Been watching your covers for years. I live up in WA, raised by a mom who was a grunge type singer in her youth and a dad who loves Alice In Chains! Despite that, I wound up going and singing operatically for competition when I was in high school, and have since been trying to step back into my rock roots. I feel like this video has so far done the best job of explaining the actual feeling of singing this way, and I want to thank you for demystifying it for us!
I've watched tons of TH-cam videos regarding placement & tone and your video is one of the best so far , I'm a soul & RnB singer but as you know singing is singing and your explanation makes so much sense as in feeling and elevation lift you also have a great sense of humour . Thank you for sharing your knowledge, I'll stay tuned in .
Fantastic lesson! In one of your previous vids, you touched on loudness and “pulling back”. Do you have any vids covering this topic, or are you planning on putting one out going over this? Thank you for your contributions!
Great lesson as always! Like a treasure hunt you are constantly leaving gems to find every time. You have helped me enormously. Thank you! I always look forward to your next post.
Where the F was this wonderful man 9 months ago when I started this whole vocal journey? This would have saved me a sold 3 months of seeing no progress and informed me that placement and vows were important. I started 9 months ago thinking as long as sound came out and was on pitch it sounded good😂😂😂😂
Thank you, I have found placement and I have felt that I have more volume and shine. Is that what they call twang? Maybe I should find some body in my voice, so as not to scare the audience away.
Do you have more excercises on this topic on your patreon? I'm able to sing high with zero tension (yesterday i sang for 2 hours aprox bruno mars high type stuff) but my tone is crap! The video is really cool though
Thanks I keep returning to this for good reminder. So does it mean also that our head voice have wider range vs the chest? For example chest can go 2 octaves but head voice can do more? Thanks!
