The Leaf Ultimate really is an awesome antenna but the included amp can actually hurt your local signals as it also amplifies interference as well. The amp is meant for people that live farther than 30 - 40 miles from the broadcast tower. I made the mistake of scanning with the amp hooked up and found half of my local channels didn't come in and the ones I did get looked like what you were showing. I took the amp out of the loop and I now pick up all of the local channels in the area. I think you'll get a far better result if you do the same.
Yeah, I tried both with the amp and without it on multiple TV's and in different rooms, all because I didn't want to send it back. Ultimately, I did and purchased a RCA Outdoor Antenna and had much better results. It's probably a great product in a Metro Area, but I'm Rural so it was hit and miss. Mostly miss in my case which was disappointing.
Did you try messing around with the position of the antenna? I love mine because I am able to find where signals are strongest and then place the antenna there.
Yeah, I tried about every position humanly possible. Ended up with it in the center of the living room about 6 FT off the ground. That was when I finally got all the channels in my area, but only if the wind wasn't blowing. If the wind was blowing forget about it, got even less then what I showed.
This could have been a tad more informative. For your next review, consider the follow points: * What city are you in? * How many channels are offered in the area? * How far are you from the signal sources? * How far are these sources separated from each other? (No antenna is truly omnidirectional.) * What is the environment like? Are there mountains? Tall buildings? * Is the antenna in a window? If so, does the window face the sources? Is there a metal screen on the window? If it's near the TV, is it above it? Or near metal or electrical interference? Also: * Don't blame the retailer for what is probably caused by the shipper. * I'm not sure but I think it's pronounced MOW-hu, not MOO-hu.
Does the antenna have to be on or near a window? I cannot place my tv that close to a window and don't want to run a bunch of cable line over the wall. Thanks
You live in Biloxi/Pensacola area based on the weather map channel you showed so yeah, you aren't going to get a ton of channels. If you live in/near a major city you'll be able to get about 25-40 channels. You'll get ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, several PBS channels, etc. A lot also depends where you put the leaf, if you put it in the middle of a room you probably will get less channels than near a window. If you live around a ton of trees/buildings the signal could get blocked. This thing is no different than the roof antennas we grew up with except nowadays the local stations are broadcasted in HD and the Mohu leaf might pull a few more stations.
Great video thanks for the review

I'm in Northern Virginia and am supposed to get over 50 stations…signal strength is terrible… oh well, back to best buy I go.
I never got one channel. I did get snow though when I scanned

I am thinking the box damaged was done by the shipping company not Amazon.
Where is your antenna located ? Nyc ?
Nope, Gulf Coast Region
i think you are near a major city you will get more network content just saying
Why are you blaming Amazon for someone trying to see what's in the box? You should blame the shipping company.

Shouldn't you blame the carrier instead of Amazon since it most likely happened in transition.
Yes, I Should
If someone was likely digging around trying to see what was in the box, as you say, why do you blame that on Amazon?
Try the window, I went up to 34 channels on the window, with the Leaf 30, I"m going to try the 50 to get a few more channels.
i don't think it amazon, possibly UPS was sneaking to look whats inside
moo hoo... ; )
