They won't waste their money on wigs that are going to be worn for literally 30mins and not appreciate. All of them hated their 'new looks' because they hated not being themself so why waste money?

You do realise that in the makeover she was caked in just as much make-up as her goth look.
I genuinely believe most of these just have their own style but it can't be denied that Amber's childhood bullying clearly caused trauma that severely impacted her in later life. She has quite literally covered what was bullied. Without her tattoos, she was uncomfortable and admits to feeling like a teenager again, the teenager that was bullied. Never bully people.

Erin looked like a supermodel after her makeover! Imagine her in a look combining goth and glam- it'd be stunning! Amber is supermodel gorgeous too, I believe she actually is an alternative model. I love how supportive her makeup artist and especially her mother are.

All of these people are beautiful before and after makeup. I'm 55 and learned a long time ago what it feels like to lose yourself. So I say you be you and always stay true to yourself. Stay beautiful inside and out
The world need more people that think like you, only i know how many weird looks and random insults I heard from random people on the streets, appreciate your open mind.

If everyone looked average, what a boring world it would be. We need non-average people to remind us that the world does not have to conform to normal looks.
I love this. I love how accepting the parents are of their kid’s individuality. They are all remarkable before and after. How special to be able to provide this to people, even if the results aren’t appreciated fully by everyone, lol.
i find it strange when people wear clothes just to "be different" how about wearing clothes that you like? i am a goth myself, but i dont think people who dress "normally" are boring or plain. people are just people. wear what you like, dont wear clothes to make a whole life statement or to stand out lol. i just find that wild

Watched a couple of these so far.. seems like the boyfriend's face shows how much he loves the new look, though since the girlfriends don't like it, the boyfriends say they don't like it despite looking like they loved it upon reveal lol.. people should just be honest, who you love should look great to you no matter what they're wearing.
Most of them just looked shocked. Being shocked, and smiling doesn't mean you like it. If those men actually like it better, then they would have dated someone with that actual style.

Amber doesn't have to feel insecure at all. I mean look at her, she looks prettt with her tattoos on but I had to admit that she looks really gorgeous without it.

Parents ask "How do you feel?" not because they agree with tattoos, but because they don't. They would like their children to be natural, not covered up.

I just watched another one of these. I find it odd that the partners or best friends have never seen them without makeup. No sleep overs? No after shower? No swimming? Sounds very sad to me.

They are just not used to the way they are normal because all their life they spent was not normal.
I myself experience bullying, mental disability, self abuse, depression, ADHD, etc.
And i too had the mindset of going to slice my tongue or going to have my tongue, ear, eyebrow piercing because it affected my mindset without knowing it could destroy me, but i tell myself that it won't change the way i am so i didn't.
It's not about belief in God nor Devil.
This is just about the battle of mentality.

Awww! Now Ethan is saying that he regrets all his face tattoos and is lazering them off ! … too bad he tattooed the whites of his eyes as well. That’s never gonna come off .. His was an “ extreme “ case , l guess with hindsight , age and changing life priorities you learn to walk back certain choices made in the hedonism of youth . He is a lovely guy !
Makes me sad because a lot, not all, but many of these people cover themselves up and distort their bodies due to trauma and as a reaction to their insecurities. I’m glad if they’re happy, but I feel like for many of them, it (tattoos, piercings, cutting their tongue…) will never be enough and they keep on adding more as a way to cope… I just hope they find happiness with themselves down the line.

Some of these people were rude about the clothes. I don't know why they accept to make the transformation if they know they will be disrespectful when saying they don't like it. No one has to like it, but at least respect it.

I like how in America someone is free to explore themselves in terms of style or personality at a young age. I’m in my twenties and still contemplating on how to transform from normal to exactly who I see myself as in the inside.

Amber is absolutely a stunning young woman with or without tattoos. All my children are tattooed even two of my grandchildren are as well. My mother, myself, my daughter, and granddaughter all got tattoos on the same day. Tried to get my nanna for first e generation tattoo session but retirement home said no to the outing due to her health problems 🥺

The artist are excellent! And the transformation look beautiful! It's the wigs, it's like they gave up on styling the hair after devoting time on covering the tattoos.
Really good wigs are really expensive and since they do so many of these it’s kinda hard to afford so many.
Also they probably won’t look good if the person already have another hair color.

Anytime I see these people I feel sorry for them. Their pain is so obvious. Most of them have had trauma early on and have this need to try and hide behind their ridiculous hair and makeup and outfits. Sad. They are all lovely people inside.
You are so far from the truth. Just because someone looks different does not mean they went through trauma. I dress and look similar to the first girl, and I had an amazing childhood. I make straight A's in school, I have a wonderful job< I have great family relations, and I am very active in the church and my community. There is no more brokenness or trauma in these alternative communities as there are in normal communities. Your closed-minded values are toxic and dangerous please learn.

The first lady was absolutely beautiful naturally.. not because of the transformation. Its great shes comfortable expressing her style, but its like shes hiding behind her look instead of enhacing it.
I would love to see the last girl with a brunette wig. She really gave Nina Dobrev (Elena from Vampire Diaries) vibes.
I liked their original selves. Mainly because they felt most comfortable. I don’t know tho, except for the last girl and the guy, they picked the worst outfits for the two super goth chicks. I am not a full goth and I wouldn’t be caught dead in those outfits. It’s almost like I said with a previous makeover; The outfits they picked were an really awful 90’s looking mess. They were super dated. Nobody wears those outfits now. The preppy looked like something out of clueless which OLD. Sorry! They looked great being themselves; as tattooed or being goth’ my personal opinion! 🖤🐈⬛🖤🦇🖤⚰️🖤☠️🖤🕷🖤💀🖤🕸🖤
Understandable, plus for her to become 'herself' takes 2 hours with makeup must be hard. Everyone else had body modifications and tattoos. Just my opinion too!
