    Hey Rusty Recovery. I was just thinking. I see a lot of videos and the one thing I always see is that when you are scooping make three automatic holes. Your first is where you would think your coil indicated where your find is. The second scoop to the left of the first and the third to the right of the first. Why because now your scoop has dug a hole wear your coil can enter with out hitting the sides of the hole.
    Also I see you don’t have a Pinpointer which helps immensely. Also if you are hitting just coins my friend taught me to live three paces the the right or left of the shoreline. If your shoulder is facing the surf move three paces towards the sand and follow that line mitt or south(depending where in the world you are at) There are goldnlines, penny ir coin lines, and then trash lines. Go forward and conquer man you can do it and the Nox 800 also picks up gold nuggets. So hit those river beds where you can find bedrock or stones the size of your fist 👊 that’s where you will find gold nuggets. GL And HH

      @RustyRecovery  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      steve Apperley Nothing wrong with the Go find 66 buddy. We all start somewhere. Do some air tests with coins so you learn the numbers. If you start getting false signals just drop the sensitivity a little. Good luck and happy hunting. You can't beat a day on the beach detecting. let me know how you get on. Jason.

    Been thinking of starting this hobby for years, am a bit disabled but can manage any advice on kit, more fields and open land areas than beaches but waterproof? Maybe old battle sites that are allowed, that sort of thing?

    • @RustyRecovery
      @RustyRecovery  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would still personally go with a multi frequency Minelab detector. The Equinox is excellent and quite light in weight. It’s fully waterproof. You could also look at the Vanquish range. The coils are waterproof but the controller is not. Good luck.

    • @RustyRecovery
      @RustyRecovery  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Duane Stephens Thanks for the kind comments mate. I'm not sure if your question is about the Equinox or GoPro battery so I'll try and answer both. I use the standard Equinox charging lead but plugged into a IPad charger. It takes between 1 and 3 hrs to charge depending on how the battery level is. I have detected for over 8 hrs and have never had the battery level fall below 50%. So pretty good. The Gopro. I use a Hero 3 and I switch the go pro on for every signal. I like to show honest live digs. The batteries take about 2 hrs to charge and I generally use 2 batteries for every video I produce. I hope that helps. Jason.

    What I would give to have easy access to a beach like that! I've just taken delivery of a sandscoop but need to get a decent handle for it. Do you have any tips? Thanks for the video, really well shot with lots of great information.

    • @RustyRecovery
      @RustyRecovery  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      cbfliz Hi buddy. Thank you for the kind comment. It means a lot. I use a cut down marine boat hook for my handle. I did want a carbon fibre one but couldn't find a supplier in the UK and US suppliers don't ship due to length issues. My boat hook has been good for over two years now. Don't use a standard wooden broom handle. It won't last two minutes. Good luck. Jason.

    • @cbfliz
      @cbfliz 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rusty Recovery Ah ok, will have to start googling boat hooks. Thanks for that. I'm looking forward to getting out with the scoop soon. If it helps me find more coins I may be able to start saving for an Equinox!

    Elliott

    • @RustyRecovery
      @RustyRecovery  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      stinkyhound I've never used the 600. However, I will say this. The multi IQ is the same on beach mode for 800 and 600. The 800 comes with wireless headphones. They're not waterproof. The 800 has more adjustments to iron bias and recovery. It has gold mode. Are you gold prospecting ? I think the 600 will work as well as the 800. You need to learn your detector. I was actually going to get a 600 but luckily a 800 became available. GL Jason.

    • @RustyRecovery
      @RustyRecovery  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Phil, I have the Excal on the Anderson shaft and although its much heavier than the Nox is much better balanced and I find I can swing it all day. The Nox does fatigue your arm. Also, because the excal is heavier its much easier to swing in the water and surf. If you do mainly water detecting there is nothing better then the excal. I like the VDI on the Nox and it is very sensitive to small items plus it doesn't null out over iron when a non ferrous target is next to the iron if you have it set up correctly. Both great machines. Both have their plus and minus points. Thanks for watching.

      hey Rusty Recovery i really appreciate those thoughts and comments mate. Thanks. im figuring both units is the go whilst the hobby is still fresh for me. heh heh. i hear what you're saying about the pros n cons for each. i use the waist strap on the excal and enjoy the simplicity of the excal.. turn the dial on and go! and yet the nox is too sparkly though for me to pass up without giving it a try too. was saving for a PI, but i'd never use one as beaches are a plenty around here. i shall see which unit earns its keep the most :) happy hunting

    • @RustyRecovery
      @RustyRecovery  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Chris, yes they don't take long to rust over. I think one of the metals is a plated alloy, usually has steel in which eventually rusts. Jason

    • @Crustyfur
      @Crustyfur 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do find the sands they sit in can effect how quickly they discolour? I detected on farmland many years ago, so about the coins I found that were 'modern' were wartime pennies, they still looked pretty good after 60 years in the dirt. How long have we had the new £1? matter of months?

    • @RustyRecovery
      @RustyRecovery  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Definitely. Some beaches they come out rusty, others bright green. If you get a beach which has mud or clay beneath it most objects come out in great condition as the mud is anaerobic and protects the coins.
