I think so, but Rafa in roland garros he arrive to improve is level and in Bastad he played well but too many matches in one week, I think this play on this level
This match is completely and utterly irrelevant. Nadal is still 112-3 at RG, Zverev beat a 30% Nadal, doesn’t mean anything, this was just Nadal saying goodbye and showing his gratitude for everything. Even in 22 Nadal was way past his prime and was beating Zverev before he got injured in one of the greatest unfinished matches of all time. Prime Nadal would have bageled Zverev though.
Such injustice for Rafa to meet 3 consecutive times RG semifinalist and 2 time Italian Open champion Zverev who after this match would (to no surprise) go on to reach the finals, losing to Alcaraz in 5
Let's use this as a proof to call Rafa the GOAT, ohh wait, he lost it, they call it weak era and still he lost to a player in this era, if this era is weak, 38 year old injured Rafa should win the RG no?
@@huntershinn9852 he advanced past the first round, and I really wouldn't clown on someone for withdrawing from injury when your guy is the king of injury.
@@huntershinn9852 Oh, he absolutely has, especially before he fixed his diet and became the greatest tennis player of all time. It's just not nearly as common. If Djokovic is the Nadal of quitting due to injury, as in, he's second place, then Nadal is surely the Djokovic of withdrawing due to injury. The most injured of all time. MIOAT.
@@kagakai7729don't talk like a newbie..rafa played inform Zverev in first round and Djokovic played qualifiers..at Roland Garros no one is equal to rafa
Sad sight this game was... Rafa is trying to play, but cannot move, cannot hit anymore and subsequently getting dismantled on his own court in straight sets by Zverev, who is good player in all fairness. Yet great players should avoid this kind of humiliation late in their career.
Honestly, Rafa didn't play badly here; this was probably his best performance of the year. Unfortunately, Zverev was too good, and you have to be at your best to beat him. Moreover, I think that at Roland Garros, Zverev at 100% is better than Nadal at 100%. Zverev has a superior serve and backhand (Nadal's spin from the forehand side doesn't trouble him), hits harder and deeper. Therefore, I believe Zverev would win regardless.
Well I still think we saw the best version of zverev against nadal in rg 2022 with nadal being almost on one leg yet zverev was never in a winning position and even if he remained injury free throughout the match rafa would have won in 4
Nadal is still the most dominant player on clay in the history of tennis though, his records at RG will forever be untouched. Don’t even see anyone beating his 81 clay winning streak either. This match was just Nadal saying goodbye.
@@fransiscoscaramanga674 I know Djokovic is the goat and the most complete player, but this dude was making fun of a 30% Nadal losing to someone who should have won a slam by now. Even Djokovic fans know this was a shadow of Nadal. Prime Djokovic would destroy Zverev on clay as well. Anyone who thinks this was a reason to mock Nadal is very stupid. It was the last stop on clay for Nadal’s farewell tour, simple as that.
This level was much higher than whole week of Bastad 250 level which he played last week.

@@enzofortunato8039 yeh that is what he said, not used to playing continuously especially with 2 intense matches in between
A 250 is vastly different level to a slam.

Thank you for posting this match who is certainly the Last match of Rafa although i hope he can for one last time as a tennis player

In fact it was the last time we saw Nadal in Roland Garros, an entire part of my life is leaving... Thank you Rafa

Are you joking haha zverev at 100% vs nadal prime 100%
Nadal would beat him maybe 62 63 64
If only Zverev didn't choke he would have at least one slam
conditions favored zverev with his backhand & stadium closed
A fit Rafa used to kick much younger Zverev in Melbourne,IW,Rome....but time and tide wait for none.
