After spending a day in disneyland last week, I totally agree that the whistle sound at the tree house is super annoying and super irritating and can be heard from far away like nails on a chalkboard!!!
Was in the park on Friday 1/3 and noticed small wood boxes along the Pirates queue, smaller but similar to what was at Space Mountain. Turns out it's for the same thing - they are re-furbishing some of the light posts and the boxes cover the empty mounts.
It would be neat if the Cozy Cone lobby is being retrofitted to be a queue for the POS systems. But then they'd probably have to move the meet and greets, so maybe not. It would make a ton of sense to have the order station in that lobby though.
From what I heard about imagineers searching for props, they went to antique stores and locations where they could get authentic objects rather than inexpensive knock-offs. An example is all the mining equipment at Big Thunder.
I think I started following you right before they took down the AMC to build this part in Downtown Disney! I feel like we’ve really accomplished something (as if we are part of the construction lol)!
I absolutely love these construction updates and I've been a fan for YEARS. Love seeing you around the parks. Noticing the video is a little 'steppy', make sure the frame rate in which you shoot these great videos matches the frame rate of the timeline you're editing in and you should get smoother results!
If Disney keeps on this 'path' with Downtown....it will become a very popular spot for OC residents. That's also the rational for those high prices.....Downtown will become a it's own 'place-to-go' for local RESIDENTS completely separate from both parks....
Yup Disney is in the business of lifestyle and no longer parks. It’s been long overdue since they’ve doing the same thing in Florida. They put a Disneyland hotel/apartments in my valley. The Coachella valley.
Thanks for yet more great info!!! I’m glad to see the new dining by the stage. I’m working on a new afternoon show there in a few weeks so I need to get out there soon for a tech scout. I still miss that Sprinkles that was there over where I used to be. Hope to see you guys soon!
12:04 Why they don't put up more Rolly Crump or Marc Davis Haunted Mansion concept art is beyond me. There are literally files overflowing with it in the archives.
That Vista place sure has Florida vibes for me! Reminds me of the DCP's Flamingo Crossings Village (where I lived for a short time 😁). Too bad about the prices.
I think you're saying inside the park food is more than outside the park food cuz you know the price of the ticket should be covering a percentage of All transport into the park if it can't then that's when that Park just can't handle actually having anybody come in
So, to be clear, Disney needs to raise prices in the park so that they are more expensive than the prices in Downtown Disney? Also, are you aware that these restaurants are NOT owned or operated by the Walt Disney Company? The restaurant owners set the prices, not Disneyland.
That's not David in the thumbnail. That's some weird AI-generated person. Look at all of his latest thumbnails. He's doing exactly what Disney is being chastised for. lol.
I went on on Sunday and it took me 1 hour and 15 mins from Toy Story parking to step foot into Disneyland for rope drop. Lol, I totally missed rope drop that day! Craziness just to get into the parking lot.😮

The fake candles in Madame Leota's shop look so new and shiny that it really detracts from the rest of the scene. Maybe add a little dust on them so they look like they really were used? Thanks for the update!
I don’t care if Disney buys off the shelf art or decor for set dressing. But when they do they should support artists and not ai. I think this is a good move

to answer a sandwich question~ let see, the usual chicken sammy is about $6.00 in the usual off property fast food places or even dennys. I knew prices were highly inflated at disneyland but thats rediculous.
Disneyland park food is so affordable. Here in Vancouver for our summer Fair the PNE We pay $20 or more for burgers etc. a rack of Pork ribs was $50 and a rack of Beef ribs was $60 I’d pay Disney food prices any day

