Incredible document, very, very powerful funk, despite the somewhat cheesy text in the intro, said by a Guy Khalifa (great from 5"18 ! ) who looks like a very 1981-ish Pierrot Lunaire.
The rest of the band is so french 70's déodorant Narta, tasty !
Great "whoo!" voice bursts from the audience.
Those guys know what they're doing... just check Vander's face at 5:41, it's clear.
His hihat fills at 5:22-5:27 are so tight !!
It's tacky, smelly, but the music is just so incredible.

Fans of Da Zeulh Worzt, don't despair, these are THE ANGELS OF LIGHT and they are SMILING AT YOU. Also on the setlist that night : ZESS (with claws, helmet & wings). Note : Sun Ra wasn't above this sort of thing himself.

Don't forget that there's a lot of tongue-in-cheek in the look here. It WAS a definite decline and breaking of the spell when Vander began to approach Magma ironically, but you can't blame him for taking a step to the side and laughing at himself. We all tend to do that from time to time, especially if we've been as madly audacious as Vander was in the 70s. As for the music, Vander has said in interviews that he said that he was steering it to where the band at the time was capable of performing. Not sure I completely buy that (thumbs up for your "seduction of the earthly pleasures of Euro Pop") but it does make some sense. Funny how there seemed to be an anti-prog drug in the water at the end of the 1970s. So many great groups crashed back to earth then. It was not an age of idealism.....
Just one more reason Magma is my love ! .
La partie "histoire" / narration vieillit mal, par contre le groove reste vraiment très bon.!

Guy Khalifa est un excellent pianiste, pour le chant c'est moins concluant. A part ANOINE PAGANOTTI, aucun n'est arrivé a égaler Klaus.

Heureusement que cette soupe n'a pas trouvé de public, car sinon au lieu de se reprendre et de nous offrir K-A nous aurions eu droit à la déchéance totale et l'humiliation de Magma qui aurait sans doute fini en première partie de la Compagnie Créole.

Khalifa n'était cependant pas si mal. D'autant qu'il ne cherchait pas à imiter Klaus. Il apportait là son univers personnel. Le nouveau chanteur HERVE AKNIN n'est pas mal non plus (avec un "coffre" qui se rapproche de celui de Klaus).
je préférais le fils Paganotti, j'ai beaucoup de mal avec Akin.
