Mate this is probably the best tute vid for these I've seen! The coaching points and the slomo and multiple camera angles are spot on! Given your super seat grab game, I'd love to see you do an OG FMX tricks series: seat grabs, indians, nacs, cans etc!
...hey speaking of which: why dont you see flip heel clickers in mtb? Or heel clickers in general for that matter? Like I understand not doing them in comps, but you like NEVER see them?!
@@jaykaye3482 I guess the weight of the motorbike counteracts the pretty rapid forward motion hip thrust which would result in you eating some dirt when on a bicycle. Not 100% on this tho. Bet it's doable but just hella weird to do
I think I got the last piece of the puzzle to do perfect whips: to not brake. I usually brake when I jump, and also do that on whips. The rest of the steps I can get them pretty well, and I can get almost 90º whips, but the landing is usually hard. Maybe it is because of using the brake, which kinda makes sense the way you explained it. This is the first tutorial that talks about it, so I will try that. Hopefully it works.
Tried my first table in 1987. Not sure I've ever really gotten a decent clicked table! I learned turndowns, 360s, tailwhips, and on and on but I never got the hang of tables.
This is amazing, great idea on breaking down some jumping technique which is perfect now I am getting back into it! I would love to learn how to hit shark fin style jumps as for whatever reason the angle just puts me off so any tips etc. you can do for that style of jump would be sick!
3:58 & 4:49 I think Sam meant to say gyroscopic* force, just to calm the other physics nerds that might stumble upon this :) cheers and thx for the great tutorial, especially for 3:49 where you show that you lean forwards/towards the way you are flying (aka the side of the bike) to support bringing back the whip. Ive always wondered wether that is part of bringing it back but that relative movement to the bike is hard to spot in the air, but was easy to spot on the ground, and even though you did not directly speak about it, your body intuitively showed it off! Amazing!
We got two of these for our daughters th-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L the same size for age 6 and 9. It works very well for both girls. Gears were very easy for them to learn. Changing gears up takes some hand strength and is a bit hard, but they are learning. They did not come with water bottle holders- we actually got confused and thought the Derailler Guard was the bottle holder!! Regardless of these details, the bikes are fantastic- even our six year old who only just learned to ride bikes caught on within an hour of practice and loves it. Lightweight and easy for them to handle. All the parts are in excellent condition and the bikes are easy to assemble and very well packaged. Great choice for kids!
@@SamReynolds26 Cheers mate, good to know, I pumped mine up from 25 to 45 last time I did some jumps, was amazed by the difference.. cleared everything for once ha..
Don't know if it's just me but I find the music in the background when your talking Sam, unpleasing to my ear and distracting. Your voice is nice enough on its own ;)

THANKS!
Keep up the videos
Can we get a how to 360 for Larry ,from Woburn, Sam!
Can you drop a video showing how that lip is built?
cheers
There is one man! Look back earlier in the year
thanks sam, typically brilliant explanations as usual, i think the run out berm from the mulch jump needs wall ride?
That’s a cool idea! I’ve always wanted to make a 1/4 there too!
“I’ll just do a few now”…Sam sticks left grip in back jeans pocket in the air.
Whenever I see the turn down scrub/whip thingamajig I think Bernard Kerr.
He is very good at them!
💥💥💥
I’ve been stuck on whips for a while. I’m carving really hard up the takeoff but the bike won’t get sideways for me
Kann ich auch
Question: have you ever cracked any joints while doing a whip?
Don’t think so 🤔
Great video Sam, Just wondering how much air you put in your trail/DH bike tyres when you hit big jumps, cheers
Depends, darkfest I go 40psi and just garden probably 35-40 will do!

yeeeeeeeeee
today after riding a year im starting to move the bike in the air turning the handle bars
Mad
Is it the same for BMX?
I guess so, I’m not an expert but It’s definitely similar!
First
Im afraid of bending my rim when trying to Whip.
you need some better rims then!
do you miss polygon bikes ....

Dude the squares pace adverts are well annoying I literally stopped watching.
