John Brzenk (born July 15, 1964) is a professional armwrestler from the United States. He competes in the Ultimate Armwrestling League, is the current UAL Right-Handed Champion (Heavyweight Division).[1] He won the 2015 World Armwrestling League right handed Heavyweight championship.[2] Among experts Brzenk is widely regarded, and was also officially named by the Guinness Book of World Records, as the "Greatest Armwrestler of All Time".[3][4]
John Brzenk Junior's father John Brzenk Senior was an arm wrestler[5] and Brzenk says he gained some of his forearm size through genetics. He arm wrestled across tables in school for about five years. When he was in eighth grade, he broke his arm while armwrestling a friend of his father.[6] When he was 16 years old he participated in his first tournament. He gained the name "Giant Crusher" for his ability to pin opponents twice his size.[7]
Brzenk started his career in 1982, and he won his first world title on ABC's 1983 Wide World of Sports when he was 18 years old.[3] His right forearm is 16 inches in circumference, and his left is 13.5 inches.[8] The heaviest opponent he faced weighed 660 lbs, whom he defeated. In his entire career John has only lost a single supermatch once, and only a handful of people have ever beaten him, which only happened later in his career when he was of advanced age.[9] The most noted of them are Devon Larratt and Alexey Voyevoda. Aside from arm wrestling, he works as a mechanic at Delta Air Lines.[10] He says the job is non-physical so his arms get plenty of rest. During his career he has competed for upwards of USD$80 000 at times.[11][12]
Brzenk won four world championships in the heavyweight division through 1994, and gained the nickname of "Superman" for defeating much larger opponents. In 1995, he won the middleweight world championship.[13] He had an uncredited cameo in the 1987 Sylvester Stallone film Over the Top. The feature documentary "Pulling John", directed by Vassiliki Khonsari and Sevan Matossian, produced by Navid Khonsari, chronicles Brzenk's legendary armwrestling career and follows him intimately for 4 years during which he competes all over the world, while considering retiring.[14][15

Craziest part about John is he likes to pull through the peak of someone's hit. No fear, and wants to defeat in the purist of ways
Yeah it's crazy. I didnt know that until you mentioned it, but you can clearly see it in the matches. That is the ultimate defeat, being torn back from/on your own hit. Nothing can be done, utterly defeated

I think it says a lot because he beat Larrat in 2015. If we are talking 2000 or 2005 its no big deal, but in 2015 John is way past his prime and still beats Devon and Michael Todd.

Denis was new to the sport! Larrat pulled denis in his prime not just physically but in the sport itself. Denis himself said “ I didn’t know what I was doing really, I had poor technique, when I pulled John” that’s on record even
He would have destroyed John in 09 pulling denis if he was in his prime knowledge wise. Larrat is a phenomenal arm wrestler. Perhaps get some understanding under what circumstance John “won” from denis

John got defeated by others too , are they all better now than John? Larrat is a elite level armwrestler and for sure recognized by his peers as ONE OF the best on the table.

It says nothing first of all larrat was post surgery and super weal... As to todd he first pulled jerry in a war and then had to pull John without rest. No way in hell john could pull through todd fresh.. as to larrat he lost chanceless in 2008 to him how would he suddenly beat him in 2015? Ah yes elbow surgery is a thing

There are many, many greats in sports history but there is only one undisputed number one arm wrestler of all time. John Brzenk. To this day I do not know how he does what he does. His strength and technique are beyond normal understanding. What is even more impressive is his character. Always a gentleman and always a class act. Losing to him must be strange because you want to win but the man who beat you respects you and treats you as an equal. Truly there has and never will be an equal to John Brzenk.

A lot of people are wasting their time trying intimidate John. When I watch the Michael Todd vs John Brzenk match, its like wow Brzenk just dusted him. He destroyed the king's move. The same king's move that took devon by surprise. Brzenk was in total control the whole time. Now I must say much respect to Mike for becoming a good dude, and slowly becoming one of my favorites as well.

This video was posted in Feb 2020. John had agreed to participate in the Top 8 tournament, but the pandemic hit the world in March and it was cancelled. So, he was going to come back, but the pandemic put a stop to that. I think it's a good thing. His shoulder is done

Slip like that should be punished with disqualification. Love what Devon represents to the sport nowadays. But you simply just don't do that. Not at that level. Face the man. Loose. And keep your dignity. Don't run from the fight.
Devon is the strap master. He needs to get to the strap any way he can. It's all part of the game.
