  • There's osu on scratch. Yes, you heard that right. That kids website that teaches children simple programming with blocks. People have been trying to make osu on it. There's also other stuff like osu mania, taiko no tatsujin, BMS (hell, they made lunatic rave 2 in this??) and... of course... robeats and friday night funkin...
    Let's play them! Also known as tokaku saying 'wow' and 'impressive' for 13 minutes straight.

    The game you played at 4:30 is actually a remix of my original project "osu! Mania V3". I'm glad you liked it because its not easy to make such a fully fledged game on Scratch and I put so many hours into making it.

      @@RedNova. when I personally briefly tried to make a fnf clone in Scratch i charted by having multiple lists each for a different property of a note and each item of each list being the value of that property for that respective note

      @@RedNova. it wasn’t that terrible, basically I had like 1 list for if a note is going on the ai player or the player player’s side, 1 list for which direction the note is, 1 list for the timing of the note, and 1 list for the hold length of the note. When the first note comes for example, the game would read the first item from each list and that would determine the note’s properties.

    I've been using Scratch for almost 5 years and parallax is probably one of the easiest things to do.
    The positions are the mouse positions times -1 and divided by a large number.

    Just gonna quickly mention that not all of these scratch projects are this good, there are millions of lower quality games (for example, look up Guitar Hero games on Scratch). You got really lucky though!
    One thing I'm gonna quickly mention is how the parallax made: background sprites take the X and Y position of the cursor, divide it by a certain value, and put that in a "forever" loop.

    If you plan on playing other scratch rhythm games again, I recommend you running those on forkphorus, as you can set the framerate up to 60hz

    Scratch runs on Javascript but uses drag-and-drop blocks instead of typing code, so that's where the limitations come from. Also it's on a browser.

    I'm currently doing graphics for a visual novel that I'm writing, programming, voice acting (with help from other users), and writing music for. It takes a lot of time and often Scratch is the only kind of platform that we have to post on.

    I remember making mania for my middle school computer project. I never made it public but I remember having to go to our computer lab after class hours and going home at 6 pm just to finish it. It was a month long thing so I had to bring my own laptop so I can finish it last minute. The most difficult part is definitely making the controls responsive. I am blown away by all of these I can't imagine how much effort was placed into it

    5:01 As a fellow scratcher, you can use variables (specifically slider variables) to change the number of the variable, if you do “change Y by “[“ “ -(VARIABLE)]” you can change the scroll speed

    to make scratch run at 60FPS (however that will make most of the things run twice as fast) there is a setting in a Scratch Addon that you can add to your browser

    9:05 Another set of Taiko Scratch games you should play are the Nijiro Version recreations, they are pretty much 1 to 1 from scoring system, to Puncichara, to music, heck! In the Ka release they remade the transition to Ura Oni *And you can get a Donderful Combo and the rank* only downside is that certain versions are broken and some force you to restart the project after beating a song, plus you cant restart or quit a song

    If you turn on Turbo mode (left shift + green flag) you should run smoother :)

    basically scratch is very easy to use, but the good stuff only comes if a person tries a little lul, but the great stuff is hard to do because of it having some very unusual limits
