    Very nice! Easy to follow. Great view of the thought process.
    I wouldn't count on this strategy ordinarily, because the chit draw is fraught, too much is required to go right!
    However, like you say, it's fun as heck to try out! That's what I like about this command focused system. It plays quickly, so you can have fun experimenting. Nobody wants to spend for hours losing a game because their "I wonder what if" backfired. Plus, it gives you a chance to work out strategies that might work better, that you never would have discovered if you hadn't tried something else first.

      Yeah odds are, your timing will get messed up and the Feds will start to see it coming. I wonder if there is a better way to pull that off? Instead of shuffling 2nd and 3rd Corps over, maybe just march Longstreet through and over to the east. KISS!

      @@CommandPostGames I've tried that on the times that I've had a clear path through Gettysburg. The problem I've found with that is it is much more convenient for the V and VI Corps to get at Longstreet East of Gettysburg.

      @@mikestrand3023 Yeah, I was surprised how easily V Corps just slipped right in there.

      @@CommandPostGames Since the opposing forces enter from opposite sides of the board, the closer each army remains to it's LoC, the more powerful it will be. The North could hunker down in the SE corner and wait. Either Lee has to race all the way across the board, or he can wait til Day 2 and advance with his whole army. The problem being that the North will have superior numbers by then.
      Historically, Lee was wary, but Heth's boys got all excited and started the battle anyway. Another case of the troops not doing exactly as your "robot troops" in games do.

      @@mikestrand3023 I'd call that an immediate Confederate win. They took the map. Battle over.

    If Buford had made a cheap attack on the incoming rebs in column, AND if Lee had gotten lucky dice and eliminated him, what then? How would day 2, and even more, day 3, look with Buford not present. One unit, one decision, could have huge consequences! sequences!

      @CommandPostGames  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep. A tiny little change at the opening can have such a huge impact. What I like about this system is that it doesn't ruin the game! In other games, you are locked into holding the fixed positions on the map, regardless of how it opens. Here, the Feds can adjust their line of defense based on how it goes. It's all in the player's hands. Awesome!!

    I'm pretty sure the answer to this is no, but can unpacked Baggage Trains move during the night turn? If not, do Spent units recover during the night turn without the aid of an unpacked Baggage train?

    • @CommandPostGames
      @CommandPostGames  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, they can move during the night but that means you lose the battle. The advantage being that there is no point modifier then. So if you have to bug out, that's the time to do it. Better to hold on till nightfall and then run away if you can.
      No, they need unpacked trains to rally.
      For campaigns, we've been experimenting with units taking hits due to force marching. I'm thinking that should apply to night marches as well.

    Hey I was just wandering, if it is our turn and the enemy pieces are in contact with our pieces, yet we can move the pieces of that command, can we simply manoeuvre our pieces away from combat?

    • @CommandPostGames
      @CommandPostGames  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes!! That is a disengaging move in the rules. IF you move second, you can disengage and pull back. Alternatively, you could stay and fight and move up reinforcements to support the defense.
