not Daniel the best Hhai is in TH-cam....in theatrè Empire of Paris October 1978....is killer this versión...so far amazing....the best of the best....kiss from Argentina
Vander is capable to bring us music from other dimensions without using any psychofarmaca, he uses his unique singing as an additional melodic percussion instrument which makes him the best drummer ever
..After 4 decades listening music .. this is one of my favorite songs .. and more when you listen to live !!!.. incredible strength and power of the song, the vocal introduction and the subtle and sublime touch of drums by Christian and concentration of vocalists and musicians ...!!!! ... Defined the new classical music!
"For the Harkonnens, I chose, here in Paris, a very famous group in that time, is Magma. Magma was gothic.. military... terrible!" - Alejandro Jodorowsky, Jodorowsky's Dune (2013) Yes, I saw the documentary, as well. It was really STUPID of Jodorowsky's dream project to not even have been filmed, but it influenced films from "Star Wars," and "Alien," in this case, due to Dan O'Bannon's connections, Jean "Moebius" Giraud, Chris Foss and H.R. Giger, ESPECIALLY Giger... to "Contact," and "Prometheus." AND Jodo used his bible for his graphic novels, including. "The Incal," and "The Metabarons." Awesome! Now THAT is an AWESOME science-fiction genius! The TRUE founding father of cyberpunk! He should be in the Science Fiction Hall of Fame!
+Tripp1993 Jodorowsky's lack of imagination....too much influenced by the Kobaïan germanic sounds.... Military? he saw "Kommandoh", ok :a military group! what an intellectual interpretation!
What people must understand is that Magma's Kobaian myth is no si-fi adventure! It is as metaphorical as Sun Ra's knowledge of the beyond! There's no actualy language, cult or myth! Magma in the early 70's were a band that had the plan to shock the french ears! The band was a group of 21st Century Classical listeners and Free jazzers! They had the feeling that France was sleeping and that jazz wasn't really appreceated enough. That image they had in those days was really humoristic.
So they are talking about Jodorowsky's Dune project here on the comments. Whether Magma should have been Harkonnes or something. No. If Magma was in Dune, Magma would be the Spice.
never heard this band before, but yesterday I saw the documentary on jodorowsky'dune and here I am! He said he wanted this band for the movie, and pink floyd too
sabrunobia haha, same here. That documentary was awesome. What a criminal act Hollywood did for not letting Jorodowsky make something awesome. (but lol, everybody stole from his bible ;/)
sabrunobia Yes, everybody took ideas from Jodo, for genius ideas, which led to things from Star Wars' now-famous lightsaber duels to the POV of the Terminator to the designs of H.R. Giger. R.I.P. Giger, by the way. "Failure is only to change the way." - Alejandro Jodorowsky
Fascinating.... Vander looks like a cult leader, part messianic, part demonic... I have the Magma Live album, and that too is pretty enigmatic. What I have always wondered is: how do you explain this music to your band, if you've written a 'song'? I'd like having been a fly on the wall at some of their early rehearsals... "now look, what I want you to play here is something like this, whereas I sort of go like this ..."
Thank you so much for posting this! One of the most epic live performances I've seen. Does anyone know where I can get the Kobaian lyrics to this song?
this is the best MAGMA video on the internet
This is probably the best recording of Hhai ever......I have absolutely no doubts of my statement at all !
not Daniel the best Hhai is in TH-cam....in theatrè Empire of Paris October 1978....is killer this versión...so far amazing....the best of the best....kiss from Argentina

Damn, Stella was quite the babe back in the day! She's still great. I'm not used to seeing Magma with the crazy '80s costumes though, haha.
Lisa Deluxe was hotter man!

'lack of imagination' and 'jodorowsky' should never be in the same sentence
True, but nobody's perfect...even El señor Jodorowsky. Magma and fascism should never be in the same sentence too.

It's fucking bullshit how incredible this is
This is the most accurate comment.

This concert is amazing. Akira Toriyama must have received an idea for a dragon ball outfit from this costume.
