That Dwarf Warrior stood up very quickly after being mauled by the thing in the woods.
He's a dwarf
A wolf thing is nothing
Just 1 more bug
Of course, there are grudges to be settled and ale to be drank
He got mauled DISRESPECTFULLY so obviously he had a grudge
@@Ludvik789eo
Exhaustion is one of a hell debuff.
Grombrindal has 70 MA and 45 MD at the start of the battle. In reality Grombrindal has 70 - (70*0.7)=49 MA and 45-(45*0,9)= 40 MD. Hellbrass has 60 MA, 50 MD and how others noted seems to have perfect vigor. If true that means Grombi will have a 35+49-50=34% to hit and a 35+60-40=55% chance to get hit.
Also it is annoying that after so many years the game will not show you exhaustion effects on the unit cards.
I don't think Aekold has perfect vigour but he gets constant vigour regen as one of his abilities along with his healing. Not 100% sure on that tough so may be wrong and he just straight up has perfect vigour.
@@jimbob4447vigor regen is actually more powerful than perfect vigor because Perfect Vigour is bugged. If caught caught in force march or even a spell debuff Perfect Vigour gets frozen at the debuffed level and won’t let you get above it again
Ahhhh interesting, that's a hell of a debuff for sure man. I did not know this.
caught caught yes-yes?
@@Pyromaniac77777
yea its lame it isnt shown normally, but there is a mod that will show it, at least...
That scorpion/jade lion fight was ridiculous
SEM vs SEM engagements have been like this since game 1
this was as comical as it was adorable
you want more? $25
@@baconsoup8346 they added generic SEM vs generic SEM anims for monsters in WH3, in WH2 they were limited to very specific matchups like Carno vs Dragon or dragon vs Abomination etc.
The new generic ones are inevitably generic and uninspired cause they must fit every monster, but hey, better than mindless swinging at the feet and constantly losing focus (though that still happens sometimes).
The Things are definitely a valid part of Kislev lore, but it'll be odd to see them lining up alongside the likes of Ice Guard and Griffon Legion
I don't imagine lore wise that they "Line up" given how so many are told terrible stories about Ostankya and the other Hags.
More so, the things just sort of explode out of the woods, to both Kislev and whatever enemy armies surprise, and then slink back to the wood after combat. With perhaps a Hag giving some after battle interaction. A solemn nod and the Motherland protects, or some sort.
And from a game play perspective its not all that different from Kislev lining up with all its Beasts like the Elemental bear and Leopards.
thats why they needed to add Hag Mother, to have this as some sort of wild army roaming around and helping your faction, at least from rp perspective
@@miloradlukic9277 Yes of course. This is the absolutely ONLY possible explanation anyone in the world could come up with. Absolutely HAD to have a Hag Mother in order to include this in the game. Nope, there are not centuries of myths and folklore from a certain region that Kislev is based upon. Not a single legend from that region of the world, and definitely NO reading material that is easily found on the internet with countless examples. Nope, you are absolutely correct and not narrow minded and naive at all. 100% correct with no errors, there is NO OTHER POSSIBLE way for this to work. Not one. Believe this person, they know exactly what they are talking about and are an absolute verifiable genius on the topic, having a plethora of experience with both that region of the world and their folklore.
What a pile of human garbage. Stay sheltered kiddo.

feels like Beastmen kinda got a bit of a stealth win with this DLC. getting Tzaangors and I hear they're getting the Elemental Incarnate of Beasts too, which makes sense because from the lore those are normally things summoned by Bray Shamans (so Beastmen) and Amber Wizards (so the Empire should get them too). wouldn't be surprised if they get the Cockatrice as well.
Will the Elemental be a summon only? Seems like beastmen already have a large monster roster.
@@jerubaal101 no idea, but I see no harm in adding a few more.
@@jerubaal101they're kinda supposed to though
I hate this units sharing. All factions need their own unique units.
Beastmen already have similarly performing units.
@@Prushinthespirit it's kinda a case where it fits.
Tzeentch should have all Tzeentch units. Beastmen should have all Beastman units
Tzaangors are indisputably a Tzeentch unit
but they're also indisputably a Beastman unit
and Incarnate Elementals are associated with Winds of Magic rather than any faction. in theory any faction with access to Lore of Beast casters should be able to make Incarnate Elementals of Beasts (so... Empire, Vampire Counts, Beastmen, Wood Elves, Brettonia, High Elves, Dark Elves, Lizardmen, Ogres, Kislev, and Tzeentch (since it can be accessed via Kairos, the Blue Scribes, and the Changeling)).
same for the other 2 known Incarnate Elementals (Incarnate Elemental of Death and Incarnate Elemental of Fire) and the 5 that are only theorized to exist in the lore.
