    Short, sweet, and to the point! One of the best tutorials I have yet to see. I bought my Equinox 800 on January 14th and have yet to take it out as the ground is frozen solid here in Southeast Idaho. In the meantime, I'm going to learn all I can from videos like yours.

      You’re going to really like it. I’m not far from you and it’s already been a long, cold winter! I use Field mode 1 the most, especially on older properties. If you check out my Finding gold at a pioneer home video, you’ll see just how amazing the Nox can be. That property was detected before I got permission and I hit it several times with a Garrett Gold. It was unbelievable how much the Nox turned up!

    I have had one for a year. All I have done is turn on and go and kicked butt. There is a heavy duty 30 amp power cord laying across an iron manhole cover. My old beloved detector would give me an O L reading. Overload. This one, the 800, would give me the iron grunt, beep and grunt perfectly as I swept fast across. Perfectly separated signal. Really fast recovery means fewer masked targets.

    Thanks for the video I just got mine today. I already found a wheat in my yard. However, I've been a treasure hunter for 17 years. This yard has been done 100's of times by 3 machines. A Whites MXT, a Garette At Pro, and a Fisher. I was excited to find a wheat that the older machines missed. Every machine will usually find something different and open those old sites up again. Thanks for sharing, happy hunting!

    I have to Mark this video as a refresher, I purchased my 800 a little over a year ago and it was getting pretty good with it in Arizona, I purchased a home in northern Michigan no more desert vacations for a while , the ground is frozen many months out of the year, we had a warm spell a few weeks ago I decided to try my luck in my new yard, the house was built in 1914 probably never been detected before.I forgot everything how to ground level it etc 😢 it's not as Intuitive on the screen as you would think when your memory is not so great anymore. thanks for explaining it again I'll be watching if I forget when the ground thaws out again in a few months. It was still frozen last week it gets really cold when you live a few miles from Lake Superior 😊 🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶
    The Town was known for Iron and copper mining not sure if that will make it harder to detect?

Hopefully you get some nice weather and can get out soon.

    Nice! Just moved to Orlando Florida from Herriman Utah a couple years ago. I THOUGHT I recognized those mountains! :)
    What tips do you have for detecting areas with a lot of vegetation? I found some old maps from late 1800’s and overlayed new maps. Found some public parks here where metal detecting is allowed and I’m 97% sure I found an area where there were buildings and stuff in 1885. But it’s WAY over grown. Not nice maintained Kentucky blue grass to swing over.

    • @mdutah-insearchofmormongold
      @mdutah-insearchofmormongold  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thick vegetation can be tough to detect in. Ideally, you want to be close to the surface. If you have a great spot with a lot of potential, I would seriously consider taking a weed eater and clearing it out some.

      No problem. Any name brand pinpointer will work. There’s not that much difference between them. I’ve do like the Minelab. As far as the readings on the Nox, they indicate different types of metals. You’ll see in my video some possibilities. Of course, junk metal can sometimes give you similar readings. For example, rings and pull-tabs.

    • @mdutah-insearchofmormongold

      There are many variables as far as depth detection. The composition of the soil, the size of the object, and the settings on your machine. I've hit on larger iron objects 12"-18" deep. For coins and small relics, 6-10" is the average, but I've found a few with the Nox at about 12'.

    I bought the 800 and then the 900 came out a week later. In terms of performance do you think they are the same machine? If all the extra money is just for the light, carbon fibre sharf and for the shaft shortener bit and also the 6" coil then I don't think it will really matter or effect me. Another thing, is the 11" coil the stock one fine for park and beach? Thanks for the guide mate

    • @mdutah-insearchofmormongold
      @mdutah-insearchofmormongold  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve been wondering the same thing! The 800 is a great machine. How much better could the 900 or Manticore be? As far as coils, the 11” should be good for parks unless there is a ton of trash. In that case, you may want to switch to a smaller coil for more precise detecting. The advantage to the bigger coils is being able to cover more ground. There are no beaches here so I can’t offer much advice them.

    • @Brandanmayhew
      @Brandanmayhew ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mdutah-insearchofmormongold but if you go the smaller coil you could be walking over rings etc... stuff that. The bigger the better when it comes to coils😂. But yeah, I'm seeing people claim that the 900 is like a supercharged on steroids version of the 800 and has a faster processor but I mean that's the perfect sales pitch for a new machine and it fits in the advertisement of it perfectly. I honestly think they are the same and people are just getting confused with the volume going that but louder on the 900. If the 900 had better technology than the 800 then in theory it means the new 700 would out perform the 800 which means they going backwards. I really don't see there being any performance difference from the 600 to 900 just cosmetis and gold mode

      @@mdutah-insearchofmormongoldof you just spent $1700 on a new machine and somebody told you it had tweaked processor you would most likely believe it and pass that info on when telling anybody about it. Whether it's actually true or not or even if they've tested it or not lol. Just makes the consumer feel better about what they've just bought
