Lovely video. Trent XWB sounds like a Trent 800 grunt and a GE90 whine combined. Plus this is my first time seeing an A359 take off with almost full power.

I think the Trent engines especially the XWB sound horrible when compared to their GE/CFM/PW counterparts on Boeing planes. What you call "grunt" is a horrible drilling sound that can be felt throughout the flight and is very annoying if you want to rest in flight. Boeing has been able to get the engine guys to nail the sound part for their planes with the thick honey comb rim on the front and the serrated chevrons at the back. It could also be that the Dreamliner engines being bleedless, are much quieter as all of the thrust is used for flying the plane so they need less. I'm just guessing though. Though these engines are quieter than the ones used on the A330ceo in cruise, seems like Airbus hasn't paid too much attention to the quality of sound on the whole. Important to note that Rolls Royce is largely responsible for this.
I have flown the a330 and a350, can say that the grunt is only heard if the pilot gives it a lot of power mid flight, otherwise, I don’t feel any less uncomfortable in those than in a Boeing. But that’s my opinion of course haha, maybe my ears need to get checked out 😂
Ashwin Valecha Its the difference between Rolls 3 spool design and 2 spool design of others. You'll find that a hell of a lot of people on here love the growl of those Trents. You can FEEL the power of the beasts! People want to hear them too!

I was onboard from Helsinki to Japan in a 787 dreamliner JAL and back trip with A350 Finnair.. I have to say 350 took the first place for me. It felt 'slightly better' in all ways. Operated smooth as Vodka, bit quieter, bit better infotainment system, interiors were spaceious and bit more modern etc (however could be depending on operator)

Considering the max thrust of a Trent xwb on the a350-900 is 84,200lb, it is entire possible it was more than 120000! =D

It’s an Long haul flight it would be more convenient for people on a Long haul flight at night rather then daylight
I make question of using capital letters on this comment. THIS IS THE FIRST A350 TAKE-OFF OPERATION PERFORMED SO QUIETLY. Any other take-off operation shown on TH-cam are out of loud, different from the 787 take-offs using RR engines. Better they solved the scandalous sawmill noise generated on the first delivered A350.
What are you on about? The A350 never had any problems with noise and has often been noted to be quieter than the 787 during cruise and landing with a soft roar during takeoff. You have to remember that people use different microphones that pickup different frequencies thus making the engines sound different. I can assure you, the 787 also makes a roar/sawmill noise on takeoff too.
How does the 757 RB-211 whine fit into what we were talking about. I appreciate your comment but all I was doing was explaining the fact that the A350 never had any sound issues. I don't mean to hate on you or anything btw :)

+ehsan83 we were actually delayed abit, maybe they were rushing 😂 but some Pilots don't really care about stabilising the engines
I get your point. However stabilising the engines adds maybe 3 seconds to the hole trip but unstabilised engines might cause the aircraft to veer off the runway and cause a 24h hours delay. That being said the wise choice should be obvious 😂

WTF same here but moved to Houston now Lived in Singapore for 13 years I did fly a lot out of Changi. Seen most of , Asia. Sad thing is I am going to miss Singapore Airlines and Changi Airport.United Sucks and Bush (The Airport) Sucks as well. But flying SIA this thanksgiving to Singapore to visit friends and first time flying on the 350 so going to be a great experience
