Astro’s Playroom was a 10/10 demonstration of the haptic feedback in action - still the best use of the PS5 controller functionality imo. I loved every second of it.
Cannot wait for the fully fledged game coming soon.

Something I love about Ghost of Tsushima was the quiet moments like creating haikus. That was such a great element to have in a game like this
100% this. It didn't feel like busy work, it actually added to the world and felt important.
Agree. It's the only big game I've bothered to platinum and explore the entire map because I truly wanted to.
It is soooo good.
The only thing I feel could be more fun is more enemies in the open world.

I like many people watching this video have played alot of video games. Ghosts is def on my top 10 list of all time.
I know it was well received, but it deserved more. I have a hard time sticking with long games. I really didn't want it to end.

I still to this day haven't had an experience like i've had with Returnal. The perfect combination of fluid gameplay, challenge, music, graphics, variety, story and immersion. I still get chills thinking about the first time it rained and I could feel it on the controller. I was sooo immersed.
The only thing that killed it for me was its a rouge like game. The whole espect of progression and losing everything sucks. Also having levels with everything being randomized killed it for me. I still enjoyed up to the credits but just hated that part i mentioned
@@Rolly_951 I hear you. Worth remembering though that shortcuts open that make restarts take less time. There's lots of things that you carry with you on death it's not a complete wipe. For me personally, it's the randomization that makes it more enjoyable. The randomization helps keep restarts feeling engaging because you're making progress, but you're not having to fight the same layout etc over and over. I completely understand though that the games popularity was largely prevented by the fact a lot of people don't like the aspect of losing a lot of progress that roguelite/likes have. But to be fair, that didn't stop Hades from being extremely popular.
@@Rolly_951 the enjoyment of just playing it is all I need, the game starts getting easier as you keep dying so it kinda makes things a bit more tolerable eventually.
Rerturnal is a masterpiece, that is truely a 10/10 game. I normally don't like roguelikes but Returnal is special, it's my second ever roguelike after playing Hades.

Demons Souls still blows me away. Its special for me. I couldnt beleive the graphics at that time

Demons souls graphics are amazing but the game is pretty ass imo, the worst bosses of all souls lame world and meh combat
Returnal is probably the biggest surprise hit for me, 10/10 for sure!!! It implemented the adaptive triggers & haptic feedback elements of the controller perfectly, was ruthlessly challenging but a very rewarding experience.

Man, I love Armored Core 6. It was my top game from last year. I still jump in once in awhile to replay a mission or 2.
playing legend of dragoon. when u can sit and enjoy a chill jrpg and like have youtube on and ur enjoying a game sooo much while not being TOOO immersed like with crazy graphical games. and u can just go slow and enjoy with a coffee.. soemthing about this channel has amplified that type of gaming xp for me. thanks for that. keep making vids !

Lost Judgement was a huge improvement on the first Judgement 10/10, also Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth 10/10 I'm somewhat of a Like A Dragon fanatic and I think that Infinite Wealth may just be my favourite game of all time now
Idk I loved Judgment and didn't like 80% of lost judgment. Just didn't care about the story or side stories in the slightest.
@@jdrahonovsky the thing that dragged the first Judgement down for me was there's way too many forced boring side missions, they should be optional and Lost Judgement toned that down a LOT and i found the school stories really fun anyway so i enjoyed doing them
@@jdrahonovskythe story is boring until chapter 3 but it turns out to be pretty good, it's just hard to top Judgment because it's the best story in the franchise

Such a good game, I was addicted on this much like I was on then original ff7 in 90s and spent a lot of time on this
Baldur's Gate 3, Elden Ring, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth are my 10/10s for the PS5 ❤️

