whenever they wanted. Do they not have to work?
Honestly in this day and age thats probably the best way to live. With both partners working but no kids to have to pay for. But I don't understand bragging about it online.
Bragging about shit in general is cringe. Whether it's money or fame or strength or success. Bragging in general about anything makes you look like an ass. This, however, is one of the weirdest things I've seen people brag about.
Okay. You can be happy and live a fulfilling life with kids. You can be happy and live a fulfilling life without them. Personally I don't want kids, but neither of these is worse or better than the other
Only difference is all your daily activities revolve around a small person (s). I still go to the grocery store , we both still work , we still take a vacations (not as often) and still hang out with friends since i have my own house. Especially pushing 30 im not into going to the club or drinking heavy anymore. Everything said is things i still do with a wife and kid
I mean I'd rather not deal with a kid when I can hardly take care of myself. Also it seems wild that most people who have had children want to everyone to have kids with honestly seems more like a wild concept than just allowing people to do what they want without harming others
@@nickloveless7387 Yeah, there's a ridiculous amount of judgment if you don't want to join in their misery lol - nothing makes them more furious (and have to put out endless videos like this) than someone saying they want to take their life in a different direction
I don't care what the consensus says I care about what is objectively good and Natural for people not what society currently wants and yes nobody should ever be forced or "obligated" to have Children their body their choice also having a Child means that your having a person not a piece of property which is what most parents seem to feel and think when they have Children and I can see why a lot of people Adults and Children wished they never existed
TBH people with kids will be all over the internet with their kids talking about motherhood, some women straight up will get pretty irritated at the idea of another woman not having a kid. So when people brag about not having kids I take no offense, its just a different life stye and they do have perks that people who have kids don’t have so really cant be mad at them for that.
As obnoxious as these people are, I dont feel theyre any less obnoxiously indignant than people that have kids. Heck, you could argue this is in some part the pendulum swinging back because theyre sick of being judged by people with kids for not wanting to have them. Im 36 and have NEVER wanted to have kids, and the judgement I get from most people when I tell them I have no desire to have kids is insane. And going through the comments to this video, there is just so much judgement and cope coming from so many parents. No, not wanting to have kids doesnt make a person immature or selfish. No, you dont need kids to be fulfilled. Some people are entirely capable of being good parents and maybe just dont want the parent lifestyle. Some people have other things they want to accomplish with their lives (like writing novels or something) that is more important to them than having kids. Youre happy with your kids. Congratulations. Its not for everyone. Keep your indignation to yourself
Exactly! Even in those videos about DINKS and the comments it clearly shows how society hate childfree people. And especially noticeable that no one bats an eye at Family Vloggers and oversharing parents. But if a childfree couple DARES to show happiness in public, people are loosing their minds! As cringy those DINK videos are; I still have them over people that overshare and exploit their children for clicks.
That's what those youtubers and many commenters want you to feel. Its a taboo to talk about being unhappy or even regretful as parent; which is why you rarely see stuff like that in public. But many unhappy parents know they can't undo their choices and often get angry at people that are childfree by choice. BTW; I'm a SINK too and very happy with my choice. If I blindly had kids (even one) I would be still in poverty, with worse health and be angry and depressed like my mom. I personally think that having kids is one of the most important choices anyone can do. A child should be 100% wanted. Forcing kids on others, especially those who don't want them, will end up with a child that gets resented and often neglected.
