@@NewJunction indeed it has, some people gained, some lost, some companies got talked about badly, some got praised despite the same issues as others. 😊 personally, I was unhappy with their handling of things because rather than place an open ended promise that things will be done as soon as possible they put dates to things, nothing worse than promise you cannot deliver on. Just my personal view you probably have yours and you are as entitled as anyone to have yours and share it.
I agree, they do look very nice, with lovely attention to detail. I also love the contrast with the heritage coaches, as they pass them going around the layout.
The Caledonian Sleeper coaches do look fantastic and Accurascale are doing a wonderful job. Although not my era, always interested to see what’s happening out there so thanks for sharing Mike. Roy.
They look great, 92’s aswell. Accurascale really are raising the bar. Almost all of my freight is now Accurascale. Can’t wait for my 37 and then 31 to arrive. Looking forward to seeing more layout updates 👌👍

Well it’s lovely seeing you unbox and run yours after having ordered them 18 months ago. I ordered mine nearly 3 years ago and they haven’t even been dispatched yet. My Class 92 was a dogs dinner and is going back so all in all not impressed so far with my first Accurascale experience.
The locomotive and the coaches are very striking. A big contrast on services such as the Harwich boat train the 70s grubby 37s and 47s and a mix of MK1 coaches and even older stock. All basically filthy.
Excellent video demonstrating the high level of detail and running characteristics of modern stock. One negative only and that's the sound. I think I'd rather listen to fingernails on a blackboard than that whining. On a positive, your layout is coming on a treat, well done.
I got two 92's which are the two exclusives from Accurascale of 92010 in Caledonian Sleeper livery and also 92022 in the Railfreight livery. I do have one pack of the Caledonian Sleeper MK5's which the one I have is the Highlander Pack 3 which I got to say they are my favourite coaches I own in my collection I also have one pack of the TPE ones coming as I have my 68 ready for my TPE ones to come. I say the detail on the MK5's are amazing with Accurascale being very good on they models from they locos to they wagons plus coaches. I like the unboxing videos as well as your updates to your New New Junction.

Got mine this week, yet to get them out of the packaging, which is pretty great. 92 arrived with the coaches also. That is pretty smart also, yet to give that a try either.
I really like accurascales new mk5 coaches they are nice models, plus I've ordered pack 1 of the TPE mk5 coaches to go with one of my Dapol TPE class 68s.
Wozza. They certainly look mighty impressive. Now even the humble coach is being brought up to modern standards with magnetic couplings & lighting - straight out the box.
I've got both the class 92 and the fort william highlander pack and both are fantastic planning to extend my carriages to 6 coaches when more are produced as the fort william portion has gained 2 extra coaches.

Anyhow, I had heard of the train and listened to friends talk about their coming, but I had never seen the train in model or real life when we were in Scotland last June. What a gorgeous rake of coaches and matching loco. Joyce and I are now intent on riding one our next trip to the UK in a couple years. Awesome and congrats on them!
I've got the full highlander rake of 18 coaches and it looks stunning going round the layout. I've also got 6 of the 92s now. They are easily the best RTR locos currently!
Got a pair of the 4 car low lander sets. They’re impressive looking models. . I have found that the magnetic couplings do fail from time to time especially the front 2 coaches behind the loco , in that they are taking the full weight of the rest of the coaches & sometimes the kinematic is getting stuck & when it comes off the bend onto the straight & this means that only 2 of the 4 magnets are in use & it’s not enough to keep it coupled. Funnily enough I fitted one of the dellner couplings to the Lima 92 & because the coupling is bogie mounted & moves to the curve there are no issues at all. The failing of the Hornby sd mk3’s & the mk5’s is they don’t have the plate underneath that you find on the Bachman mk1’s & continental HO gear whereby the the bogie has the ability to nudge the kinematic as it turns & to then nudge it back onto the straight. . I resolved the detaching issue by fitting the Roco couplers you get with the Hornby mk3’s to the mk5’s & they work really well. Massive gap between the coaches , but I’m sure Roco do shorter length ones. . Going to give some Marklin couplers a go as I’m not sold that when I’m push mode for the transpennine ones the magnetic coupling is up to the job. You cannot argue that the guys at Accurascale haven’t done a mighty fine job with these & for the price point of £45 a coach with lights etc they are great value compared to what £45 gets with Hornby or the £6-90 for Bachman’s lit coaches. The only other issue I had was that a gangway was fitted upside down on one coach , hardly a deal breaker. They’ve been well worth the wait
Go for the fixed drawbar that accurascale are producing for it. I've got some on order as with 18 coaches the magnets aren't even close to being strong enough (not that I expected them to be). It keeps the same super close coupling without the uncoupling problem
@@NewJunction their magnets are certainly more powerful than hunt couplings but I doubt they were ever designed for the full rake of 18.. I think their thinking behind it was most are going to go for a couple of packs and not all 4 since most people won't have space for a rake that's over 5.5m long. Personally I prefer fixed couplings anyway as none of my stock ever comes off the tracks, it's always stored in fiddle yards
Having bought a 92 on an impulse buy, can’t fault it at all- just waiting for the non-sound chip from accurascale! Seeing all these mk5s arrive now makes me wish I had bought the CS 92 and Edinburgh rake 😅. Keep up the top, modern, east coast content!

