I think the first young woman could really rock a mix of the two and create her own style. There's also nothing wrong with trying different looks whenever you feel like it. I used to switch up my looks until I found "athletic-lazy".

Haha! I think so many of us are here too! I actually make a point of not wearing athletic stuff now bc it started to feel like a rut. I think post pandemic is also fueling more natural makeup too.
Hahaha that's me. I literally said to my partner while watching this "I wish my style was more alternative coz I love how it looks... but I'm just too lazy". I'll still occasionally do more with my makeup to go out... but on the day-to-day... no makeup, shorts & a t-shirt. I work out too much to keep up with all the makeup and accessories haha.
the stylists here did a terrible job im ngl. but nonetheless, i just wanna say that the girl who refers to herself as a gimbo is honestly so beautiful in her normal attire. she rocks the makeup, the no brow and the hair so well ahhhh

Totally agree with you. They all look amazing how they already are. And Tommy is absolutely stunning! Her Gimbo look is definitely her, and really suits her. And the clothes she wears are beautiful!

fascinating to see the confidence level plummet with each as they saw their "new selves (Old selves?)" . their postures, their heads bowed, the inability to look people in the eye. it was just a costume and yet it affected their demeanors so much.
it has the opposite effect when people put on a uniform , I.E. police, SS, traffic wardens etc

What I loved about this was that each one ended up appreciating their normal look even more, and I have to add that they all look SO GOOD as their dark goth selves.
I'm a huge fan of goth looks, and a cosplayer (who enjoys dramatic looks) myself, but there's something so perfect and natural about seeing these ladies without their makeup on, even if just for mere moments.
They looked so uncomfortable tho
@@boomstronkheks659 Of course, it's a bit of a mask in a sense and having that taken away can be shocking because it represents the known and is being handed off for the unknown. I cosplay often for conventions and there's a certain sense of courage that comes with owning an extreme look. When that's taken away and people see through to who you are underneath that can be scary.
Goth girl here.. I'd never do this. They clearly look unhappy after the transformation. They look stunning in their Goth style ❤

The first one- She is so beautiful and one of those looks about her could transform into anything!! I'd love to see her on again and next time with brown hair and a hippy style! Also her makeup skills are out of control!!
The second one- I also think they could do many different looks and would love to see them with all different looks. She looks best whwh she is smiling, such a beautiful smile!
The third one- wow she is stunning as a goth..they all are but she pulls it off so well and reminds me of somebody..an actress who's nanebi forget. I also think they did her dirty with her outfit lol it was ba LOT! But her face..makeup transformation..WOW! She is beautiful no matter what look she does! She is gorgeous but the outfit they gave her was.. just comical/mean lol! They chose the wrong outfit completely.
The forth girl- wow, another gorgeous goth! I really like her goth style because it's goth/punk alternative and her hair looks great on her! I enjoy her section of clothing and shoes and accessories the most and can't wait to see her behoemian look!! So after: I am convinced they need to hire me as a stylist because I could have chosen a much better bohemian look! The looks they are choosigg don't even seem up to date! But again this girl isnatubbibg and looks so beautiful in her after! I dislike how they did her makeup and hair for after the most though they chose..the wrong colors in my opinion.

Exactly i totally agree.... Why the hell will you give someone and Entirely fuschia wardrobe its insane. And the last girl too she looked unflattering with that older mom suit idk what that was but it didn't suit her body they should've went for a look like the second one more of her age
You really see their personalities shine when they are in their own fashion. When they try these others styles, its nice to see them being respectful and goofing around but you truly see their demeanor change and they become instantly uncomfortable. I'm happy to see them enjoying their lives in their unique styles/ways!
Now do it in reverse! Take "regular" people and GOTH them up!!

Literally all of these women are GLORIOUS & GORGEOUS! I wish I looked like any of them in any of the aesthetics. I feel like they could all be great friends and take on the world together. I also think it is super cool how each could have such varied and unique looks/styles while still having basically black wardrobes with pale skin and bold/black eyes
They definitely all looked better as their goth selves. That's who they are and what makes them feel comfortable.
The interesting thing is each model was able to rock both styles . . . what a gift !!! I would also be remiss if I didn't mention the amazing talent of the makeup artists who did the transformations !!

