Picking up an Ixia compact next week. I looked at 3 scopes when I was in the shop.
    Optically, the Optisan nailed it!

I've just bought the fixed magnification version to put on my TX200. It's excellent!

I've just ordered one for my RTI Priest 2.
Just got into HFT and it's supposed to be the bee's knees for it.

I was wanting the element helix but after hearing about this for HFT I'm heading towards this scope. How are you guys getting on with this scope for hft?

Good review Giles, they look like real quality scopes, a bit pricey but you get what you pay for.

First I've heard that about the parallax been effected by the circumference size of the objective lens, that's handy to know. Thanks for the info.

10x is nice but I've have preferred a 8x or even a 6x fixed. For hunting while walking or standing you don't need much more, and 10x might make it harder to find the critters.

I agree, I find 6x is a useful amount of magnification while still having wide enough picture to get on the target quickly. 10x is preferred by HFT shooters who are using the sight picture to help judge distance but they don't need to worry about the metal target running away. The 10x is still a good airgun hunting scope, the advantage of fixed magnification is you get used to it.

    Are those springer rated?

I like the Hawke AIRMAX 30 TOUCH 3-12x32 scope, it too has a small objective lens of 32mm with a 30mm tube. Also given it has such a short eye relief of 30mm it produces a massive field of view of 63.8 feet. It's a great little scope. I'm tempted to write to Hawke to ask if they'ed consider making a 4-20x or a 5-25x.

These are the same as the Vector and Discovery, and the issue with oem's whoreing themselves to everyone.

Nope. If you’re comparing an Optisan to a Vector then you definitely have never used an Optisan. There’s a reason that vector scopes get thrown in with gun deals and Optisan’s don’t.