Aw man so many! Elden Ring, Ragnorak GOW, Returnal, Octopath 2, FF7 Rebirth, Horizon FW, Spiderman 2, Demon Souls Remake. Im on all platforms but no one does quality like playstation
I have all 3 systems currently and my PS5 collection is def the biggest of the 3. If its available on all 3 systems I always scoop it up on ps5.
Horizion zero dawn and forbidden west is earth shattering.
I also love A Plague Tale series 10/10!
The PS5 is one of my favourite consoles ever. I love the controller and all its features, I love the ability to play PS4s fabulous library, and even though many of the newer games for the console are sequels and remakes, I'm having a blast with those too. 10/10 experience

Spiderman 1 remastered. I absolutely LOVED that game. There were points where it really moved me, more than most games do.
Miles morales and Spiderman 2, both superb also but that first one oh man...
Spiderman 1 set-pieces were a cut above

Nice list Johnny, great games. It all boils down to what made it special for you irregardless of what critics or others say, it's about how it connects with the individual even if the game has flaws. I personally loved games like Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Horizon FW, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. I loved Ghost also but I played it to completion on my PS4 before they announced the Iki Island expansion so I don't think I can count it as a PS5 experience apart from the dlc. Astro's Playroom was a joy to play & the call backs & references to past systems & characters were brilliant. I also really enjoyed Sifu, a brutally refreshing experience. Kena Bridge of Spirits was beautiful & also more challenging then it's astetics bely. The Quarry was fun too.

Super underrated!
They did a good job with all the controller features in that game. The haptics and all that. It isn't something I would have expected to care about since I often disable vibration to make controller battery last longer but once I got into the game and felt it I wouldn't want to play it without it. Feels good.

Absolutely. Easily the best first-party title on PS5.
Love returnal is such a good combination of great gameplay and atmosphere. Feels really nice to play with haptic feedback

I spent 6 hours in total and didn't even manage to get to the first boss. Wasn't fun at all for me, lol
FF7R, RE4R, P3R, FF16, Spider-Man 2, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, and GOWR are easily some of my favorites with 10/10 enjoyment on my side. And plenty more like the ones you mentioned. A lot of good games out now with not enough time. Have a good Sunday yall 🙏🏽

Thanks for sharing your mom's memory. I recently lost my dad, and man to be in a world without him has been really hard. Fell through a great depression which I've not been able to get out, and even suicidal thoughts invaded my mind... but hey we are still here to carry on their memories and live the way they wanted us to be happy. Wish you the best man.
cool list Johnny! Glad to see SMT5 here. I liked it so much on switch I didnt even mind that much having to pay full price again on ps5 for the 60fps and all that extra content. Amazing game.

I picked up FF7 Rebirth a month ago and I’m still loving it. I only play about 10 hours a week, but this game is amazing. I think it’s my favorite FF game and I’m only a third of the way through it. Highly recommended.
I 100% Ghost of Tsushima. I almost never 100% a game. So beautiful and the gameplay is amazing. Also agree on 10/10.
For some reasons I rarely finish bigg open world games...I get bored after a while. This was NOT the case of Ghost of Tsushima!!! What a gem!😍

Ghost of Tsushima was my first ever PS4 game. Just got the console last year and played it this March. Absolutely beautiful on PS4, so I can only imagine how great it looks on PS5.
It was a 10/10 game for me as well, the first I’d played in a while. I could easily go back to it and do more of the post-story stuff, but trying to play more games haha
I originally had it on my PS4 and when I got my PS5 there is a $30 upgrade option which was well worth it!

My two favorite open world games are Ghosts and Red Dead Redemption 2,both are so well done and the characters are absolutely amazing, the devs knocked these games out of the park. Great video and keep up the great work, ML&R Scott.

