I was there that night. I didn’t realize at the time I was seeing one of the great nights in the legendary Phish canon. I think that’s how it is most of the time. I bet the crowd at Cornell on 5/8/77 didn’t realize they were witnessing one of the legendary nights. All I knew was I was having so much fun on New Year’s Eve with my friends and seeing an awesome Phish show. Obviously I knew they were on point and really in a good groove but I also saw Dead shows in ‘94 and ‘95 where I had an awesomely fun time and enjoyed the concert experience. Those shows now aren’t looked upon favorably but at the time I assure you we didn’t care. It was still fun being there and being a part of the whole experience of enjoying it with thousands of like minded individuals.
Just had to comment that the Charlotte run '95 were my last shows, and the last time I ate acid was the 2nd night. We come back after halftime to find a grand piano on the stage that wasn't there for the first set. Fuck yes, Bruce! And then "Unbroken." The first one was two nights earlier, and that must've been amazing. But the SECOND one, okay this wasn't a one-time thing, it's a full-on breakout! And if you listen to the recordings, even the soundboards, the crowd noise almost drowns out the band throughout the entire performance. Garcia was so overwhelmed that he totally blows the first two verses of of the "Scarlet" that followed. Truly epic, and, incidentally, the most incendiary "Fire" I've ever heard, pun partially intended.
12 31 95 was treys finest hour. insane level of mastery and god letting them be the new gods of music , i was there, it was real and during certain parts, everywhere magic tears of joy flowed as treys majestic sols over the piano chords blew you AWAY. like a kid hearing a music scale the very first time . love love love love and phish peacefully DESTROYED all expectation , bs , all barriers of all sorts , even maybe, themselves that amazing show . it was the best one ever .
I listen to this version once every few weeks. My personal GOAT. The vibe that kicks in at the 6:12 mark is indescribable. Just close my eyes & groove.
I can't believe I just heard this for the first time yesterday. I discovered it on Amazon prime music of all places. I was listening to a playlist called great guitar solo's. This is a masterpiece. I knew a live version would be special and this didn't disappoint. Just great!
This is the best one on record. Only reason phans disagree is because this album got them noticed. Coming from someone born in the late 80's that wasn't fortunate enough to see 1.0, I'm sick and tired of people knocking it because it's the one everybody likes. It's the best, the intro and composition section are near flawless. The jam takes off the rocket. Phans are the last people i thought I'd see turning on something because it wasn't "low key" enough. It's like fans are hipsters now..
Exactly. The hipsters want to point out some obscure pick or a hidden gem instead of just acknowledging facts. Sometimes something is rated as the best evah simply because it’s the best evah!
Found this on a best reba debate forum and wow this is a gem! 10-17-14 was another newer one that deserved a lisen. 93-94 was my favorite for REBA because of Trey being in his prime imho.
greatest show ive ever been, ever . the total was greater than the sum of the parts kinda thing and i somehow find it IMPOSSIBLE that even phish could top it , cliff? no. dope but not as hot. it was in the stars , and one could feel the energy could be no greater , the beauty no greater .it was fucking amazing . beautiful, phenomenal . im not going to search the tube to disprove , or prove my point about the music , because there are so many kickin moments that its academic . perception is weird shit, but this show was obviously the supra-deluxe
Am I mistaken or is this sped up considerably from the NYE 95 album? I know videos are edited sometimes to slip past copyright but fucking with this particular Reba should be a criminal offense
I was there and named one of my favorite dogs after this song. Flew in from California and then flew back out ❤
Nothing better than this right here.. dreamy. My favorite song in the world.

this dude gets it
Whenever Trey wears a shirt that is two sizes too big you know it is on!!
Blipalot71 Same goes for Paul Scholes👍🏻
He wore that shirt for a lot of 94 and almost the entire year of 95
@@JasonZaring Exactly!!
My god what a gorgeous jam.

Still one of my favorkte Reba's. Great way to end a great Fall/Winter 1995 tour. Still have a VHS of this show back in the day.
Phenomenal Reba.
My two year-old daughter just yelled at me "Play it again, Daddy, louder!"
This is one hell of a funky groove!
I really miss those intense jams along with Trey's energetic soloing, really inspiring, they played so hard every single night!

Peak Bobblehead Trey era.

This just right now blew my ducking mind. Quack

so funny that someone mentioned vandy 94 as the version to have of this song. I was across town seeing ozric tentacles, by choice. so I wouldn't know.
Go Trey! Awesome soloing from 6:00 onwards.
Have to agree with a bunch on this the 10-31-94 is top 3 best ever. I like this one though, little speedy on the verse...nice.
YEAHH TREYYY
Still can't believe i scored this on vinyl!
Am I mistaken or is this sped up considerably from the NYE 95 album? I know videos are edited sometimes to slip past copyright but fucking with this particular Reba should be a criminal offense
Nope! This is the original
They played Reba at a faster tempo a lot in 95, IIRC, and often ditched the whistling and reprise at the end.
Shouldn't have cut the outtro but brilliant
def a good one but 10/31/94 says no. (go ahead and look. its on youtube)
depends what your looking for this one is more emotional and that one is more tight and composed , just my opinion
My fav
5/16/95 over this all damn day.
Yeah brotha I agree alldayy
NYE '95 is legendary with some of my favorite jams ever, but '95 was a legendary year in general, so I'll give you that lol.
awesome....but that reba that i was at.....😂
Heehee
great but not as good as 12/31/91
Trey fell off on the unison line with Mike; missed nearly the entirety of it. There are better Reba's...
Good? Yes. The best ever? Nope.
