I’m not trying to knock what you’re doing but, I don’t think the Saito R19 is enough engine to fly that plane. I’d recommend at least the R33 and without a doubt the R60

You may be right, but I have flown the airframe with a 23cc Zenoah chainsaw motor from the 80s for many years. It performed realistic scale maneuvers effortlessly even when running rich. I have always focused on realism with my scale projects and have no desire to do unrealistic flying with it. The airplane weighs a little over 11 lbs with the old motor and will weigh even less with the new one. I also expect the modern engine to outperform the tired old one. I intend to create videos of the whole process so we will soon know for sure. Thanks for watching and the supportive comments.

Maybe the 33, but why would you even install a 60 in a 1/4 scale Dr.1?!?
      That would be severely overpowered.

      1) the price difference isn’t that much
      2) most likely will need the weight up front anyway
      3) Saito R3’s are in no way as powerful as a gas 2 stroke
      4) it comes with a throttle, nothing says you must fly at full power.
I promise you, that plane won’t fly on the FG19 R3, it will get it to the crash site though.

@@robinsareolas Well we will see here real soon, have you ever built or flown a Balsa USA DR1?, it resembles a box kite more than your average RC airplane. As far as the CH goes, I have a ton of weight in the tail of the airplane now that will help with the situation. I will actually be reducing overall weight.
