What a way to start this video!! TOTK is my favourite game of all time! After all the gaming since the late 80s and at 43 years of age, with all the memories and nostalgia created throughout the years I'm more than fascinated to be able to say this for a game, today. What a time to be a gamer!!
It’s amazing how many people who think of themselves as gamers have no idea just how many 10/10 games there are on the Switch. And they also don’t realise just how many games there are. The Switch has been a little system that has packed in a massive punch.
You’re so real for what you said about Engage I couldn’t agree more man, I do like Three Houses but Engage really highlights what makes Fire Emblem unique and I loved it
I was having medical issues when Tears of the Kingdom came out... I put 200 hours in in a little over a week... Made me forget all my pain... It's top 10 all time for me now...
Metroid: Dread is my favorite Switch game, I really think so. I remember when I first started the game, the very first thing that struck me was just how responsive, quick, and tight the controls were. In fact, for me, it's almost ruined my ability to play other games! It's just so much FUN to play as Samus, and yes, the game is very hard! But the controls made the game FUN, and had me continue to play until I conquered the game. I gotta play this game again, it's just that good!
The nineties look of Astral Chain... well the character designer is Masakazu Katsura, a manga artist that became very famous in the 90s with his debut manga "Video Girl Ai" so it probably contributed to the general look and feel of the game.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is 10/10 for sure! Love the story, characters, combat, exploration, side quests. 1 & 2 are good as well but 3 is special to me. Also the end of chapter 5 and beginning of chapter 6, need I say more?
I had the same reaction to Tears of the Kingdom. I wasn't expecting it to capture my imagination and make me feel so many emotions when I started playing it. Other games I'd add to the list that I played in the last two years would be Octopath Traveller 2 and Xenoblade 3! Both great JRPG!

I think my definitive favorite game on Switch is Monster Hunter Rise. Sadly, I bounced off Metroid Prime. I was so hyped when they dropped it. I picked it up immediately. I loved it back on the GC and I’m not a collector so it’d been over a decade since I’d played. With all do respect, it didn’t strike me as exploration in 2023 like it did back in the day. It felt like getting lost in an office building. Loved Metroid Dread though.
Dragon Quest Builders 2 was a definite 10/10 game for me. It was the first one to really make me fall in love with my Switch. I'll never forget that game.
Dragon Quest XI:S made me a Dragon Quest fan and brought me out of my gaming slump with a newborn - now it’s one of my favourite series of all time and 11 is my favourite one! Such a special game and hands down 10/10! Rab alone makes the game a winner!
Totally agree with you on fire emblem engage. I wanted the classic, fluid, almost pure gameplay feel that games like awakening gave me, and this game just delivered
I finished Botw and wooped ganons a**. But I didn't know what to think of it. It was so different and I was full of impressions. Now, later on, I see it's a fantastic game that I'm gonna remember for a long time. 😊 I also got 99% on metroid prime on the Gamecube and it's a fantastic game. I'm getting into tears of the kingdom soon. But today I bought Mario 3d world and bowsers fury just 2h before i turned this video on. 😂 I hope I'm in for a fun gaming session
Coincidentally I owned all of these and absolutely agree with your points. It just feels nice to hear praises for all those games again. But I just simply can't praise Astral Chain enough. Truly a marvel on every single front and something that I really want to become its own franchise someday.
Oh god! FE Engage was *the game* that I used to introduce my partner to Fire emblem and now they’re playing through three houses. Squee! AND HOLY HELL YES - dragon quest 11 - what an AMAZING game. Great list, thanks.
Astral Chain is totally a 10/10 game, I super love it! The Final Boss, oh man, that fight is a masterpiece, it is difficult and so so cool! Incredible man.
Monster Hunter Rise/Sunbreak for Switch is SSS-tier. I truly hope Capcom and Bandai incorporate cross-play in their future titles. That's the main thing holding their online games back
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana and Cat Quest 2. If you want a 2-player game to play with your family or friends get Cat Quest 2. Its really good, probably the most fun me and my gf have had playing a videogame together.