Truthfully, I could’ve styled, done their make up so much better (i’m a hairdresser/make up artist with an excellent sense of style if I do say so myself😂) When I see them I envision some thing much different and I agree with the friends,The makeovers they were given do not do them justice whatsoever
I agree: putting them in such hideous clothes (neon pink, white sneakers! ugh) and terrible wigs really didn't do them any justice at all.
The clothes were the worst. I personally hate pink. Never had pink as a little girl even.
I used to do the goth look but also enjoyed glamming it up. Being a makeup artist means I can be any character I want including a monster if I feel like it. It's Halloween year round. There's nothing wrong with wanting to look different whether that means creepy or pretty.

I actually like the goth make up better than the Barbie look. The goth make up and clothing is very artistic and interesting. It's not my personal look or style, but I appreciate the unique goth looks.
They had a lolita on the show once and I WISH they had gone down the goth route for them because that was the BEST opportunity to do so. Another fun episode was when a girl decided she actually wanted to incorporate some of the look into her future looks
Everyone should dress how they see fit, but they honestly look amazing. It really brings out their natural features!
It's weird that you say 'natural' because most of them are wearing even more make-up after the make-over than they did before + wigs instead of their natural hair, while fingernails, clothes etc. are basically the same in a different style. It actually makes me sad that people believe skin-tone make-up is somehow normal while black/blue etc make-up isn't.
I know that's not exactly what you meant - you were thinking along the lines of "how they might look if they hadn't shaved part of their hair, had less piercings and tattoos, less obvious make-up and so on" But if they had done none of that they would still look miles away from how they look after the make-over which gave them unnaturally full and shiny hair, make up that pronounced and changed their natural facial features and so on [look at the girls who can't recognize her nose - it's because they used shading techniques to make it appear slimmer].

@@moonbeeps I don't really know what you are objecting to ^^'? I never talked about how they look without make-up. They are all beautiful without make-up. I was talking about the make-over and how the make-over version does basically the same to their natural beauty as the gothic make-up - just in a more conventional way - and that I find it sad that people believe there is a difference. When it comes to a person's style they always look best with what they are comfortable with and there is no reason whatsoever to discuss tastes.
@@passio-735 Something like 80's goth makeup does change a lot your face fatures, more than a "natural makeup" does. Put a lot of black eye shadow obviously gonna make more diference than put a nude tone. (p.s: I like goth style)

When I was a kid I used to laugh at people whow dresses and looks different from the norm. But as I grew older I learned to understand and appreciate their uniqueness.

All these girls are beautiful in either of the looks. Personally I prefer the non goth looks and you can see their natural beauty even in their horrible outfits (typical for these transformations!) All 4 are also very skilled make up artists and fashionistas who truly embody their unique looks! Kudos to them all!

I wish these transformations took into account some of their tastes and gave them an alternate style but still something that might work for them. Like neutrals with their goth shoes and harnesses. Maybe brown and burgundy makeup tones. It’s really possible to give fashionable transformations that they might possibly pick up and incorporate into their looks. Just saying.
I agree with what you said. I still wear my goth style to school. I work with special needs kids at a middle school. I wear my dark eye shadow and blush. But it's not over the top is good, and there are some things I need to learn during my two weeks winter break. But I can be dark and still be the teachers aide they all know and love.

The second girl is just naturally beautiful.... I understand that she feels that goth is her identity, and im happy for her that she has found her "comfort zone".... But she would stand out in a crowd regardless of her style ..
Tommy’s personality is my favorite. They did Tommy dirty though. She’s right, she did look terrifying! 😂 The pink was clashing all over the place, the rhinestones on the lash band take away from how beautiful her eyes are, the pieces used to create the outfit were just NOT working together, and the lipstick is way too bold. It’s almost as if they were TRYING to make her hate the look lol.
Those are so cool! I consider myself Goth too (but am being kept from dressing like it by my parents....) so I'm already happy to see those people here with their amazing styles and also their reactions afterwards are priceless

The transformation outfits were bad. The stylists didn't find clothes to compliment their bodies. They look great as goths & "normal".

I know it's a tv show for rating, but if they have gently mixed styles, they'd be more open to wearing them. They all looked stunning before and after. I feel bad for the second girl who looked like she wanted to die when her boyfriend made joking comments.
The transformed looks in my opinion look better because it looks more natural. But what they feel comfortable in also expresses their personality.