Seems like Aekold has perfect vigour because he is still fresh at the end whereas Grombrindal is exhausted so that is probably what is making him miss so much I assume Grimgor doesn't have perfect vigour either
Grimgor and Grombi are also some of the weakest footlords. Can’t even hold a candle to newer/reworked lords like Astragoth and Archaon.
his ability gives him regen and constant vigor replenishment
@@Lukashoffmann94 They got stripped of their abilities. Grimgor with You're Next and Gitsnik would have turned Aekold into mince in like half the time this fight took.
@@darthplagueis13 Sure, but does anyone know the price of a naked Aekold?
I have only seen the 1750g price, which probably includes some of his abilities/items already.
Should be around Grimgors price point if you take him naked.
So while he would loose with full loadouts, he would also have quite a bit more battlefield control with a vortex and an aoe slow.
@@Lukashoffmann94naked grimgor is around 1400 if he just had his passive abilitie that increase his defence and overall resistance i think he would have won
I was originally most excited about the Cathay units, but honestly after seeing all the units in combat, I am now most excited for the Tzeentch and Kislev roster. Tzeentch because the units look really cool and unique, and Kislev because it gives Katarin what she needs to compete with the likes of Azhag, Throt and Drycha. Also RIP Snikch, the new Cathay units are like a direct counter to skaven lol.
prayers for all the Snikch mains out there , CA will never let you rest
I think what is important to note is that the jade/jet lions can buff the Cathayan frontline with harmony buffs, allowing your ranged units to sit back further and freeing up your formations a bit.
@@wtfmate1066 yeah, personally don't find support units like that very useful in game. Heroes that buff things like missile strength is great, but units like grail relique and stuff I tend to just avoid. Hoping that the jade drum will be different.
@@Frederatorr Grail Relique stuff is really good if you for whatever reason fight a faction that'll just terror rout your chaff nearly immediately. Otherwise? Kinda mid in the Grail Reliques case, but usually units like it can fight a little aswell.
Cathay and Tomb Kings watching their pets play at the park.
Feels like the Bloodthirster really should be stronger as it's Khorne's strongest Daemon.
Not really flying is very strong if theyd also win against everything on their own they would be far too good also khorne is already op no need for buffs
Or just give us an Exalted Bloodthirster unit which is just Skarbrand but can fly
@@IceBear-jb1ip They exist as Lords already.
@@Vengar_ Yeah no shit but they should be regular units too since they’re so good
The Jade/Jet Lion animation for attacking infantry is my favourite, they roll onto their side and kick with their rear legs exactly like a house cat it's fucking adorable
The jade lion rolling around like a attention craving puppy is kind of cute tho...
@@Malignard NO one was talking about the DLCs cost. Stop being salty and don't buy it if it isn't worth your cash. It's really that simple
that dwarf just got straight back up after being mauled at 0:34
'tis but a flesh wound
i think its part of the animation of getting hit
I'd hope that Jade Lion has some decent mass, cause it's...ya know..made of jade
The crowmen are a nice addition sepcifically because they murder furies so well. They are a relatively cheap defense for Cathay against chaos furies, which they really needed.
Love how the Jade/Jet Lions come across more like cuddly housecats than lions in their combat animations.
Part of what constitutes the designation of "anti-infantry" seems to also take into account not only the bonus damage types but also the attack patterns. The scorpion and jade lion for example have animations that are far more impressive when in the middle of a huge cluster. Good for anti-skaven or any swarm army that lacks potent spear usage.
Something to know about the incarnate elemental is that apparently its supposed to have unbreakable. Its juat bugged.
We need to push CA to create more animations for lords and heroes to increase their reliability in single entity vs single entity fights and have them be like toggleable stances
They won't though because they are lazy and modders are already working on animations for them for free
@@YeetThyBabyI’m pretty sure it’s very difficult for modders to create new animations if not downright impossible
@@marcgw496 there's literally WIP mods up right now that add a ton of custom matched animations to a variety of races, including monster and lord units, they've even got video compilations of their progress here on TH-cam
These arena style fights you post are always amazing Zerk. Thanks for taking the time in making them for us to check out.
Ironic that Khorne is all about dishing out high atk and dmg but gets beat by everything
Lore accurate because khorne must be in a constant state of malding rage
@@loowick4074more like coping rage😂
Because bloodthirsters arent intended as land on that massive unit and just kill them you need to cycle charge or swoop them repeatedly also khorne is one of if not the strongest faction since release in both pve and pvp
aekold is honestly super impressive with his animations and movement hope future legendary heroes get his treatment
They should get anims for fightinh SE (lords/heroes) as well, as seen in the vid that the current anims don't really work well...
