Sauron: Now it is time to take command of the Dwarven Kings! Ring: *Error* Sauron: … what do you mean, “error”? Ring: *Conflicting files, cannot dominate. Troubleshooting* Sauron: Hate when this happens, can you at least make them greedier? Ring: *Operation Complete*
Gimli was by far my favorite of the fellowship. In the books, the exchange between him and Eomer when they first met was epic. I wish the strength of the dwarves were showcased more in Peter Jackson's adaptations as I feel it was kind of stifled.
They were pretty badass to me and they knock the elves back a couple of pegs and the elves have been around for a long time They ought to have technology rivaling hours. I don't know I don't think they were done dirty but I haven't read the books so I only know what I've seen on the internet and the movies. I didn't really like the dwarves! They were just like Beaorn said the shift changer. They're greedy they don't care about anybody but themselves for the most part and not all of them are like that but as a whole. I hated Thoren and they're the ones that started the war between the elves and the dwarfs not the other way around. And they didn't have a ring to blame that on either. I inherently I guess just don't like greedy people. They are powerful they are great warriors and gimli show the best turnaround over any character in the whole legendary and as far as I'm concerned. And I hated him to begin with I mean absolutely hated him he seemed like a spoiled petulant child that didn't know the truth. Legolas is one of the best characters in the legendarium and my second favorite next to gandalf. And all gimmly could say was don't trust an elf blah blah blah like a pouting little child there's no way I would have let him go with the fellowship to begin with and that probably would have been a mistake on my part but the stupid stuff he was saying in rivendale just really angered me. Like I said it was his kind's fault that all this started. That being said I don't like King Thrandril. He in prisoned the company of thorn in oakenshield and didn't really have a reason in my mind except just a trap them. But I can see it as he he was ripped off by thorin and his family so I guess I can kind of see it now that I think about it.
@BrianEthridge-wg6ko if you only go on the very little information that was able to be put on a screen, I'm afraid you do yourself a injustice. The legendarium is so much more expanded than what is contained in The Hobbit or The Lord of The Rings for that matter. The dwarves have a way more storied history that I'm afraid no one will ever be able to put onto a movie screen. But do yourself a favor and go check out The Silmirillion. It will go into greater depth on who the dwarves are and where they came from and their complicated relationship with the elves. It is definitely worth the read .
I enjoy your videos so much, and the dwarves’ creation is one of my favorite stories. I love how Iluvatar slapped Aule’s hand and granted his greatest wish at the same time. I also love that Iluvatar didn’t fix Aule’s design; Iluvatar accepted the dwarves just the way they are, imperfectly perfect.
Bear in mind: Even if the Rings of Power or similar priceless items could tempt and somewhat corrupt the dwarves, the dwarves were impervious of being turned into something like the Ringwraiths. They were likely the only thinking species in Arda capable of this. A tough nut to crack for even someone as devious as Sauron. The dwarves are as strong as the very foundations of the earth, not only in physical resilience, but even in mental resilience. You could say Aule built them very well, with a bit of additional help at the end from Eru. Let's also not forget that Dáin, as the heir to the Lonely Mountain and its king (after Thorin Oakenshield's demise), calmly told off either a Ringwraith or another messenger of Mordor (as we learn in the chapter set at the Council of Elrond). That takes not only calm thinking and composure, but also some strength of character. Not only did the messenger leave empty-handed, he was even bested by the dwarven king in a conversation.
Well, this made me understand why the victory cry in DRG is "Rock and Stone", because Dwarves are indeed rock and stone literally, figuratively, and mentally.
Man, Dwarves most are naturally Jacked becuase they were made from Stone...You could say they were the original Rock!!!! *Trying not to Laugh at my own joke...* Good One Marion!!! Thanks Mellon a Great Video, with a Lovely Message Fitting for Christmas, Until about the Dark Elves..Marion Baggins Out, need a bit more Sleep I woke up half an a hour earlier then I should!!!
The Rings of Power didn't have the effect on the Dwarves that Sauron wished for, the ability to dominate the Dwarves but they still brought disaster to the Dwarves. By inflaming their greed for jewels and precious metals, they ended up bringing Dragons down on them as well as the Balrog in Khazad-dûm.
I want to approach this issue in a more metaphysical context: The souls of men want to become independent of Arda when the time comes due to the phenomenon of death. The Nine forces their souls to be dependent on their bodies, which are made of Arda's material, and this causes them to fade. (Hypothesis: "The factor that prevents the elves from fading (the rings of power) causes the humans to fade.") It is like an unnatural, artificial type of fading seen in elves. Since the body of the dwarves is a sub-creation of Aulë, it has a more integrated nature with Arda. For this reason, the soul that Eru gives to the dwarves tends to be attached to their bodies, and therefore to Arda, like the elves. This soul-body relationship underlies the fact that the Seven do not have the same effect on the dwarves as they do on humans. For this reason, the Seven do not fade the dwarves like humans and do not turn them into a ring-wraith being.
The Dwarves were not *told* to other Valar, but all of Aulë's craft were part of Eru design and he knew every crack in their craft. All things were done as instruments to his song and part of his design.
I've always interpreted the power of the various rings as expanding what is already there in the wearer. The rings are able to worm their way into the minds of the wearer by preying on their anxieties. The elves' greatest anxiety was to preserve their magic, and the humans' greatest anxiety came from their fear of death. Dwarves were single mindedly focused on the acquisition of wealth. Hobbits made great ringbearers because they were generally content with the way things were.