Bought a PS5 for it & Armored Core (that first trailer had my base PS4 sweating).
I've tried many times to love Returnal and get past the 3rd biome but it's way too difficult. Makes Souls games look easy

I've been obsessed with Ghost of Tsushima for the past 2 months and watching this video makes me want to call in sick from work and go back to play Ghost of Tsushima 😄
It's cool to see you dig REBIRTH as much as I did. If you dig Ghost of Tsushima, you should check out Rise of the Ronin too man, it's absolutely incredible.
Haven't picked up a PS5 yet, but with Visions of Mana and Metaphor fast approaching, I'm starting to keep an eye out for sales (and maybe a pro version since I've waited this long).

trails through daybreak is an 11/10.. this is a very good entry point to the series and you'll love the soundtrack for sure.. if trails of cold steel put you off with the highschool settings.. then this game is the opposite of it.. the main protag is now a mercenery slash detective called a "spriggan"..
Would love to know how John creates space to make time to play all these games. I have just one system and my backlog will never be surmounted. How do you do it John? Would love to learn what your routine is and how you balance video gaming with family life! I'm really curious to know if you play everything you own.

you just gotta tackle it one at a time. Don't think about how many games you have left, just the ones you really want to play/try and go at it. Maybe make a list prioritizing the games? The thing is, you shouldn't feel compelled to beat something just cause you own it. Give it a fair try and see if it's your cup of tea. Also, if you are someone who does this, stop buying new games (unless it's something special you know you are going to play). They'll just add to the never-ending pile and you can get them for way cheaper if you wait.
There's a few things I do to get through my backlog, dunno if it'll help you but it helps me a lot. Make a commitment to how much you'll play of each game. Don't go in thinking you'll see everything there is to do cause it's not feasible, especially with some of the sprawling RPG's out there. For myself, I just say I'll go as far as rolling the credits. If I really like the game and want to continue with it, I'll allocate some extra time to getting all the trophies or playing the DLC's, but otherwise I'm moving on once those credits play out.
Content creation is his full time job. Plenty of time to play games

Great list. Played them all apart from Armoured core and i'd agree with the 10/10 for most. I'd add The Last of Us Games even though they were on other generations but remade for PS5. Stellar Blade. Spiderman 2. Final fantasy 16 and Alan Wake 2.

Armoured core looks glorious !! It does sound difficult but it’s wonderful to see the power of the Ps5. My most anticipated ps5 game is final fantasy vii remake part 2 . And well of course I am excited to try Tales of Arise even though I’ve played it on ps4.

I always enjoy your videos John! When I was watching I was thinking in my head most of these can be played on the PS4. In your option what makes a game a PS4 game or a PS5 game? I recently played AC Mirage on my 2014 PS4 and it ran great on it. So in my head I consider it a PS4 game. On the other hand, I think of the PS5 Exclusive Ratchet and Clank as a PS5 game. Just curious to what you think on stuff like that. Have a great Sunday!
Returnal was the quintessential PS5 10/10 for me. I loved every second of that game.

@@oxsila I was a big fan of Housemarque and not at all a fan of roguelikes and Returnal kicked down the door for that entire genre for me. I loved Returnal so much. Unbelievably good and nobody talks about it
@@spacelion4763 Yeah i'm really picky with the roguelikes I play. Tried so many but so many just bore me. I've only fully played through 3 of them - Dead Cells, Hades and Returnal. When the genre is done right, it's some of the best gaming ever

@@phillipcollins1103 Just talking about the games that Johnny talks about in this video, Demons Souls (the remake) is still a PlayStation 5 exclusive, as well as Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (for now).

Resident Evil 4 remake is a 10 /10 with the DLC.
Without the DLC it comes up short.
8/10.
My main reason for this is that lots of things were cut from the game.
The DLC fixes this.

Sadly for me not many 10/10 new games on any consoles and most for me was just a remake or remaster version of older games that I love already that I gave 9 or 10/10.😂

Armored Core 6 is an absolute gem. I really like this list in general, I cried at the end of Ghosts of Tsushima, amazing game as well.

I pretty much agree with every game you listed. I was waiting for a Demon Souls mention and was pleased when it appeared. I think out of all the games you listed I could probably leave GOW. The rest of your choices were seriously on point !

I don't usually care about platinum trophies and I rarely seek out games where I plan to get the trophies because so many games have online/competitive modes that I don't care about playing. Both God of War games, especially Ragnarok had me so wrapped up in it that I didn't find any issue with trying for the plat. I was loving every minute of playing so much that I wanted to do everything there was to do.