Aekold is also pretty cool, because he is one of the few tzeentch champions, whoose "sporadic changes" of the world around him are pretty nice - instead of mutations, tentacles from the ground and so on, he actually revives life to perfect health, creates flowers on the trails he passes, and etc. He is sort of remind that "changing to better" is also a thing among changes
The furies is an interesting question. Overall I think slaanesh are the best because they have AP and devastating flanker. They will die fast like any other furries but can put the hurt on even elites before they do. But they are terrible for this sort of matchup of course. I think I would have actually chosen nurgle furies. Not quite as damaging as khorne, but a lot more staying power which is what the furies lack.
yea KH furies are the weakest by far. ime TZ furies are the best for fury vs fury fights (that small amount of barrier health offsets both frenzy and poison). but agreed overall SL furies are the best
@@GabaGhoul0 you're probably right. Furies are super fragile but fairly high damage, so one way or another it will be a fast fight. The barrier probably maked the biggest impact in that sort of fight.
The mutalith's animations are soooo cool.
Same for Aekold and the the jade lion :)
theyre also just ripped from the kdaii destroyer but oh well
The vortex beast attacks very quickly too.
Seems like almost 2 to 1 vs some of the others with a big stagger
I wish they'd just made the vortex beat a super tanky monster with lots of special abilities/ attacks, and left the crazy bonus vs. Large to more melee-specialized creatures. Like, we don't need it to do EVERYthing well.
Wait why did the Jade Lion rout? It's a freaking animated statue and it ran away lol
Its not a "construct" like the terracota sentinel for some reason
@@steik6414 Hopefully the reason is "mistake", because it makes no earthly sense at all.
It seems like pretty much every unit Kislev got in this DLC is a glass cannon and I kinda love that!
Now if only the new DLC wouldnt cost $25 😭😭Why do you hate us CA???
Nice work - looks like more testing than Ca did :)
Man, so many of the units in these packs just look awesome.
I'm gonna ascribe the Elemental's win over the sentinels to the animation advantage the beasts have. That chest blast is perfect for stunlocking, so they get a lot more attacks on em. And, in the context of Cathay, with harmony and missile support, I'm pretty sure the Elemental is going to fold. The elemental is very, very squishy. Sentinel is still number one.
They definitely need to bring matched combat back for more monster units, The fights should be huge and dramatic between monsters of this size but instead its just vague slaps at each other until one does its death animation.
I like the new changes there is more response now from kizlev and kat.
Why nerf harpies, when CA was gonna introduce crowmen which are beating harpies with half the health remaining both have same role
their balancing team is ran by the marketing team
@@idle_q3699what balancing team lol
At least in my Kislev RoC campaign, dealing with Valkia early on was a nightmare.
Those crowmen won that fight without harmony, gotta admit there are some pretty awesome units in this dlc
Not not really...
damn those monster fights were enjoyable to watch. I also think that missing attacks were due to fatigue which reduces stats. Only possible explanation I could think of.
That Scorpions and Lions just rolling around instead of fighting gotta be my favorite thing here.
The units in this pack look cool, but I'm still not as tempted as I was with Chorfs.
You are better off waiting for the dlc to be in discount or cheap,25$ for this isn't worth it
Oh I always wait for sales
I does look cool, really gets me interested in playing Kislev.
...but I don't think it's justified to be as expensive as the chorfs.
I didn't like the price of Chorfs but they looked so enticing that I couldn't not get them. I love gunpowder units and artillery and huge area of effect spells, so Chorfs are tailor made to my tastes. This DLC does look cool but I'm not tempted to buy it until it's at least 50% off. I don't play any of the races in Shadows of Change so I might just skip this one altogether.
@@choronos With Chorfs I felt quite accepting that price increases happen, so this was a bit more expensive than previous DLC factions.
Shadows of Change is a lord pack, and it has the same cost?
I'm just confused.
Dude, when you said, "Johnny Clay shoes" I spit my lunch all over my phone and laughed until I cried.
I think the Mutalith against Sentinel fight didn’t work because it kept getting staggered out of its attack. The Sentinel was able to land way more hits
The bloodthirster isn’t quite worth the price but the flying is a major deal, it’s not some small perk it’s integral to the unit’s performance. Also the Bloodthirster does well with cycle charging, believe me I’ve won some ridiculous sieges by taking advantage of being able to isolate units on the edge and cycle charge them.
How do you get them to face each other I tried to test units and I couldn’t get them to fight one on one
Does anyone know if the things in the woods will be available to beastmen like the incarnate of beasts will?
Biggest takeaways here are Khorne is in need of serious help (seriously the furies and BT getting shit stomped for similar/cheaper prices? In the MELEE faction?) and Aekold is a bit ridiculous.
