Morning Andy! For me, that is the best looking, most fun replica that I've seen you review, certainly the most accurate. I'm saving for a pcp rifle upgrade and steadfastly trying not to be tempted by your reviews, you do not make it easy 😀
The pistol favoured by Jesse James and Wild Bill Hickok, who incidently, could shoot equally well with either hand. A fine review as always, keep 'em coming pardner.... yeeeehaaa !
I have 3 of these and they are by far my favourite pistols. I got one when they first came out and picked up the other two since then. However my biggest frustration is that despite what the ASG website says, it is impossible to get spare parts… namely parts (1-11) and (1-23) which are definitely the guns weak points. After a few thousand shots the ejector snapping down causes one of two things, either the female side will split and will no longer bite the threads or the threads will strip off the male side. It’s two very simple parts however replacements just do not exist. I still have not found a reliable way of fixing them together.
It is appalling when a serviceable item fails through lack of support. Totally unforgiveable in the modern trading situation. It reflects a shoddy "take the money and run" attitude. I did consider a purchase until I read this.
I bought this one for my 15 year old a few years ago and we were surprised how accurate and high powered for a replica it was. Also from being at Little Big Horn they called it 'greasy grass' because of all the blood in the scrub.
What about Gordon the Gopher. No one has given him a second thought. He had a hand up his ass for years on live TV. We need to save Gordon . The poor chap must need some professional help
Andy I’ve been looking at your review again as something was niggling me. It’s the barrel. Would you kindly look into yours and confirm that it is indeed rifled. As far as I was aware they are 6” smooth barrels and it is the shells that determine the difference between pellet and bb versions. If you look into a pellet shell you should see a simple rifling which is supposed to spin the pellet before entering the smooth bore barrel.
Really great review about that piece of history. Would probably really have changed something during 1861 and onwards. N.B.: just recently I was lucky enough to find your channel. With reference to one of your "old" themes dealing with ridiculous/idiotic laws : seems that UK and Germany have way more in common than one would think ! Anyway, thank you also for same way giving "english-lessons", featuring British humour at its best. What a pleasure to watch and listen to ! Kind regards from Germany
Superbes répliques ! Merci pour cette présentation…. J’ai les deux et à chaque fois que je les sors ….je retombe en enfance . Je me revois dans les films de John Wayne !!😊🤭🎯
under rated pistol by the co2 community ,lovely trigger pull, great balance as its slightly front end heavy which counter acts firing cycle, makes for better than average accuracy.
Hi Andy,,my great grandfather was killed at the Battle of the Little Bighorn ,,,he wasn't fighting with the US Army,,he was camping in the next field and went over to complain about the noise ?
Hi Andy, I've got a Schofield. I normally shoot only ·22 but as you said, these are really good fun for plinking and a little target work too. They're simple to load, just like the Webley MkIV (I've got the ·22 version of that too), just not as powerful. My favourite target gun is still my beloved Crosman 2240 though. I'm on my 2nd one now, the first being 30 years old and a bit tired. I'd love there to be a ·22 Schofield one day....
I looked at these some time back.. I went through every one in the shop that the box said "rifled", but none of the barrels were rifled. May I ask how good the hinge pivot is? I have two Webley's and both have far too.much play in the hinge pivot, even when the action is closed. If rifled and the hinge is good I can see, finally, one of these being added to the pile.
Spit it out Andy 😂 little big horn must have been horrific Lovely looking replica there, might have to break my resolve and add one to my collection, my Colt SAA could do with a friend 😊
I brought one of these secondhand. Seller said it was in excellent condition but failed to mention the *massive scratch down one side,* presumably from (wo?)man handling it from a holster. But even so I liked it so much I brought another solely for display. There is another made by a Canadian company; if they ever sell here I'll probably buy one of theirs too.
Are these similar to the Barra Schofield revolver, in terms of quality? It seems the Barra offering allows you to buy an extra barrel kit to swap between .177 and .22.
I have a few Barra guns Including the Scofield pistol and the 1866 pumper and I love there guns ! What no fancy pistol spining in this video like the cowboys used to do ? Lol
Did the weather conditions at little big horn affect their co2 performance?? Looks good and was one of the pistols used in Unforgiven. I like the look of this and fancy a Webley.
Black weathered version grips are faux wood. Webley revolver shells are identical. My silver one has a .22 rifled Anschutz barrel modification. When shooting a revolver always count your shots as my old instructor told me. No need to copy Harry Callaghan then.
"And nope, that's not a disgraced morning TV presenter on a swivel chair" - Andy (After waking up this morning and choosing absolute violence lol) Amazing, laughed hard! (Then felt bad for obvious reasons lol) Great review as well lol
Handguns were mainly an officers weapon so it would not have made much difference at Little Bighorn as officers would have been a small minority.Custer is reported to have been armed with English Adams revolvers which were given to him as a gift by an aristocratic friend of his .
Extremely stripped down history. Cavalry wanted the Schofield because it was easier to reload when sitting on a horse. The reasons for not adopting it for the army as a whole came down to ammunition logistics. Schofield ammo could be used in the SAA but not vice versa. SAA used "long Colt", Schofield rounds are shorter so the long Colt didn't fit the chambers. This meant supplying two different sized rounds for the pistols, a more complex and involved situation than the army wanted to deal with. (There were other reasons too, but this was the largest issue). I have a Barra Schofield, originally a .177 smoothbore but now it's .22 with a rifled barrel thanks to a kit that's sold here in the USA that allows you to make an easy to do upgrade. More accurate than the smoothbore and with a bit more thump, Is this an option available in the UK?
We could say that the native americans were fortunate in that battle that the "Army" (see murderers in uniform) made mistakes... great reviews Andy..😊❤
I… I don’t think you’ll have a good time arguing that one side did murder while the other side was innocent in the Indian wars. The Indians weren’t exactly “live and let live” hippies living in harmony with nature and neighbours.

The shells from the Webley MkVI also fit the Schofield. I have both revolvers and have swapped shells without issue.
This high quality firing replica is a must for collectors.
I've had one of these for a few years now, and I really enjoy everything about it!
Thanks

There is no historical evidence that WBH ever used a Schofield

I've never owned a handgun of any kind, but you're bringing me round to the simple idea of a bit of plinking. Any tips for a newbie?

If you are referring to the barra/bear river Schofields, they are actually the exact same gun. ASG sell them under license.
@@asdatrollys8944 That makes sense. I wondered why they would go to all that effort and only sell to Canadians.

That break action just lends itself to a speed loader. In a battle it could have saved your life !
I'd go for the black, less blingy but more traditional and those fake wood grips look very realistic.

I buy replicas for the artistry. Not keen on the style, but I do like the chrome looking one.
You should see the one in steel grey bb the finish looks like smoked glass, beautiful gun.
Already on my shopping list. I am hesitating as I would need new shells in addition as they need their own loading shells. Very costly hobby this.
Schofield....I would be surprised if it shoots straight