I used to say i didn't want kid, until I was 23 and in a wonderful relationship. Now 27, pregnant with our first. Everyone I told said :BUT YOU SAID NO KID EVER (they're mad I'm not a "dink" anymore) Yeah I did, I i also changed and I'm also glad I didn't get kid with previous partners.
I'm all about not having kids, but these two are just annoying. Also not sure if going on and on about the greatness of Costco snacks is the best way to evangelize the excitement of dink yout lifestyle
Nobody really needs to watch those videos or make videos of them. But this stuff is addictive and will create views, posts, thumbs, subscribers, income, etc. for TH-camrs. But as a Google shareholder since TH-cam was acquired I think all of this is great considering there's close to 3 billion subscribers. Only people not benefiting are regular subscribers with no skin in the game.
Parents who try to explain to everyone how having kids is the best thing that can happen and how happy they are, are just as cringe lol No one cares guys, it's sad you need validation for your life choices. I noticed people with kids in the comments overshare af
as a gal myself, I never wanted kids still don't and no regrets, but I never flexed about it. Yes you save money (not these people though they're wasting money on pointless things) but the reason I don't 1. too many medical conditions to pass on that the child can get and worse since it has happened and 2. I wouldn't bring another poor soul into this world with how it is. plus I know i wouldn't be the greatest mother anyway. my niece who even well what she says looks at me as a "mum" since hers which is my sister is in another state, she doesn't really even listen to me and will walk away so. I have no authority for children and nor do I have that kind of patients either but not once have I flexed online going yeah I don't want kids and my life will be soooooooooooo much more relaxed it doesn't bother me mind you cause I couldn't care either way. if they want to make fools out of themselves just more people to laugh at.
Meanwhile I never had and never will have a gf. I got rejected a countless times but wish to have kids and need to pay a huge sum for a surrogate mother.
All these weird little angry communities online all come back around to one issue, and that’s feeling unfulfilled in life. If it wasn’t something that bothered them on the daily, they wouldn’t push it as hard as they do. It’s people that may have a great life but no peace of mind so they make up problems, and then go to people online for validation. It’s a sad cycle.
Alls it is is people looking for external validation for their life style choices. Getting rid of social medias years ago was the best decision i ever made.
its good to not have kids right now. the worlds population is currently 9 billion and the earth cannot carry so many people. youre kids may not have a happy life :(
Having my kids made me want to be a better version of myself. I love taking them to places and do things I never got to do as a child and make tons of fun memories together. I love being a mom!! I'm a broke b!tch and we still pull off eating home cooked meals and having fun. Not that shit doesn't happen, but man, my love for them outweighs anything.
Sure, more power to them, It does sound pretty good, but If they're investing this much energy into showing off their lifestyle rather than just enjoying living it casually, I just feel like something's off or you're not really that happy
My girlfriend and I will be childless because mostly our hereditary illnesses and I have severe ADHD and she is autistic. Also pregnancy would be dangerous for her. We don't want our child to suffer because of our handicaps. Also our government neglecting education, healthcare, and public safety so I can't guarantee my child will grow up healthy and well educated in a safe place. But it's nothing to brag about. I feel like these people are the other side of the people who is like bragging about having cute kids. They have nothing going in their life so they exaggerate what they can. Having a child or not they should humble themselves and find meaning.
Even the early stage isn't that rough. My little gremlin is a nightmare by comparison to others but it's not difficult at all. Although I never slept much before either.
I don't want to have kids because of the clown world we live in but im not opposed to having them if it happens. But making your entire personality about not having kids is just as pathetic and annoying as people who constantly pester you about why you don't want to have kids.
A guy ik just lost his wife of 30 yrs. They never had children n now hes all alone. People seem to not think about the future n the loneliness tht this behavior could lead to.

