Dang, what a great interview. I never saw Bill as relaxed and candid as he is here. Having just added another national championship to his list of accomplishments obviously lifts the spirit, but I think the fact that he’s talking with friends, in Landon and Richard, is what makes this such a free and easy conversation.
Love it guys. Landen you were a beast. Your work ethic was unmatched.

Hate it, but I like Bill Self. He's one of those guys who'll do what it takes to get to the top without intentionally harming others. I didn't say WIN, I said get to the top. He'll straddle the grey line (and slip sometimes), but he's in it to win it. He walks the line. Life.

Truth. One of Self's least talented teams wins the Championship, when much more talented teams couldn't get it done. He knows its in the minds of the players. That delicate blend of chemistry that makes a team is what wins. I mean, everyone is physically talented today within a minor bandwith. But, the nuances in team building takes a much wider bollinger band to contain it. And then, luck. Yep. (Kentucky fan here)

The Kentucky game was the best thing that could have happened to Kansas (at the time) this past season, while it may have also have been the worst thing that could have happened to Kentucky. It shows to go you.

Plz like me. I coach the least criticized team in the world. No coaching necessary,just hit your free throws that will be called at a 2 to 1 ratio for my team. Refs have guaranteed me 20 wins a year no matter how bad we are.
