I’m not a fan of “unwritten rules”. So the kid stealing the ball at the end of the game, though classless and unnecessary, was legal. The KU guy rejecting the shot was just as legal. The KU player standing over the K-State player was guilty of taunting. That’s a technical foul. That’s where it should have ended. The K-State player coming off the bench and going after DeSousa is guilty of starting the brawl. He should be banned and expelled.

ESPN said that DeSousa and McCormack should be suspended for the season. It was a terrible thing but no one was hurt and McCormack should be suspended for 2 games and DeSousa for 5 games. No one was hurt and Kansas State instigated the brawl by stealing the ball down 30.

KU - Number 22 and 33 and KSU the player in plain clothes will not be surprised if suspended for a period of time. Self - I am not sure if its the right thing to do, to play until the whistle....and we had problems with KSU like this before...what? Bruce Weber....does he know a fight happened and punches thrown? However Bill Self and from what I know of Bruce Weber are stand up people.

@zobe70. Good point. Soccer matches are the same way in England. I used to have friends who played in recreational leagues. It was brutal. However, I just don't like the violence. I am more afraid of a spectator acting a fool than the players. I still believe in good sportsmanship.

@cpk1994 The difference in the two couldn't have been more stark. Self talked on and on about how bad he felt and punishment. Weber talked about Kansas kicking their butts. Not saying either is right but they sure couldn't have been different in their approach to the questions.

Missouri beat Kansas and won the north division. A second place team went to a BCS bowl. One of the reasons they started the CFB playoffs.

This is why coaches make the 'mistake' of calling us thugs and not slugs. They have to realize they are role models period whether you like it or not. You cant be 'yourself' as much as when you were untelevised. Even our rappers are role models regardless. These blacks have to remember we get over scrutinized for negative behavior even though fights happen in white dominated sports as well but the major sports, the popular sports are predominantly black so if something negative happens we automatically fit the media stereotype.
