If you started reacting to Battle Beast for the first time... wait till you hear Beast In Black, Yannis has a good singing voice. So good that you'd like to see him duet with Noora from Battle Beast because they share the same 80's Retro Vibe from their songs. In fact Yannis did a cover of Nightwish's "Ghost Love Score". Yes a male vocalist did a cover of a song that was originally sung by Tarja and Floor blew us away with her performance. You have to be curious to hear his version, but it's best to see his band 'Beast In Black' first with the song "Blind and Frozen".
If you like this you might also like Smackbound (female fronted band also from Finland). Battle Beast singer Noora is collaborating with Netta, the singer from Smackbound. They formed a band called Laurenne/Louhimo and released their first album a couple of weeks ago. So please check out them too.
Never heard of them until now. Solid. There is almost a Breaking Benjamin undertone as found in some of their songs. If you follow the lyrics though the skin peeling, while unpleasant, shows the rebirth and reclaiming of one beaten down so hard. It fits the lyrics of reaching up and reclaiming your inner Eden.
This singer is actually Noora Louhimo,she is am amazing vocalist and the second singer of the band, (Nitte was only on the first album) this song doesn't even scratch the surface try Black Ninja is an amazing one to check out You can also check her out in the band HEART HEALER the metal opera is the album title theres a bunch of good songs on as well and consist of 6 vocalist each with their own unique sound and style She does amazing with ballads as well you can see that in the HAMMERFALL song "Second to None" She also has recently started her own side project called NOORA LOUHIMO EXPERIENCE she is outstanding in that as well
They have a song called BRINGER OF PAIN and her vocal style in that song will blow your mind. The singing style here is her soft ability but she can sing in a distorted way actually.
Battle Beast showed up on my Spotify one day, and I almost just skipped it. I was really glad when I decided to give them a chance though. There is something about these Scandinavian metal bands that really kick ass.
Not many singers can beat Noora. She's amazing. Very powerful too. I saw her on youtube sing a Janis Joplin cover live. That was something :) I have follow Battle Beast since 2010. They won a price on Wacken 2010 for the best newcomber. Nitte valo was the singer that time and she's very good too. Check also up Beast In Black with Yannis on vocals. He beat the most male singers. Even besides the rasp, the song didn't have much range for her vocally, i was expecting at least a little high belting (i'm looking at you, Black Ninja)

EPICA is great too, the lead singer Simone is friends with Nightwish's Floor too. E.g. Floor and Simone singing "Stabat mater dolorora" or Simone singing "Rivers" from their latest album and "Cry for the moon" are epic 🤗

going through your list of vids i saw this band and thought with a name like that they have to be good..and i was right gonna check to see if her live voice is as good as her studio
After seeing some of the vague comments about this not being necessarily a full scope of Noora's vocals, I feel like I should explain. So Noora is mostly known for singing with alot of rasp and being able to hit some super high notes in that style, she has been compared to vocalists like Ronnie James Dio (Dio) and Rob Halford (Judas Priest). The first two albums after she joined the band the vast majority of her singing was done this way. After the original lead guitarist and songwriter left and the rest of the band had more control over how songs were put together, she started to experiment more with softer vocals while still utilizing rasp where it makes sense. The band started to focus more on variety in their sound, including adding some more symphonic elements to the music where there previously were none. So basically that is what they are alluding to.
If you want a perfect example of this in a live setting, I highly recommend their performance of "Straight to the Heart" from the Tuska Utopia event (post covid, so no audience) you don't have to react to it if you're busy, but if you have about 5 minutes to spare off camera, I highly recommend checking it out and I would love to hear what you think.

Noora's voice is amazing, you should check out her cover of Janis Joplin's Piece of My Heart, no body can sing it like JJ, but Noora really comes close (IMO)
I looked through all of your past reactions and was really amazed that you haven't reacted to 10 year old Amira, singing O Babbino Caro with Andre Rieu Orchestra.
I know they intentionally changed the whole style of their music, but this song is hiding Noora's true skills of singing. There are amazing songs like 'Black ninja' and W.A.S.P cover 'Noora Louhimo - Wild child' or Scorpions cover 'Noora Louhimo - Still loving you' or Guns & Roses cover 'Noora Louhimo - Sweet Child O' Mine'. Those will give you better idea how good she really is! She can sing like Dio and those songs I mentioned can be found from youtube. Also I really like the older material from this band, since it has more beast & balss. Like 'Far Far away', 'I Want the World... And Everything in It' and' and 'Speed and Danger'.

