Ramy I do feel sorry for him, something more must have happened other than the shoulder injury, his weak points got worse, he even had problem walking by the looks of things, he also never had not been able to hold a pose, and he did. They dont want pure mass they want perfectly sculpted and conditioned to the bone. Its extremely competitive and the guys this size who had the lowest bodyfat and smallest waists have been winning. The league is making a clear statement it wants massive people for sure but not to the point of it being a big bubble gut party. At a certain point asking these people for more mass comes at a terrible price and becomes grotesque

    Hadi had the best midsection of them all and also kept his midsection flexed through all the poses most notably lat spread* from the front, all the other guys look like they have flat bellies but you can see hadi’s 8 pack perfectly. They will be midsection focused and they want slim waists like bumstead and for a phil gut to never make it to finalists stage again. 7:40 to see the front lat spread check the abdominals

Xavier over at Desktop Bodybuilding mentioned his preference for Derek because, among other things, he's religious and speaks English. Not quite sure what either of those things have to do with judging a bodybuilding contest.

  • @AS.47

    They really gotta to stop them from stepping over the line. The problem is if one does it, everyone does. It's such a nonsensical and unsportsmanlike advantage. Also the lighting, background, video quality and camera angles once again were just plain terrible. This is supposed to be the pinnacle of bodybuilding and it's presented like an amateur show. It's so frustrating to see how much potential is wasted in every regard when you imagine how great this show COULD be.

And we also see the new era of bodybuilding forming with the younger gen like Derek, Nick, Samson, and others like Blessing, Andrew Jacked etc. In the end, Hadi's victory was well deserved. You achieved a lot for bodybuilding and all the people around the world love you and cherish you. Bodybuilding is a hard sport and put the body under a lot of efforts, sarcrifice, determination, hard work, training, dieting and chemical products. You don't need this anymore, you are a great champion and you will stay all the time in our heart and soaul. Forget the competition, continue training and no competition it doesn't worth it. I dont think politics were left at the door for ramy. I think the guest posing and lack of appearances hurt him. He was off by a larger margin last my year. It wasent till people saw his position on stage that we thought there was any trouble for ramy.. Dont get me wrong, I dont think he should have won last year to hadi, but he could have come 2-3 here. Reigning champ still brought the package he is known for, and did look better than last year overall package, to his credit. Just out of respect to the reigning champ, would have phased him out a little slower.. A melted phil heath came in third. A tattered up dorian kept winning years beyond what he should have. 5th place to ramy was dirty imo D:

    Good analysis, I agree. It just seems ridiculous to me that Brandon beat Ramy. No way.
    So annoying that year after year camera is iPhone quality on the biggest show in BB and that there is 0 transperency on the placings.

    As an Iranian not only I am super happy that hadi won, I am also grateful that Mr.olympia provided a fair and non political opportunity and helped hadi to arrive at mr.olympia for the last few years. Great hosting. What made it even better was this years Olympia was very competitive and had lots of suprises

    I really love Nick, I think he has some of the best drive, passion, dedication etc in the business, but I think his overall shape and the (very few) weaknesses he has are going to hurt his chances at an Olympia title in the future. I hate to say that too because he really is incredible, but as long as he’s competing against guys who are also incredible, and have the better shape than him, he’s not going to win I don’t think.
    I really hope he gets the lat spread figured out. I don’t see any improvement in that pose from last year.
    If I remember correctly, his front lat spread at the Chicago pro (his pro debut I think) wasn’t near as bad. Maybe it’s to do with the extra muscle he’s packed on since that time? I don’t know lol I’m far from an expert, just a fan.

    I agree with your take on Nick being third because of his rear and front lat spreads, but it should have been closer between him and Derek, I think Nick had better condition overall especially in the upper body

    • @Tomn8er
      @Tomn8er  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Nick was definitely the driest here in the whole callout overall at the finals, but his weaknesses were so glaring in certain poses. Derek was more solid pose-for-pose and sharper from the rear, but softer from the front.

      @@Tomn8er He can't do anything about his FLS I'm afraid, maybe he can do something about his BLS but from the front his structure, waste line, and big arms kind of counter the pose

      In my opinion his legs looking really shitty from the front too really melted and awkward no sweeps from the side and back they're looking good tho

    Why is Nick distending his stomach so much on his front lat spread? I know its normal when your back is facing the judges in rear lat spread but this is weird to me. Maybe im talking from a point of ignorance but he could probably make his arms the focus of that pose if he sucked it in.

    • @Tomn8er
      @Tomn8er  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You're right to be skeptical. He was probably gassed and just couldn't hold it in but that's no excuse.

    Awesome vid! It would be really helpful if the names reappeared throughout the video, like they do at the start. It really helps a new viewer keep track of who you are talking about. Or even some sort of arrow or something pointing to the certain things you are calling out. i.e. "Half of his back is missing".

    watching the finals was sad and happiness at the same time... The judges picked the right guys this year and great Critique @Tomn8er.. i agree with you.. sampson needs more size and conditioning.. Ramy needs conditioning and bring up his arms... Hadi;s calves suck compared to the rest of his body..arm length throughs off his front double.. Brandon needs conditioning and bigger fuller legs, Derek quads need more sweep...if he did that he could beat Hadi, Nick midsection :(

    Samson is actually only 30 or 32, so relatively young. I think with his great genetics when it comes to structure, muscle bellies and detail, he very well might be future mr. O once he puts a little more size to the back and nails his conditioning. Overall, very happy to see him do well!

  • @mattspencer6154
    @mattspencer6154 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I’m gonna say what I’ve been saying once I saw Nick this year. He needs to start coming in lighter until his muscle maturity is maxed. Once that happens, come in 10lbs lighter and it will improve his frame and waist. Hope someone in his camp or future camp tell him that.
    Edit: just go look at him at his NY pro win. With his added tissue, and coming down in weight. IMO, the Mr O will be absolutely wild every year with Hadi, Derek, and Nick battling every year.
