  • One of the most familiar failures that the alternator is susceptible to is the bearings failure. The alternator works in a way that all the parts within it rotate to produce electrical power. One of such components is the bearings needles that, in turn, facilitate free spinning of the rotor within the stator.
When the bearings tend to fail, the rotor spinning would be directly hindered. This may happen due to the heat and dirt accumulation around the alternator. You’ll notice a grinding noise that may further lead to the alternator failure. That is why it is important to look into the issue as soon as possible rather than leaving things for tomorrow.

Hi ! It will be nice to put a sound from the car related to this problem like an intro or something and after go with the chance of the faulty part and end with the sound of the car after the job is done. Will be a great help for viewers.

Actually in this case it was no sound while the engine was working. From time to time I take down the belt and check the tensioner and the roller, I caught this the same way. You will know when a bearing is bad when you turn is by hand. It should be smooth going and very little or no up and down play at all. I forgot to make a short record before working on it.