We're here, so why not show us in our alternative glory. Instead of what seems like pretending we don't exist. Many types of people need to be seen in the media so they can know there not alone. When i grew up we didn't have the internet and even though i lived in a big city in the U.S. I hardly ever saw alternative people of color at concerts, on tv or on the street. Things have changed a lot now because of social media so that should be reflected. Diversity is beautiful. I did see a few Poc in videos after this one.👀😊❤️

Am I the only girl who likes to dress up in different styles on different days? Sometimes I'll go a little goth, sometimes more sorority girl, sometimes punk, sometimes just lazy.
No you're not the only one. I change up my look too. I have goth, punk, regular, prep, girly, etc type of clothes. I just go by how I feel that day.

I'd be the same but my problem always was that I never had and have money to explore different styles because I need to wear my clothes for a couple of years so yeah I always have to choose clothes that I'd probably still like in 3 years 😅
I have half my head shaven dressed like a bimbo somedays other times punk but recently really into the soft clean natural look. I get bored wearing same thing plus I'm a cam model so I'm constantly looking for new looks. I $h!t you not I dress like a clown on occasion. I'm 31 years old and still love to dress up.

I've noticed goth or alternative people are usually the nicest people you'll ever meet in your life very free and open minded people not judgemental. the best time of my life was growing up in the alternative goth crowd's. They never shunned anyone or made fun of others just didn't care about that stuff..🖤
I think because these looks are judged a lot so if you guys have the courage to go with it then you know how nice it is to accept others different than you 😊 Also like the comment above mine, you guys are perceived as scary but I think those I've seen are really nice people 💜
I never heard of that stigma against goth chicks. They know not to be judgmental because they still face it. I would like to dress goth or post punk but I know some of my family will judge me. I’ve got the accessories, the music and the creative instinct but I haven’t went all out.

@@MyMelinaaa20 plus years in the anarchopunk/crust punk scene and I can 100% confirm. (I also know a lot of goths, metal heads, and other sorts of ‘alt’ folks. They’re usually the most level headed and wholesome.
The first girl seems so mf sweet. All goths I’ve met are the sweetest people in the world. I’m alt/goth so I love seeing the genuineness of these people. Just because we wear different things, does not mean we are SCARY. It’s just different and that is OKAY.
Being scary is ok too 🤭 if you can’t handle it, and you avoid me, even better 👏🏼
People create this idea in their heads that people in the punk or goth scenes must be really intense or crazy people; when in fact they’re usually just nerds who found an alternative way to be cool. Most people in these scenes are genuinely nice folks.

People instinctively judge based on looks. It’s a protection thing. If someone believes an individual looks scary, they’ll naturally avoid him or her.
@@EmberGore Attempting to intimidate people so they let you alone is cowardice and bullying behavior. There is always someone bigger, stronger who might actually be dangerous and who might actually throw down the gauntlet and beat you to a pulp.
There was this group in the late 90s who used to go to amusement parks, festivals and the beach boardwalk dressed like vampires. They leader (I called Count Chocula) was a lanky unattractive puny pasty faced dude had some sort of device that allowed him to suddenly and quietly glide and his long cape would preternaturally swell out around him like a half opened umbrella and sort of flutter at the bottom. I was out with my daughters and his little entourage suddenly cross our path. The other would be vampires spread out surrounding us showing teeth hissing, smiling menacingly and he did his hover trick towards us which really frightened both my daughters one 6 and the other almost 2. I was angry. The little chicken shiets would have never done that with my husband with us. Being scary isn't okay.
I feel like the cheap, unprepped/unplucked wigs remove any chance of them genuinely liking the new look.

For me it was that as well as the clothing that was picked didn't flatter their bodies as well as they could have. Like I know there was better choices but these weren't it, I love their own styles though they are all so pretty.
Yeah, but wigs cost a lot of money and they make a lot of these videos. They could change the clothing though, the clothing is usually horrific.
Those rhinestone eyes look so tacky, as well. I hate rhinestones.
same for the clothing...color is one thing, but the styles, fabrics, lack of ironing, were all just hideous and insulting. they "truly" needed clothes that flattered their bodies to show how they looked with another possible overall look