honestly they're obnoxious but I kind of understand where they're coming from. A lot of the responses are things like "hur dur I couldn't imagine not having kids it must be awful you don't know what you're missing." So many assholes have kids and won't shut the flip up about how wonderful it is and how anyone without the little snot gremlins must be miserable. Yes these "dinks" kind of overcompensate but still.

I had to laugh every time they called themselves dinks. Not only because it sounds stupid, but mainly because sadly
they don't realize the word "dink" was a derogatory term the U.S. military used as slang for "Vietnamese" during the War.
I've never heard that story, but I have heard a lot of people get called dink as an alternative to words with a similar usage like "dork"
Damn, there's always something that we don't know about
It's an acronym for Dual Income No Kids.
Dink is actually a derogatory name used by people that grew up in the 70s early 80s so it only makes people using it on themselves look more stupid
stupidity at its finest, they live up to their lifestyle’s name
Just a fun fact, the term DINK dates back to the 1980's at the least, I have it in a comic from 1989 which also uses the newly created word Yuppie, after the letters YUP, standing for Young Urban Professional, a new up and coming working class at the time. So the trend may be new, but it's far from a new term.
Are we calling them dinkies?
American psycho
That's like calling people WASPs - white-anglo-saxons
@@AustinCameron Well not really because that's an ethnic and religious group, people were of a certain age to be yuppies but there was a lot of choice involved with the lifestyle. They, for example, chose to just live in the city rather than commute to the suburbs as their parents had done. If you saw Mad Men, Pete Townsend would have been both, a WASP and a Yuppie. For the curious, the P stood for Protestant.
Not to mention it's the reason why the neighbours from Fairly OddParents are called DINKleberg, as they have no kids
Having my daughter was the best thing to ever happen to me. Money don't mean s#!t compared to the love of a child, and how proud you can be when they grow up to be a good person.
What if she grows up to be a bad person, though? Really makes ya think, hmmm?
Wait until she gets older…
It's gross.
I mostly blame pop culture and modern society in general. It's demonized parenthood and made it seem like your life is over when you have kids.

I never wanted to have kids but I don’t brag about it online. The fact that this has become an online trend is crazy to me.
Why not? Parents constantly overshare their kids (even if its detrimental to them) online. And you don't need to watch this.
Yet those same parents are more than happy to make people without children stressed so...
Womp womp

The real problem isn't how you choose to live your life. The problem is that people feel the need to post it online for everyone to see when there's no actual need to do so. Everyone is looking down on privacy, when it should be one of the most valuable things on your life.

😂😂😂😂
We're Dinks! We're gonna frantically try IVF and spend thousands in our 40s when we realize it's too late to have kids!
Now personally I don’t and will never want kids. And I think the thought that people who don’t want kids, won’t know a truely fulfilling life, they’ll never know what true love is, as if a child is the only thing someone can love more than themselves), and they’ll be lonely or whatever, is actually really stupid.
And people with children that spew this shit about people who don’t have or want kids (not parents as a whole ofc) , honestly feel like people who didn’t realize they didn’t want kids until they had them and while they love their kids, think it’s unfair that they don’t get to go back and have that choice
Some people are fulfilled with kids some people aren’t,
However- if you claim to be child free and you act like this it honestly feels like you’re overcompensating for something, I mean I know people can be really stupid towards people who don’t want kids but this ain’t helping.
Also the love thing I mean being a parent is a different kind of love nothing else feels as deep as that so I can somewhat agree with that statement of you really don't know what true love is and again probably coming from people that thought exactly like you or them or whatever at one point.
is this a new coping technique? lmao
In my day they were called yuppies…. Don’t know why they act as if they are groundbreaking….
Your supposed to beat your kid with theor consent? Fyt abt
Luckily, this Pegasus fellow will never have to worry about having kids because he's a neckbearded nerd.

I agree with you. It screams insecurity. Seeking praise and acceptance.
Okay. You can be happy and live a fulfilling life with kids. You can be happy and live a fulfilling life without them. Personally I don't want kids, but neither of these is worse or better than the other

I mean I'd rather not deal with a kid when I can hardly take care of myself. Also it seems wild that most people who have had children want to everyone to have kids with honestly seems more like a wild concept than just allowing people to do what they want without harming others

So when people brag about not having kids I take no offense, its just a different life stye and they do have perks that people who have kids don’t have so really cant be mad at them for that.
Kids are not for everyone. most people should want them, but most people are not ready
why should most people want them??

I’m a SINK (single income no kids) which means my life is going down the sink because will be sad and alone forever
Not all SINK people feel this way. Some love being a SINK.
Ngl when they say “We’re Dinks,” I hear them say “We’re Dicks” 💀

I have no authority for children and nor do I have that kind of patients either
