Consider the average price of a decent home in LA is likely to broach a million or more. Long term residents will have paid considerably less. For decades now, in Australia there have been massive education campaigns about "leave at dawn or don't leave", cause last minute evacuations are what cost lives. The bill simply went to far, remove that issue and it would have been passed. (Edit: Also, I do believe the dam removal you are referring to is the end-of-life dams taken down from the Klamath watershed. No other river courses have been undammed, and no other reservoirs have been taken out, especially in southern california. The only dam removal you could be referring to is 700+ miles north of this area that's being covered in the video, and was around 4 small to medium sized dams.)

What I don't understand is why, given the increasing severity of these wildfires, there isn't a more proactive approach being taken. It's clear that the conditions are worsening, yet the response seems reactive rather than preventative. Authorities should seriously consider investing in advanced government facilities or technologies that can help induce rainfall or enhance moisture in these parched regions. The dry landscapes are primed for disaster, with fires capable of consuming a football field's worth of land in a single minute-that's alarming and extreme.

I live in Southern California. We are actually a desert. It rarely rains. All of our water is pumped in. So when the Santa Ana winds blow in from the actual desert, it can cause havoc if there is a fire. These are the worst winds I've ever seen. Some gusts were over 100 mph! It only takes a small spark. Contrary to what people think, these fires are not caused by climate change . This past year, we had the Line fire near me, caused by arson, another caused by heavy equipment sparking, and there are fires started from faulty electrical lines. But when it doesn't rain it doesn't take much. This is REAL bad