I assumed DQ11 was in your last switch vid. So nice for the love. It is amazing. Next year I am replaying them (and some for first time) starting with 4
Strongly agree with most of the games you mentioned. Tears is the best game I ever played, and I started playing games in 1982. I played it untl Sea of Stars came out. lTo me, 2D Metroid is true Metroid. I 98%'ed Dread. Fire Emblem Engage was my first FE I really played. I bounced off Three Houses because of the school stuff. I played Engage until TotK came out. I love DQXIS.
I have many 10/10 games. But one I must give a shout out for is Master Detective Archivies: Rain Code. I bought this game with knowning nothing about it. In short, it is a detective game with crazy plot, characters, and twists. Brilliant puzzles to figure out that you have to remember very minor lines from the story to beat, and overall it is just pure fun!
Ninja warriors has a special place in my heart. Back when I was a teenager, I could afford this game for 20 bucks, but never picked it up on the SNES, because I waited too long thinking I might get it later. Then the day came to pick the game,it was already gone. So i regretted for 2 decades to play this game until it finally came out on the switch. Now i still haven't played it yet, because I think the game is too special for me to be openened from its seal. 😅
I like how you didn't go with everyone's favorite. As I've seen in others Top lists. I'm a new switch owner so at least 8 or 9 of these will be in my library. You earned yourself a sub sir. Thanks for the video
The Switch has so many amazing games that it’s hard to make a definitive list games like Super Mario Odyssey Trials of Mana Octopath Traveler 1 and 2 all the Falcom releases and the capcom titles that have released so far .😊
10/10 experiences for the switch: Metroid Dread, Metroid Prime, Astral Chain, Pikmin 4, Bayonetta 2, Mario Odyssey, Mario 3D World, Blasphemous 1 & 2, Tears of the Kingdom,
I absolutely loathed Dread, for all the reasons I agree with you on Prime, that's what I hate about Dread. There is hardly any exploration! Getting lost or figuring how where to use a new power! It played more like a corridor white knuckle action game. Almost a boss gauntlet if you will. You're hitting a new boss or mini boss about every 30 minutes. Each time you beat a boss and get a new power... an elevator magically appears and puts you right where you need to use that power to progress. if you're looking for a high octane white knuckle boss rush where you are expected to learn tight patterns w/ micro seconds of tolerance, well Dread is for you. I finished it, but I didn't think it "felt" like a Metroid game in any way. I know it was a big hit and I'm in the minority here, but it's just how I felt about it. EDIT: Great pick with Astral Chain. I fucking love that game. When the character was training "super hard" to impress the girl who wears the bear costume... as it lays empty in the chair made me just laugh and grin from ear to ear. It's so fun. DOUBLE EDIT: AND the Ninja Warriors! I played that game though like 4 times. Love the Ninja Warriors. They have a vinyl record released for the original arcade OST. It's awesome.
Astral Chain rocks, I wish it would come out on PS5 or XBSX. I can just imagine those crisp graphics and 60FPS. It's still great on Switch but it would be nice on a more powerful system.
Into the Breach was a game I was blown away by - not a switch exclusive but I played it on there. Perfect turn based strategy game honestly, easy 10/10 for me. Metroid Dread also might even be my single favorite game on switch, it’s just that good. I didn’t expect to be so enamored with a 2D metroid when my previous forays into prior games were unsuccessful, but Dread really nailed it in every regard for me.
Love how positive and happy you always are about games.

Glad for your pick for Astral Chain. In terms of combat, it was the best action game I’ve ever played.
I'm also loving the switch physical games, they're absolutely mind blowing with the art and detail they go into them!
Same I’m going to try to only have physical copies
Sadly, I bounced off Metroid Prime. I was so hyped when they dropped it. I picked it up immediately. I loved it back on the GC and I’m not a collector so it’d been over a decade since I’d played. With all do respect, it didn’t strike me as exploration in 2023 like it did back in the day. It felt like getting lost in an office building.
Loved Metroid Dread though.
Hear hear
Happy to see Astral Chain on the list. Would love to see a sequel or port so more people can enjoy
Dragon Quest Builders 2 was a definite 10/10 game for me. It was the first one to really make me fall in love with my Switch. I'll never forget that game.
I love that you included Astral Chain. It's one of the best Switch exclusives. Top game for me.
