It's been replaced with tall mammoth skyscrapers and more keep being added. Now what's stands there are a shell of our old "go to stores", about to be closed down for many more skyscrapers I am not complaining because I understand "major change happens" every 100 years or so. Don't know how old you are but depending on your age you might recall Abraham & Strauss, fondly called A&S by all us then locals. Well A&S changed to Macy's. I say that as it reminded me of something said to me many years ago when I was younger that wasn't meant to be funny...but it was to me. My best friend had serious attraction to much older men....much older. I know this won't come out funny in a comment forum but it was then when my friend said it to me about her then old boyfriend: "When he was born....downtown Brooklyn "was still a forest"! I guess about 5 or 10 years from now, I, and possibly you, will be reminiciting with some young person by saying "....I remember when downtown Brooklyn was really, really cool".
And just when you thought you'd heard EVERY possible version of this classic, john morales strikes again and pulls another jewel out of the bag !! absolutely amazing
