Paypal IS NOT SAFE for buyers. Their "Buyer Protection" is nothing but false advertising to lure buyers into a false sense of security. Here is a direct quote I received from Paypal with regards to an $800 dispute: "if an item is materially similar to the seller's description, we do not consider it to be significantly not as described." The seller's website clearly shows returns accepted, but refused to honor it. Paypal's response about that: "that's between you and them."

What about service not rendered, if it’s not a physical product but a service you paid for that you didn’t receive because you wanted a refund? When you do a chargeback, don’t you end up owing PayPal money if they closed the case as well?

I’m curious to know if you can give me some advice. I used my PayPal debit card as well as my Venmo debit card to pay for several nights at a motel. My experience at the motel was not good. There were issues with the service as well as 2 out of the 3 rooms I stayed in had roaches. I sent a letter to the motel asking for a refund, no reply. So I filed a dispute in the Resolution Center. PayPal denied my claim that the charges weren’t covered under Buyers Protection and Venmo denied because merchant told them I accepted the room and therefore I shouldn’t be able to ask for refund. I strongly believe I have a claim for a refund and I’m wondering if there is anything else I can do to convince PayPal and Venmo that I’m right?

This is my current situation, I believed I had a good relationship with an ebay seller, had spend few thousand, saw an item for buy it now price, I asked if we do outside ebay and for lower price. Long story short, the seller has blocked me from his ebay account, has provided tracking which took seller 5 weeks to provide, has been total now 2.5 months, the item is finally moving. I have started a PayPal claim, I spoke to someone in PayPal, I mentioned I no longer trust what is in item, the person suggested do not open item, refuse accepting item and send back, I used PayPal balance not credit card. I will never use ebay/PayPal again unless item is within driving distance

@the_mcscientist I contacted the post office about the tracking number, tracking number was a fake, had them send me an email with the findings, and send all emails from seller asking about my order, with all that proof,
I was granted back a full refund.
if the seller doesn't respond in dispute Item not received or give me any information about the tracking number or the shipment how long it is going to take to refund me

Credit cards don’t like charge backs with thirds party processors like PayPal
I commissioned artwork and it was received, but not as described (1000px smaller than it was supposed to be and copied/traced). Traced art is real bad.

I am a seller, took pictures before shipping ect. Now the buyer has buyers remorse and just opened a dispute. She bought a really expensive handmade dress from me. I sold it because we need to pay an upcoming vet bill, and I am so scared she is cheating us out of the money and getting a free dress. Does PayPal look at disputes fairly? I have just uploaded all my proof, communication with her ect. But I am so scared 😅

That sounds really stupid, it's not their right to make if he can chargeback or not. Imagine a scenario of someone getting raped and then the rapist saying I give up my right on being sued, no that's not how it works.

I was told I had to ship item back to China and pay for shipping even though it was a completely different item I received from pictured item I ordered. PayPal is BS!!!! I had to open a case with BBB just to get my money back and PayPal still said it was my fault.
I took a virtual service and opened a dispute the he didn't provide me the service and he said he will refund me but he he added a dhl service shipping number and I don't know from where did he get that please help me to get my money back i am not sure how many people did he scammed before

It they haven't offered you a full refund, then you need to escalate it to a claim and demand PayPal to tell the seller to refund you.

A way that I know 100% works is to tell your bank that your card was stolen and to refund every purchases made online with it
dear i have been a victim of this scam and guess what paypal is not listening and it is with the seller side, may be they provided any fabricated documents and shipment tracking code, but i have been scammmed in telegram where they asked me to pay via btc i payed partially with 2*paypal and btc, but could you kindly reply how to mentioned the issue to same credit card vendor in this case it is kotak mahindra bank India who is the vendor can u give few tips to me. thanks a ton.

@@iamridgel yeah, usually your bank should side with you. For example whenever my siblings make a crazy purchase online, my father calls his bank and they refund the money back. Make sure you provide them with evidence if possible. I Hope you receive your refund.

Don't EVER use friends or family option for people you don't know. There's nothing you can do. If I had to guess, you and your friends are too young to be handling money, so I'd just stay away from Amy credit/debit card.

When do you escalate a claim?
If a buyer dispute can't be resolved with the seller, either party can escalate it to a claim during the 20-day period. At this point, PayPal becomes directly involved and will make a decision using the information that's provided. (so escalate to a claim if your initial dispute can't be resolved with the seller)

I got scammed but the seller provided tracking information. The dispute is still open and I dunno what's gonna happen. Unfortunately, I used my PayPal balance. Is there any way around this?
Update: The tracking number was already signed by somebody else with a different name so paypal gave me my money back.

I’m going to actually sue PayPal if I don’t receive my money back. I filed a dispute because the seller never shipped my item and they decided to give me a partial refund. They are straight thieves!!
Can he help me? Because I rejected the partial refund on the bases that they didn’t keep up to their end of the deal. They said I should petition my bank for the money back. But i pay PayPal a percentage of my sales in order to oversee that the sellers send the items. I’m so angry about it. PayPal got paid and the seller got paid but I received absolutely nothing!! Not even a tracking number as proof of shipping. 😤