I’m currently addicted to Dragon Quest 11 because of this channel. Perfect game!
I'm loving the nintendo switch! One of my fave consoles of all time
Astral chain is so good. Still think about it pretty often. DQ11;is one of the best jrpg's I have played too. Over 80 hours in that game. Loved it.
TMNT Shredders Revenge. 10/10
Astral Chain is the best game on Switch, in my opinion. Absolutely love it!
Great video! Cruis’N Blast is 10/10 all day 💫🏆
I finished Botw and wooped ganons a**.
Super Mario Odyssey is also a 10...great video. Love the Kirby games too😅
Coincidentally I owned all of these and absolutely agree with your points. It just feels nice to hear praises for all those games again.
But I just simply can't praise Astral Chain enough. Truly a marvel on every single front and something that I really want to become its own franchise someday.
I loved astral chain.
I've been waiting for someone to make a video that mirrors what I think. Completely agree.
A true man of culture mentioning DQ and I really enjoyed Engage's gameplay so much so that I didn't care as much of three houses school aspect.
The way you gush about Zelda TOTK is pretty much exactly how I feel about Ghost of Tsushima.
Oh god! FE Engage was *the game* that I used to introduce my partner to Fire emblem and now they’re playing through three houses. Squee! AND HOLY HELL YES - dragon quest 11 - what an AMAZING game. Great list, thanks.
Man I love watching your videos! Your love and charisma are freakin addictive!!!!!
Same for Tears of the Kingdom, didn't expect to feel so much with that one.
Truly something special, as well as the entire Xenoblade series.
That's the main thing holding their online games back
I think you forgot about octopath 2 😊. 10/10 for me this year.
Honestly I loved Octo 2 but stopped playing it when TOTK came out I really need to complete it one day I love the little short stories in it
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana and Cat Quest 2.
If you want a 2-player game to play with your family or friends get Cat Quest 2. Its really good, probably the most fun me and my gf have had playing a videogame together.
Wife and I liked Cat Quest 2 a lot. Playing Trinity Trigger together now. Cat Quest 3 next year!
I also like Toads Treasure Tracker so much. It is really underrated but it's a 10 out of 10.
I love when u talk about games and story's of ur pass gaming experiences
I like how you didn't go with everyone's favorite. As I've seen in others Top lists.
I'm a new switch owner so at least 8 or 9 of these will be in my library. You earned yourself a sub sir. Thanks for the video
DQXI is soooo good on the Switch. I love that game so much. Made me a DQ fan.
The Switch has so many amazing games that it’s hard to make a definitive list games like Super Mario Odyssey Trials of Mana Octopath Traveler 1 and 2 all the Falcom releases and the capcom titles that have released so far .😊
First metroid i played was dread second was prime remastered. I became an instant metroid fan, 10/10
Also yessss to the FE Engage praise!! I feel like it’s underrated compared to Three Houses. For me Engage is a 10/10 too
Havent touched ToTK in a while, think you just convinced me to boot it up again.
After watching this vid I think I’ll try out astral chain
10/10 experiences for the switch:
Metroid Dread, Metroid Prime, Astral Chain, Pikmin 4, Bayonetta 2, Mario Odyssey, Mario 3D World, Blasphemous 1 & 2, Tears of the Kingdom,
My wife has never heard me swear as much as when I was playing Metroid Dread. Beating the game was incredibly satisfying
Always love your videos and overall passion!
Metroid Dread is such a fantastic experience. Glad to see it on this list. Difficult for sure but fair in its difficulty.
Dread knocked me out of my socks ❤
Into the Breach was a game I was blown away by - not a switch exclusive but I played it on there. Perfect turn based strategy game honestly, easy 10/10 for me. Metroid Dread also might even be my single favorite game on switch, it’s just that good. I didn’t expect to be so enamored with a 2D metroid when my previous forays into prior games were unsuccessful, but Dread really nailed it in every regard for me.
I love Astral chain!! Especially the sound track. Dark Hero and The Answer are amazing tracks bro.
Thanks for sharing 10/10 games with us. The Switch Rocks!
You're one of my favorite TH-camrs, please do more videos with Kim and Rob. ❤
Nintendo switch has one of the best game libraries of all time
