Loved it when he told the sister asking him to lead a retreat for the Missionaries of Charity, that he was just a new priest, and she told him - "you won't lead the retreat. You will pray and Holy Spirit will lead the retreat." Now that's the kind of confidence in God that comes from being "prayed up" every day, from being anchored in His Presence thru prayer, surrender and selfless service. So inspiring. Thank you!

I met mother Theresa on the 90s her last trip to nyc. My father donated to the sisters of charity in asbury Nj. He did construction work volunteering and wouldn’t accept their money. He asked if MT ever came to nyc, he would prefer to meet her. Well they held true to their promise!! At the time I was a nurse at st Vincent’s in Greenwich village night shift my dad picked me up and brought me up to the Bronx. They took us in the convent snd we attended a mass with her and only 20 of us total! She did not have much to say to me but gave me a bag of blessed metals. I only have 1 left after giving them out to those that needed uplifting over the past few decades. I’ve had a couple of amazing life experiences this being tops

A message to everyone: Find the MCs near you to serve with them 💜 so worth every second serving with them.
    They are near almost everyone.
There is always an element of “not knowing what to do,” a feeling of total uselessness and realizing that our input is a small drop in the ocean, and yet choosing to do these tiny tasks with great love.
Their radical kindness and total devotion to poverty and the poor is a shining witness in the darkest areas of the world and of our own souls.
I met my husband in Kolkata serving with the MCs- so much love for them and the poor they serve 💜🙏🏻💕
Get to see them as soon as you can- that’s all I can say to everyone on the planet.

I was living in Rome during those years when Father Burns was there. I remember a classmate of his, Father Tom Niehaus, did the same things over his vacations, presenting himself to the MCs and saying that they would go anywhere; some of the sisters to go MONTHS without the Sacraments due to lack of priests. Father Tom was sent to eastern Europe where the sisters had a house for alcoholics. Father exposed the Blessed Sacrament, praying over people for healing. There was one man who, as he came in face to face contact with the Eucharist, broke down crying saying, "I haven't cried in 20 years." I know there were priests sent to Africa where they spent most of the days scraping in the hookworms from the feet of children. Imagine being a newly ordained priest and this is the job they ask you to do. So radical.

@@kevinkelly2162 Mother Theresa (St Theresa of Calcuta) became a symbol of the love towards the poorest of the poor through concrete acts of Christian charity, making the most miserable and invisible people all of a sudden visible. That ignited hatred and detracting campaigning both of the communists and sympathetic leftists to their cause, who think of themselves as the authentic moral guides of the poor’s souls, and of atheist billionaire philanthropists (who, not by surprise, fund leftist agenda), who think of themselves as luminaires of humanitarian principles to which God can only be a menace. Thanks for giving us illustration of who the useful idiots are and what they parrot online. Ideological anti-Catholicism is the most common excuse for this, considering US most ancient and durable bigotry and prejudice and… voilá!

@UCiZZtBGjAZZYdtplL5hQFVg You forgot to explain how she died with $200 million in her bank account. Also look up some of her quotes about the poor and the sick. She is evil. The reason you can't see that is because you have religion instead of morals.

      Sorry, I don't think that's the case.
Your Order must have its charisma founded by God the Father or Jesus himself, and the MCs have the charisma that Jesus transmitted to Mother Teresa.
There is no need to be ashamed as long as we all live sharing the love of God the Father with our brothers and especially with those most in need (be it in our family, our community, our work, with the poorest, with those who do not). they know the love of God, etc)
      God bless you!

@@kevinkelly2162 I've never understood this argument. Look at how she lived, look at pictures of her feet. Her lifestyle was well documented. You talk about her "personal finances" as if she was squirrelling away a yacht somewhere. She lived in well documented, constantly witnessed, absolute poverty with no luxury. What would she be spending all her riches on?

@@luxtenebris7246 What argument? I was just pointing out that there are discrepancies between her legend and who she was. Personally I think she was mentally disturbed in a sort of charismatic way and the church used her to rake in millions which never reached the people who's suffering she used to collect money. How much she personally profited I don't know but when she got sick she did not go to one of her own 'hospitals'. But some of the stuff she said about suffering are just sick. Good thing she started her own hospital because she would never have been allowed to work in a real hospital.