Well done! Nice acquisition! Just hang the box top as-is (not cut in any way) on the wall as a 3 dimensional wall hanging, and keep the remainder of the box for safe keeping and possible future use, etc. If you get other sets in the same similar boxes, then also hang the box tops of those sets too, and fill up your train room walls with cool train box covers. 😀
Great video as ever Richard, eagerly awaiting the TPE sets now, but I'm very tempted to add the Caledonian ones to, funds permitting. I've just got a vision of this running down Making Tracks 3 in the summer and at GETS to and that will be a spectacle to behold. I keep looking at the 92s, they look amazing in pictures. Always great watching your videos Richard whatever the subject... bet that little lot was pricey, I wish Farish would do 4 packs for their coaches MK1's and MK2's. I have been considering changing to OO but having a 12x8 in N is great for full length trains disappearing in the depths of the scenery.

I've recently had 12 of the Lowlander rake arrive, have to say I think I'm going to have to buy the remaining pack and run 2x 8 car sets as they are very impressive. Also have the Mk5a on order too and can't wait to see that, especially the DVT end!
Can understand your excitement as to the box and its contents, had the same experience when I received my n scale Canadian Pacific maroon liveried 'The Canadian' set from Rapido - 2x5 cars in 'bookcase' and an additional 3-car set and a separate 'Skyline' dome car. Needed minor adjustments to the couplings prior to running them, which was a shame given the cost but that was more than made up for with the detail on each of the coaches and with interior lighting coming as standard. Like the look of those Mk5 Sleepers, look very sleek. Why the need to change the couplings though?
Well I enjoyed seeing this Richard. Both the 92's and the Mk.5's look great although its not a train that would fit in with my collection. (at least until I come across a second hand set going at a bargain price. lol.)

Watching them on the heritage line emphasised how little clearance there is between the engine pantograph and the board above. Is that scale distance realistic?
I often see this at Rugby early in the morning on my way into work. Sometimes it stops for a red signal and must be the only station en route where the whole 16 coach train fits into the platform. I've got 3 mk2Bs on preorder. I wonder if Accurascale can be persuaded to produce a mk2A and a mk1 BG in blue & grey....

I’d love your feedback on the quality of the coaches. I’ve not bought from Accurascale before but my layout is 1980’s/90’s Western region Network SouthEast, so I’m contemplating buying their Mk2 coaches.
Can't help keep looking at the height clearance above your class 92 when appearing under the upper level, it appears you would not be able to run with pantergraph in up position?
It is a lovely train set, of coaches and the colours, look fantastic, but It is a bit too modern for me, in fact, way too modern. I still like to see what I cannot afford and keep up to date. Best wishes to the New Junction family. Martin. (Thailand)
Accurascale is a far superior model making company than Hornby. Attention to detail is second to none. Hopefully they will break into the TT120 market and give Hornby a good drubbing.
This really makes me cross. Why? Because my house move has just fallen through so I have to wait even longer before I can build my new model railway and run things like these on it. 😡😳😄

You'd change the couplings for 16+ coach rakes as the magnets would become a tad unreliable 😊

I’d love your feedback on the quality of the coaches. I’ve not bought from Accurascale before but my layout is 1980’s/90’s Western region Network SouthEast, so I’m contemplating buying their Mk2 coaches.
I've only had a play with the EPs of the Mk2s so far but they look good!

Very nice as well, its been modelled correctly rather than a generic coach.

Can't help keep looking at the height clearance above your class 92 when appearing under the upper level, it appears you would not be able to run with pantergraph in up position?

It is a lovely train set, of coaches and the colours, look fantastic, but It is a bit too modern for me, in fact, way too modern. I still like to see what I cannot afford and keep up to date. Best wishes to the New Junction family. Martin. (Thailand)

Accurascale is a far superior model making company than Hornby. Attention to detail is second to none. Hopefully they will break into the TT120 market and give Hornby a good drubbing.
This really makes me cross. Why? Because my house move has just fallen through so I have to wait even longer before I can build my new model railway and run things like these on it. 😡😳😄