I'd be ok if they replaced that ai 'art' with one of the sinister eleven from Disney World. Maybe make it so that the eyes follow you as you walk by just like it was in the 70s WDW mansion maybe. But either way a good small win :)
Random DL question: Can Deadpool still be found anywhere in the parks? I guess specifically Avengers Campus at DCA? My kids want to meet him so bad but I hear he's no longer doing character meet & greets.
I'm amazed that they removed the AI art. I have no doubt that they have listened and have seen the criticism coming from the TH-cam channels as well as social media. I certainly welcome it. I also know that they're not going to see a better analysis than what they see on fresh baked so it's wise that they listened LOL. FreshBaked. David, upstairs at the "Parkside Mkt." is the ideal place to sit and watch the Monorail's glide past. We might have to support the "Vista" bar. I can see it becoming home away from home. Disney's "Set Decorator," Emile Kuri and his team purchased all sorts of things to dress Disneyland. Also, Walt, Lillian and the original Imagineers all would buy items for the park on their travels. Walt would even commision special artwork. Not plastic items off E Bay. Pete should go into selling " fresh baked" pie's! Cheers, Chris Perry
Wait... are you saying that Walt and the folks who originally built Disneyland didn't buy any of the plastic stuff they used in the parks off of eBay? I can't imagine making such a bold statement, especially considering that plastics hadn't yet gone into mainstream use and eBay wouldn't be invented until nearly 30 years after Walt's death. Next thing you'll say is that they didn't use Etsy to get the polyester clothes used in the original Tomorrowland costumes?
@@WindowtotheMagic There was no E Bay, so the items that were purchased were original items. But these day's Disneyland set dressers can purchase much cheaper copies on line. So here is my 2c for the prices on the food. It's pretty much a city location food hall prices. I did a look around my area (I live in the DC metro area), average sit down prices for a chicken sandwich ranges from 14-18 bucks, without drink/fries. Fast Food it's 5-8, without drink/fries. Add a bit of the Disney Tax and honestly... it's not that unrealistic. Now should Chicken Sandwiches cost that much... that's a different discussion but it's the market prices these days.
Now, there you go being logical and rational... If you aren't careful you might actually ruin the perfectly good emotion based online rage that's building up here. LOL

I would be curious on some parking recon. Time from lining up at the lot to scanning into your first park, as well as the trip back to your car. Do 5 trips and both M&F and Toy Story and post the results hahaha. My question is what do you think is a reasonably time to park and go through security? I think 30 min is ok, 45+ is too long.
We try to get to M&F an hour prior to park opening, not too busy, maybe 4 cars in front of us when we get to the booth. Security is a breeze. Walk on the tram. We get into the park with about 10-20 mins to spare before rope drop, we take our Main Street pics/castle pics and then park opens!!
I always do M&F lot. Once took 35 min to get through the toll gate from the street into to lot, but usually it’s fine. The escalator and tram ride kinda help shift my brain from 2.5 hr freeway drive to Disneyland vibe. Average about 30 min parking to main gate but usually you’re moving the whole time so it doesn’t seem long.
I have said it before and I will say it again. I am fully convinced that Disney watches Vloggers and those who comment on their work for recon. What better way to find out your errors or mistakes then by your fans who have taken the time to post about your work. So, be honest in your opinion and critique. You never know who is watching.
I find it interesting that while Disney won't put Dr. Facilier in Tiana's, because he represents voodoo, which they consider a religion, but they feel it okay to have books on witchcraft and the occult in the Haunted Mansion gift shop. They are both props used to tell a story. I guess it's better to push incantations on people than have them sing Zip-a-dee-doo-da.
The big difference between Imagineers back in the day buying set pieces and now is, in the past they sought out unique, one of a kind item. Now they just sit down with an iPhone and check Temu and Etsy and buy generic crap that anyone can purchase. There’s no soul in so much of the new offerings. Just going down a check list.
And that "fresh baked" pie from Pete? Iconic. 😂❤👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Does Disney Parks have / employ any Artists (Graphic or otherwise) any more?
Probably not. It's probably all contract work. I am guessing, tho...
Solar lights?
December 4th Dave?
I was just thinking this is what $18 starting wages gives you.