I’ve said this before on a different reaction channel, but if I had to describe her voice, it’s a metal version of Bonnie Tyler, specifically in Holding Out For A Hero. I mean that in a positive way, of course. It’s just the best way I could describe her vocals in the stuff I’ve heard. Haven’t heard a lot of their music, though, so there’s probably a better comparison I could come up with, after doing so.
I think the peeling was symbolic of deciding not to hide behind your scars any more. Often poetry and music sends the message of embracing your scars, which is a good message too but in this case the idea was that sometimes we let our pain and trauma define who we are. This can lead to self-sabotage. In this song the story is about someone “peeling away” their scars and coming out like new. They know what they’ve been through and it was real but they do not let it define them. I agree the imagery is gross 🤢 but I think if you look beyond it it is meaningful!

The song was powerful and well done. The imagery was a bit on the Ewww side 😱 Reaction great and neatly amplified by the clever editing,. BTW 😱 is from the much employed Edvard Munch Expressionist painting Skrik.
getting Annette Olzon vibes from her voice. the cutaways to the person covered in scars who starts peeling off their skin is just, Why? really catchy song. great musicians. nice guitar solo. great singer. potentially a snake shedding its old skin metaphor possibly? didn't hint at it in any way in the song, but, it may be a recurring theme in their music. would have to hear more of them to form an opinion.
The instrumentals are a lot like Dragon Force in that I can here a dueling lead guitar in this song. Her voice is amazing and I was surprised that we didnt get a "SHOOKETH" when the harmonies came in because they were amaze ballz. Only criticism I have is the balance. The vocals seemed a little overpowered by the instruments to me.
Meh.....this album is ok. Their older albums were unbelievably epic though. You're listening to a newer version of the bad after founding guitarist Anton left to form another band called "Beast In Black". And holy cow, you gotta react to them at some point as well because that band is off the chain! But yeah check out older Battle Beast if you wanna see how powerful Noora's vocals can be!
I'm not too squeamish about the whole peeling off the skin thing and I can kinda see the metaphor they might be going for with shedding old pain and moving forward in life, but yeah - it's a bit weird and hardly pleasant-looking.

Often poetry and music sends the message of embracing your scars, which is a good message too but in this case the idea was that sometimes we let our pain and trauma define who we are. This can lead to self-sabotage. In this song the story is about someone “peeling away” their scars and coming out like new. They know what they’ve been through and it was real but they do not let it define them. I agree the imagery is gross 🤢 but I think if you look beyond it it is meaningful!

getting Annette Olzon vibes from her voice. the cutaways to the person covered in scars who starts peeling off their skin is just, Why? really catchy song. great musicians. nice guitar solo. great singer. potentially a snake shedding its old skin metaphor possibly? didn't hint at it in any way in the song, but, it may be a recurring theme in their music. would have to hear more of them to form an opinion.

The instrumentals are a lot like Dragon Force in that I can here a dueling lead guitar in this song. Her voice is amazing and I was surprised that we didnt get a "SHOOKETH" when the harmonies came in because they were amaze ballz. Only criticism I have is the balance. The vocals seemed a little overpowered by the instruments to me.

Meh.....this album is ok. Their older albums were unbelievably epic though. You're listening to a newer version of the bad after founding guitarist Anton left to form another band called "Beast In Black". And holy cow, you gotta react to them at some point as well because that band is off the chain! But yeah check out older Battle Beast if you wanna see how powerful Noora's vocals can be!

I'm not too squeamish about the whole peeling off the skin thing and I can kinda see the metaphor they might be going for with shedding old pain and moving forward in life, but yeah - it's a bit weird and hardly pleasant-looking.