Tall boy looks like something out of witcher, thou. Will have to hire one when playing against Kislev
That jade lion segment was hilarious wtf
Holy crap though, yeah they got beat down by vargheists but they also half healthed them too, considering they cost around HALF as much that's value. Crow men are no joke.
Yuan bo animations are damn interesting.
the units look really sick, but sadly i havent seen any synced animations yet. did yall spot some or are there none?
There were a couple.
0:27
God damn the animations are so awesome
Zerk, I think only you can answer that question. What unit is the best anti Infantry killing machine ?
the Jade lion fat roll was so cute 🥺
the god damn walking clay pots are INSANE
Wish they would Shadows of Change the price
Good one
Grimgor and Grombrindal are both exhausted which means they have significantly less combat stats
does any other faction or race get access to the "things"?
Can't wait for it to go on a sale.
The Incamate should be called "Wendigo" because it looks 100% like one. (Dark wood creature of some native american myths)
thanks for showing them off
Are the things in the woods roughly the strength that gorgers were when TW:W3 first dropped?
I doubt it, they don't have such broken combos as frenzy+unbreakable. at least with these you can scare them and they'll run.
also, in this case, anti-infantry is actually the aim while Gorgers were always intended as anti-large (but frankly seemed to just be anti-everything).
The tea bagging on the terracota sentinel got me way too hard.
How do you get both armies to stand like that? Do you have someone in multiplayer on the other side who's controlling them or how does this work?
Love all your videos, keep it up 🥰
What map did you use for this?
You should have compared with norsca skinwolfs
@@Malignard
They look more like the skin wolves than anything else
8:30 that jade lion was going for that scorpion ass.
Yuan Bo's attack animations reminds me of Dynasty Warriors attack animations. haha
How are you able to play with that DLC if it's not still out?
Would you say crowmen and things represent power creep more than a good, balanced unit?
The kislev unit is so huge. Dayum
The crow men are kinda neat, like Cathay fell bats
Wouldnt chaos spawn be better to compare with things in the woods, and forsaken for tzangors?
Why do Tzaangors have so much armour for an almost naked unit of blue coloured gors?
how tf do i watch all of your shadows of change content exactly one hour after it realeasesd
Daft question I've got a 4090 laptop
Lenovo with qhd+
Are you playing in 4k and does it look much better than 1600p as obviously this is a very colourful game
It is crazy the beast incarnate is literally twice the size of the bloodthirster
As always - good fun thnx
I'm now curious how the tzentch hero does against duelist like tyrion or sigvald.
Also its the most tzentch thing to get a mystery bonus at low health where everyone just rolls shitty. Lol.
Honestly not surprised incarnates beating down everything is a thing. Elementals of various winds of magic are supposed to be extremly powerfull in warhammer setting and while fantasy warhammer featured only elemental of beasts, Age of Sigmar added some additional ones and they are extremly powerfull.
Wonder if flesh hounds beat things at infantry mulching
A nickname for the Incarnate could be Leshy or Wnedigo or Lenny.
You can call it Leshen ( the new kislev beast
kislev now has more monsters than norsca does
I reckon Zerk is a closet elf and is trying to hide his elf-love by publicly "hating" on the elves so much. I bet he has a pair of elf ears in his desk draw that he wears when he's playing Total war! ;-p
Damn it CA, you win I am buying this dlc too
It’s really silly how the Incarnate doesn’t have magical attacks
SFO Will probably fix that
Its literally a wind of magic given physical form, weird it also didnt have the rule in tabletop.
how have we not have a legendary lord tournament
We need Aekold vs Harry the hammer.
Are these all the new units or just a few?
HARALD HAMMERSTORM vs aekold hellbrass pls
5:16 MangaloreGaming approves of your hatred of elves.
Seems almost like some units have a wrong origo location, or what it would be called in modeling. Or reacting to it badly. I hope they fix it, because it's kind of silly when units stand with their back turned to whoever they're fighting.
BTW it was a really good accent, comrade, keep it up!
No test on cathay new melee lord?
Jade Lion and Tomb Scorpion are playing together :3
One day you'll see an elf archer, and he will break your nose for mocking his dead friend.
What about the Akshina ambushers and cockatrice
I call the Elemenal Incarnate of Beasts "The Wendigo."
Did the defeated mutalith just rout and run away against the TS?! I thougth it would also get the perk Daemonic Instability like everything else in the Tzeench roster.
If anything, Mutaliths should be Unbreakable since they are super-mutated chaos spawn.
Wendigo is nice short name of what it actually is
you should cycle charge the things
Furies need some price decrease or leadership buff here since if they hit half they just vaporized themself
^^^ this. furies are all underperforming atm