Oh, it's simple, the power comes from their beards.
🗿
And their beautiful locks of hair. No male pattern baldness
Beards are genderneutral in Dwarves.
Men and women have them.
Ah, beards are powerful thus my disappointment with my scraggly gray one. 🙁
@@zawwin1846or female pattern baldness either

Yep.
Management does sometimes see the wisdom in their worker's efforts.
"I didn't think of that, good idea."
Merry Christmas Yoystan another excellent video. Also Let’s go DWARVES!!!
Because they receive a +2 bonus to constitution.

Short Kings, assemble
Because dwarves sprout up from the ground and there are no dwarf women to distract them
Industry is my wife.
Hard work, my bride!
😂😂😂
Happy holidays, Yoystan!
Hey Yoystan, hope you are having a Merry Christmas. Great video as always
Fantastic video! Absolutely love the content you put out! Your hard work and time put in these video is very apparent! it's much appreciated ❤🎉
Thank you so much for another year of great thoughts and considerations on life and middle-earth. Happy holidays!
Great video! I loved your sentiment at the end as I’ve always connected with stone and earth as an element.
Well, this made me understand why the victory cry in DRG is "Rock and Stone", because Dwarves are indeed rock and stone literally, figuratively, and mentally.
I haven’t watched yet but I think the reason lies in them being created differently than elves and men
Brothers of the mine rejoice!

This is why the Dwarves are so well like by fans.

I knew Dwarves are the best !

"Oops I did it again"
- Aule
At some point, it stops being incompetence or coincidence and has to be willful malevolence.
Aule did something Melkor didn't or couldn't do: create beings.
If a First Age Dwarvish stronghold was still around, it would be more powerful than Rivendell.
I've always interpreted the power of the various rings as expanding what is already there in the wearer. Did the Dwarves develop internal combustion engines?
I would assume “Yoisten” is an alias how and why did you choose that
100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a 10 kilometer run every single day....
And their beards...
*SAITAMA*
plenty of juice
One word: torque
Eru realized aule wasn't trying to to be selfish and that his intentions were honourable unlike melkor.
A teacher wanting students
Did Aulë _really_ know that the Dwarves would have no free will of their own when he set out to make them? That's not what I read in the Silmarillion.
They are Toydarians. Valar mind tricks don't work on them. Only gold.
In the end it will be the dwarves who rebuild Arda. And it will be beautiful beyond belief.
🤠👍👍👍
Leads to the question: Why wasn't the one entrusted to a dwarf?
A dwarfs would never have gone to destroy the ring, a dwarf would try to keep it (Gimli striking the ring with his axe is just a movie thing).
They weren't any more or less "powerful" than any of the other races, just very different.
Because they were digging a hole.
Of course, they didn't work on the Elves *at all*
Simple
Ha...not according to rings of power, since they only have interns writing for amazon.
Now make one about how the dwarves on RoP are blithering idiots😂😂😂😂😂
When I see dwarves I'm like "ugh, it's a MEG episode"
How could the Dwarves create underground structures like Moria and Erebor without explosives?
Lots and lots of time.
Picks and hammers, shovels and carts.
@maxpower3990 and time dilation. Do you have any idea how long that would take? And the number of dwarve laborers? It's prohibitive
Simple. They weren’t quite alive. Not in the real sense.
Because they had good tax policy you guys nycuk nycuk nycuk. Quit trying to Martinise Tolkien with your relativistic squeed nerd.
Men of the Woke
Dwarves are easily corrupted through greed.
Because they have the power of HEAVY METAL! R O C K & S T O N E !! 🪨🪨🪨
Do I hear a rock and stone?
Rock and Stone!!
ROCK! AND! STONE!
